T I M E L E S S

Wrath is a dream eater, a type of beast that feeds on human being's emotions and dreams. Creatures like him roam this world and travel so fast that they cannot be seen by the naked eye... Of course, until they possess an object or a living being. Have you ever heard of those reports about Bigfoot sightings? Nothing more than a dream eater that possessed a gorilla.

Dream eaters usually avoid us unless they need to feed, and most of them spend the majority of their lives up in the sky. This was not the case for Wrath; He was much slower than most of his kind, which made it very difficult to find company in the skies. Those he could catch up to, are a different race of dream eaters that wanted no part of him. For the longest time, Wrath lived in a world where he didn't belong...

... So he left.

The lonely creature decided to spend his life in a world that resided under the skies. The longer he stayed in the ground, the more he became fascinated with his new neighbors. Everything is much calmer in this new world. There isn't a lot of traffic compares to what he has to deal with in the skies. He moves much faster than another other being that resided in the grounds, which made it easier for him to roam around and explore. He traveled many cities, appreciating the beauty of his new world. He also observed the beings that inhabited his new world, occasionally feeding on their emotions. Wrath's kind particularly enjoys feeding on sadness and grief.
Nothing interested the beast more than the toy stores filled with beautiful and perfectly crafted dolls and toys. He finds them beautiful and fascinating, for they appear to be so filled with life, despite being empty shells. He would visit every toy store he could, admiring the wonderful works of art stocked neatly in the shelves.

After weeks of enjoying his new world, Wrath settled down and made himself home in a toy shop called 'Timeless' in a little town called Crescent, where he spent every single day admiring the toys the shop would sell, as well as watching the owner of the store create new magnificent works of art to add to his 'collection'. It was the perfect place, considering that he was surrounded by his favorite things, as well as the resources he needed to survive. He fed on the toy maker's sadness to keep himself full, which give the owner of the shop strength to manage his shop and to create more toys.
The beast thought that by settling in the toy shop, he had found his haven, that the shop was were he belongs. He was happy with his new life and his new world, and was perfectly content with living the rest of his life this way... At least, until he met Lucy.

Lucy was a regular customer, or rather, a visitor of the toy shop. Wrath would watch her run around in the shop, admiring and falling inlove with every single toy she came across. The owner of the shop didn't mind her company, and nor did Wrath. She always seemed so happy just looking at the toys, and had the same fascination with the toy maker's creations as he did, but for some reason there he sensed something very strange about Lucy. He could see that she was suffering, he could even see the bitter loneliness in her eyes no matter how happy she seemed like.

It was almost night when Lucy left the store, and Wrath watched as the toymaker took out his tools and readied his desk to work. It seemed strange, as that was usually the time that he would go to bed. He opened a cabinet and took out a small box that he had never seen before, and inside was a stuffed animal toy. The cloth used to fashion the doll looked very old, and many parts were ripped and in need of stitching. The colors were also faded, but somehow it reminded him of his recent visitor...
Wrath continued to watch the toymaker as he fixes the old stuff toy. The dream eater did not understand why the toy maker would go through such efforts to fix the ragged thing - this creation of his looked nothing like those that sat proudly in the store shelves. The toymaker worked all night, and the dream eater fed on his negative emotions to help them both get through the night. It has took so long for the toymaker to finish that the monster had fallen asleep, and by the time that the beast had woken up, it was already sundown of the very next day.

It was strange, the toy shop was very different when he has waken up. The shelves has been emptied, and there were men placing the toys in boxes and carried them to a truck. Wrath was scared, for he didn't understand what was happening. He looked at the counter and found the toymaker, who had just finished packing his belongings. He looked very tired, but Wrath could sense that he was at peace... The he was happy. The old man walked slowly out of the counter and towards the door, taking one last look at the store. Before he passes the shelf nearest to the door, He took his newest masterpiece and placed it on one of the empty shelves.

That was the last time that Wrath had ever seen the toymaker.

Wrath looked at what once was his home. He hovered through the empty shelves, remembering the beautiful dolls that were once displayed in them. He couldn't understand what why the store couldn't just stay the way it is. He felt a pang in his chest and it hurt him, the same way it would hurt when he once resided in the skies. Once again, he is stuck in a world where he doesn't belong. With a heavy heart, the lonely beast looked at the only toy left of the store-- the doll that the toymaker had left behind. It looked so beautiful and in a much better shape than when he first saw it. He never realized that even something so broken can still be fixed. This doll easily became his favorite piece. The colors reminded him of his favorite visitor... It was then when he realized that maybe the toymaker had left it behind for Lucy.

The dream eater's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps from afar. It was Lucy. Suddenly, all of the sadness that he felt for his broken home had faded away-- He became worried for Lucy, knowing that it would break her heart to see that the place she loved has fallen apart. Looking back at the doll, he realized now why the toymaker had left it behind. Wrath could not help smile.

It wasn't soon until Lucy had reached the toy store. She knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Confused, she peeked inside from the windows and saw nothing but a dark room filled with empty shelves. Lucy's heart sank as she realized that her favorite place had closed for good, and as she was about to leave she found a strange surprise on the ground. It was an beautiful stuffed animal toy with two big ears.
Lucy looked around to see if someone might have dropped the doll, but there was nobody around. She looked back at the doll with a smile, and decided to take the doll home.

The little girl ran home as fast as she could. She held her new companion tightly as she ran away from the children that made fun of her, away from her parents that paid no attention to her... Away from the world that did not want her. Then at last, she had reached her destination.

The girl smiled as she opened the door to her room, her haven. Slowly catching her breath, she placed the doll on her bed and began and organized a small tea party to welcome her guest.

"Welcome home," She smiled.
