Amidst the scorched sands of ancient Persia, there is a legend spun in an ancient tongue. It speaks of a time borne by blood and ruled by deceit. It is within this war torn land that a young Prince discovers a magic dagger. Drawn to its dark powers, he is led to unleash a deadly evil upon the reaches of his father's vast kingdom. Aided by the wiles of a seductive princess and the absolute powers of the Sands of Time, the Prince stages a harrowing quest to reclaim the Palace's cursed chambers, and restore peace to the very fabric of Time itself. He must tread these dangers carefully, however. Because in this world, there is only one rule: master the Sands, or be buried.

Ervey is a fine warrior, and an acrobatic one as well. His favourite color is blue. The Prince's most famous acrobatic move is his "Wall Dance" wherein he walks on the wall fast if ever there is no platform or if there are traps on the floor below. He is kind, as well as close to his father. He is willing to save his people in unfortunate events, although the thought of vengeance has once plagued his mind. Deceived by the treacherous Vizier, Ervey was led to unleash the Sands of Time curse upon the Sultan's kingdom. On the journey to repair the damage he has caused, the Prince teams up with Farah to return the Sands of Time to the hourglass, using the Dagger of Time. His is a fight for survival... not glory.

Farah is the daughter of the mighty Maharajah of India. She is an important character and love interest for the Prince. Farah grew up in luxury, yet she was also trained with a bow, as well as being a confident athlete. Farah's life was turned upside down when her father's Vizier betrayed them to Sharaman of Persia. Hiding from the invaders, she observed them taking the Dagger of Time and the Sands of Time. She was then captured as a slave and brought to Azad.

She witnessed the Prince's opening of the Hourglass in Azad and tried to prevent him, but was stopped by Sharaman's guards. The Sands of Time were unleashed, sparing only the Prince, the Vizier, and her, who was protected by her Medallion of Time. Farah teams up with the Prince to lock the Sands of Time back up. She ultimately dies when she steals the Dagger of Time from the Prince. She is overwhelmed and trips off a cliff. The Prince attempts to save her by grabbing the Dagger of Time by the blade, but upon seeing his hand bleeding and losing grip on the Dagger she lets go and falls to her death. The Prince then seals the Sands of Time back into the Hourglass of Time, turning back time to a point when Farah was still alive. Farah is given back the Dagger of Time in her room, and warned about the betrayal of the royal vizier, which would result in the kingdom's conquer.

The Dagger of Time is a companion relic to the Hourglass of Time, serving as a key that will open the Hourglass's chambers. Where the Hourglass is merely a container for the Sands of Time, the Dagger enables the wielder to reverse, stop, slow, and use various Sand Powers, as well as protect the Prince from changes in the timeline or alteration by the Sands.The exact origin of The Dagger of Time is unknown; however, since the Sands of Time were created on the Island of Time, it's likely the dagger was too, though for unknown reasons.

It is found upon a pedestal that sits above the baths of the Palace of Azad, and it allows the Prince to break cracked walls in three hits.

It is found in Azad's Halls of Learning and it allows to destroy damaged walls in a single hit. It is later stolen from him, along with the Dagger of Time by Farah.

It is on a pedestal and is guarded by a glowing aura that will harm Ervey if he touches it. By solving a light and mirror puzzle the aura is lifted and Ervey can obtain the weapon. This sword is a deadly weapon that will flat-out destroy any sand creature in one hit, killing them even without the Dagger of Time. The cost of such power is that for the brief time the Prince holds both the Sword and the Dagger, he cannot retrieve any sand unless a sand creature knocks down its ally.
