Hello there. Please call me Allie. Welcome to my humble abode. Please. Sit by the fire, it must have been chilly outside. I'll bring over some tea and cakes. Something to warm you up a bit, no? Oh, a story? You want to hear a story? Well, if you insist. I know of a tale of a young girl, no lady, who, turned her back to there world, and it all began - Once upon a time....

The girl shivered. Allie was not used to the cold, but she still walked on. Snowflakes drifted down, covering the landscape in a blanket of white. Allie's thin clothes were ill suited to this weather, but she ignored the feeling. Her whole body began to go numb, and her muscles became weak. She could not move any more. Silently, she fell the the ground, thinking that it would all be over soon... soon... soon...

Instead of waking up to the songs of angels, she woke up to the sounds of a crackling fire, smells of a warm stew, and felt the rough blanket that covered her. "About time you awoke" a voice croaked, "I was beginning to think you really froze to death. Tsk tsk. Children these days, when will they every learn." Allie was startled and whipped around to see the voice. In the corner, she saw a pretty little lady, no older than 30 no younger than 20 sitting there, across from her, on a big armchair. "You hungry?" the strange lady asked again. Silently swearing under her breath, Allie smiled weakly and nodded. Better play innocent, she thought.

The stew was delicious, and it defrosted Allie a bit. She felt better. But it didn't take the feelings of resentment away from her. She still hated them. The hate would only grow, never cease. The door opened. A handsome man, who looked a lot like the lady who was tending to her, belted out a greeting. "Love, I'm homeeee!" He nearly shouted. The lady giggled. "Hush hush! We have a visitor!" She scolded. "Ahh, I see" He said, lowering his voice. "I'm Rulo. And if she hasn't introduced herself, this is Doir, my pretty little lady. Nice to have you join our humble abode!" Allie paused, staring blankly at the couple. She couldn't understand why they were so nice to her, a stranger from the middle of no where. "Oh, no, th-thank YOU-U for having m-me!" Allie stuttered, trying to seem normal. "Well, rest up then!" Doir chimed in, a bit too happy. "You must get your strength back!" It just seemed odd to Allie, this couple, but then again, after what happened to her, nothing could be normal again...

It was a gloomy and dreary day, the raindrops falling from the sky like melted crystals pouring out of the clouds. The girl sat by her window, silent. She gazed out onto the porch, eyes darting across the yard. Her fingers jumbled in her hand, not knowing where to sit. She smelled of vanilla mocha with a dash of cinnamon. She wore a baggy shirt, and sweats.

Will he remember me?

A tea kettle whistled in the background, but she didn't seem to notice it. As the drops decorated her window, she sighed once more. Today was the day he came home. Home from the war, the fighting, the madness. He was a soldier - no, a warrior, to be more precise - fighting for the freedom of her people. Finally noticing the kettle, she got up and decided to make herself tea. Outside, it started to pour, and a flash of lightning ripped across the sky. The crashing thunder was in hot pursuit.

I wonder if things will have changed?.

As battle of the whether raged in the sky, the girl was oblivious the the creak of the door opening, and the heavy steps of a person, slowing making their way to her kitchen. Another flash of lightning, and another crash of thunder. The girl turned around, and saw him. She dropped her tea, and the clash of porcelain breaking on the marble floor coincided with another roll of thunder.

"Remember me baby?"

Wordless, she flew into his arms, and hugged him tight. He was never going to leave her arms again.
