Their Look

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Weight: 176 lbs
Height: 6’3”
Clothing style & General Appearance:

His hair is kept short, He sometimes has a 5 o’clock shadow but he shaves that from time to time. His eyes are pale blue and can frankly be a little scary sometimes. Amaro has a very solid build and is in no way slim. He's not fat or anything. He's just sturdy. Amaro likes to keep himself fit so he wouldn't allow himself to become over weight. He just doesn't have the build that would allow him to be super slim. Ro tends to slouch which takes a few inches off his height. However, if he's angry with you he'll stand to his full height, which is a scary sight indeed.

Amaro’s typical style consists of a black zip up hoodie, some faded jeans, sneakers, t-shirt…those are the norm. He doesn’t have the money for really expensive clothes and he wouldn’t buy them if he had the money. Simple. That's what Amaro goes for. Nothing terribly flashy. Sometimes he’ll go to the Salvation Army stores, and sometimes he borrows clothes from his friends (oh ye few...). However, due to his height there are not always clothes that fit him.

Being a “nomad” of sorts Amaro keeps as many things on him as he can without weighing himself down too mach. He has a worn, green, backpack in which he carries all of his other possessions; one toothbrush in a holder, toothpaste, a razor, a hairbrush, an extra pair of pants, 3 other t-shirts, several pairs of underpants and socks. A CD player and headphones along with some assorted CDs (and some assorted batteries). He has a wallet which he makes sure always has at least 10 dollars in and a folded up photo of his family with his father’s face blocked out with ink, assorted pens and a composition notebook (full of who knows what). A copy of the “Importance of Being Earnest”, The Plague Dogs, Curious George Goes to the Hospital, and Elvis by Dave Marsh. He also has a winter hat, gloves, and a scarf.

Personality

What They Like: Pissing of Hiero, Talking to Max, Elvis (Amaro practically worships Elvis. Elvis is serious business. He likes other music, but Elvis Presley cannot be beat in his mind), Shawnee and Capac, Molly (Rottweiler buddy forever!), Not Having to Sleep Outside, Free Stuff, SEX, Food, Challenges of Any Nature, Spreading Out on Max’s Bed, Central Park, Singing Elvis Songs Loudly, Diners, Shifters (wants to be one, possible wolf shifter later)
What They Don’t Like: The Upper Class, Being Looked Down On, Being Called Dirty, His Dad, Hieronymus, Sleeping Outside, Lots of Other Things
Positive Traits: Hard Worker, Intelligent When He Applies Himself, Loyal Friend, Caring When He Feels Like it, Outwardly Confident
Negative Traits: Bottles Up Feelings, Stubborn, Has a Nasty Temper, Has Quite a few “dimmer than a one watt bulb” moments, Emotionally Awkward, Insecure
Overall Personality:

Amaro is used to throwing his weight around, both metaphorically and physically. He often acts in a dominant fashion and has a hard time admitting to being wrong. Though he can be rude and down right mean when you first meet him, if he decides to warm up to you, you could consider him charming (well, almost). He's very direct in his speech, letting his opinions be known, and he tends to be overly confident in his abilities. Amaro has been known to lash out when he's irritated, and it doesn't have to be the one he's aggravated with. On top of that he can be stubborn and set in his ways. He likes a good challenge whether it is mental or physical and will often see the world as a game or competition that he must master.

When tempted, Amaro has a hard time of resisting his "urges". Ladies...he can't help himself. If he likes a girl he will pursue her, put on his charms so to speak, and he has a hard time taking no for an answer. However, though he'll feel strongly attracted to the woman once his basic needs are met (call it sex or whatever you feel) he feels the need to distance himself from the girl. The idea of actually connecting with another on more than a basic instinctual level makes him feel vulnerable, and that is a big “no-no” in his book. Discussing emotions that delve into shades of gray is not a strength of Amaro's. He doesn't do "touchy feely". Well, he does it rarely and he often feels icky afterward.

He is surprisingly insecure despite his outward confidence and arrogance. He's horrified of abandonment and always wonders if others accept him. Of course, he would never admit to this because he believes that if others knew the truth they wouldn't think he is strong or brave or any of those sorts of things.

Amaro is wary of others initially and is not sure if he should trust them. In his experience people have not wanted him or paid much attention to him (unless of course he was being bad and was getting reprimanded) so he wonders if he should want them. However, he still longs for some sort of companionship that goes beyond that of friendship. He thinks he can fill it with flings, but that is clearly not the case. However, he has yet to admit that to himself. It'd help if he was more willing to open himself up, but we all that's not going to happen any time soon unless some sort of super human falls from the sky to crack his romantic shell.

He's just a big, ol', conflicted mess when it comes to feelings for other people. He frequently debates with himself. His "logic" and his "emotions" are frequently butting heads.

Around those who are his friends he's actually pretty funny...albeit, he's got a thoroughly dark humor and at times extremely vulgar and cruel. Though he doesn't enjoy connecting with his sexual partners, he's quite loyal to those considers his friends and is extremely protective of them. Not that there's a lot of them though. He prefers to keep his distance save for a few individuals.

He's also surprisingly good with children when he tries. They annoy him and all, but as a general rule (if he's not feeling cranky) he gets on with them fine.

History

Family:
Father: Clotaire Stokes
Mother: Salwa Stokes
Siblings: Shawnee (Nee, 25), Capac (Cay, 20), Itzel (Itz, 20), Nayeli (Yeli, 20) (His parents had a thing for Native Amarican names)

History:

Amaro was born into an upper class family where money was never an issue. Being the first born as well as the eldest son his father was very proud of him. Clotaire didn’t want to think that his son was anything less than perfect. A little over a year after Ro was born his little sister Shawnee was born. The two were close in age and sometimes people thought they were twins. They were that much in tune with each other. With two children the family was easy to maintain. Though Amaro got the attention needed to keep him in check, it was already clear that he was the more rambunctious of the two.

Amaro was 6 when his mother got pregnant again. The family was hoping for one more child to add to the troupe. The triplets were quite a surprise but not an unwelcome one. However, with the three infants came a whole lot more stress. The individual attention paid to each child became less, and Ro being the oldest was left the most to his own devices. In school he became known as the class clown and on many occasions he found himself in the principal’s office. Amaro was known to cause many fights with his fellow students. The boy had a temper that he had a difficult time controlling. His father said it was part of a boy growing up.

The family had fallen into a pattern of leaving Amaro to himself, but Shawnee and he were still close. However, as he grew Ro began to distance himself from his family, including Shawnee. When he wasn’t out raising hell, Ro would sit in his room and listen to Elvis and all the other musicians he liked instead of spending his afternoon's talking to Nee like he used to.

Despite his trouble making (and the occasional brush with the authorities, though his parents’ money made those incidents quickly forgotten) Amaro managed to graduate high school. He wasn’t unintelligent, just unruly. Having visited the city many times, Ro knew that was where he wanted to go to school. With the help of his parents’ money the young man got into Columbia University. However, once he was there, Ro’s scuffles with authority did not let up. His temper still flared up, and he was very familiar with the campus police.

One day Amaro was out with some friends and he got into a bad bar fight. Well, that landed him right in jail. Luckily his father bailed him out, but Columbia was less than accommodating. They were tired of Ro’s disruptive behavior and expelled him regardless of his family’s money. So it was back to living at home at age 19. Amaro’s father finally admitted to himself that his son was less than what he had expected of him. He agreed to let his eldest stay and live at home until he sorted things out, but there was one condition. Ro had to stay out of trouble with the law. If Amaro ended up back in custody then when he got out there would be no home waiting for him. Clotaire did not want the town to associate him with his aggressive son.

For a year Ro played by the rules. He became close with Shawnee again, and he even spent more time with the triplets who were 13 at this point. He was particularly fond of his little brother, Capac. Still, given Ro’s temper, this was only the calm before the storm. He had gone out for a walk when his famous temper resulted in him doing quite a number on a jogger that had gotten in his way, and his butt was back in jail. This time, however, a speedy bail was not forthcoming. He sat in the cell for a few days before Shawnee showed up and bailed him out and took him back home. His father was no at all pleased and stuck to his word. He would not have his delinquent son in his home any longer, and Amaro was thrown out, though he was allowed to pack some of his things. Ro’s mother and younger siblings just kept their mouths shut, not wanting to irritate their patriarch any further than he already was.

This was the first time Amaro put on his confident face. If his father didn’t want him and his siblings and mother wouldn’t speak up in his defense then the hell with him. He could take care of himself. He turned 21 not long after leaving home (or was rather, forced from home). Amaro didn’t find it difficult to part from his father since the two of them had never been terribly close in the first place. However, Shawnee and Capac were entirely differently stories. He wanted to go back and beg them to try and change their father’s mind, but he shook away those thoughts. He wasn’t going to come crawling back to his home. He was not about to look weak to his father.

The young man eventually made his way to New York City with some of the money that he had taken with him. Over the years he has squatted, stayed at various hostels, and even slept out on the streets for a period of time. Amaro found that he picked up on skills fairly quickly and has supported himself as a “man for hire”. Ready to do just about anything for the right price. (Though if you want someone killed, he’s not your man). Over time his contempt for his father grew into contempt for the whole upper class. He promised himself that he would never go back to being an “upper class snob”. The thought makes him physically ill sometimes. Ro doesn’t tell anyone much about how he got into his current situation since he doesn’t like thinking about it, and even though he has distanced himself from high class, the one thing that has not left him is his need to be cleanly. He makes a point of keeping himself as clean as he possibly can. Still, he keeps his distance from most people thinking that they would get rid of him just as easily as his father got rid of him. That’s what he thinks at least. Hence why he is so stuck on those that he does consider to be friends.

Random History Related: He got piano lessons when he was younger, but he hasn’t played it in a while. He remembers some stuff but he’d have to work at it to get back to as good as he was. He knows random words in German but as for being fluent in it, Ro doesn't even come close to it. Amaro has a pet. Molly the rottweiler. Well, she isn’t exactly “his”. She is actually a guard dog who has taken a liking to Ro. She’ll follow him around (no leash or anything), and Ro will give her scraps of food and of course all the affection he can muster. He likes that dog more than most people. He’ll even talk to Molly from time to time.
