Out in the middle of a desert, a tree that seems to be touching the sky can be found. A sense of forbording can be felt radiating from the tree, despite the green leaves and the clear blue sky. A barrier seals the entrance to the tree's roots, although this barrier seems to have been broken a long time ago. Despite the tree's appearance on the outside, once you travel along it's roots to the inside of the tree, you can see a dramatic change. The inside glows a bright green and seems to be thriving with energy, plants acting as lights illuminating the way.
Once you travel into the true center of the tree, some sort of device can be found there. A tangle of roots scattered all across the floor seem to join to what seems to be a block of technology in the middle of a platform. As you step on the platform, you can feel the pure energy of the tree surge into you... it seems the platfom is the source of the energy. Something seems rather odd about the whole place, but the block seems to draw you to it. On the top of the block, there is but one button. It is a warp button, as soon as you touch it a white flash engulfs the platform and you dissapear.
You then appear on a small platform, surrounded with a strange, green liquid which also seems to be full of energy as it glows softly. A voice booms from above and suddenly there's a gust of air and a deafening roar of flapping wings.
"What ye be doing here, mortal?"
A large creature which can only be described as a flower-covered bat descends upon you, beside it a green glowing cat. You fall backwards onto the platform, the gust of wind too strong to fight aganist.
"I ask ye again, what be ye doing here?"
You stand up as the gust of wind dies down and explain that you had heard about treasure buried deep in the tree. You had hoped to claim the treasure for yourself, but no-one had warned you of the presence of another here.
"No-one warned ye!? I am Iifa, and I am guardian of this anicent tree! I have been here for 5,000 years and no-one has yet to get by me! You wish to challenge ME?"
You say nothing, but you stand up and pull out your sword pointed at the guardian, ready to fight. However, all she does is laugh at you.
"You call that a weapon!? Pitiful mortal, you will never beat me with that. Come back here when you find a true weapon."
With that, another white light engulfs the area and you find yourself transported back outside the tree, the barrier now activated. It is impossible to get back into the tree at this point in time, so you decide to head back to the village, unaware that the little spirit cat seems to be watching you...
