Shifting ice flows, freezing winds; the creaking of the great frozen cliffs as the icy tundra that was the Arctic moved with the ocean's current. This was the land that Nanukae called home. A land that was filled with many a bear, working together in large groups known as slueths. The bears teamed together to hunt, to find shelter and to protect the young from the dangers that lay in the world beyond what they knew.
Nanukae was part of one of these groups. He was still a young cub, but he worked as hard as any of the adult bears, gathering what fish and small mammals he could catch to add to the food pile. Nanukae worked hard, but always there was something stirring deep within his heart, a wanting to strike out on his own and see what was out there; to become a ferocious warrior like the ones in the stories of old...
