Elaxundrya was an average artist and writer. She had loved these two hobbies since the day she first picked up a crayon in pre-school. Her books won awards and her art was hung in museums and in houses of the wealthy society. Though sadly she's been blind since she was a year old.

Little Ela was a spontaneous little toddler. She would go into the back yard with a piece of paper and a pencil and draw a new thing every day. Sometimes it was the details of a blade of grass, sometimes her swing set her and her father built. Though one day she picked up something she wasn't supposed to draw, at least in her back yard. She found a venomous snake. Once her hand touched the scales of the serpent it struck her in her eyes. Her screams echoed throughout the neighborhood as she was driven quickly to the hospitals. After barely surviving the doctors told her parents she would never be able to see again. Once the bandages were removed from her face her parents saw her pale, snow white eyes and begun to cry.

Surprisingly after several months of recovery, Little Ela was back to drawing and now she was starting to write. Her art was advancing more and more every year. Her short stories grew to novels by the age of fifteen. Though blind everyone supported her. Most mocked thinking how a blind person can create art or even write stories when they can't see anything. She could see. It was just her heart that could see. Even though her blindness tried to freeze her wings of freedom she fought back and succeeded.

Now she's often seen sitting in her backyard on a stool and her cane leaning against a tree as she either draws or writes. Her house has held very few quests, very little parties. Even her own walls have her art hanging. Her favorite piece, a rose push with a little baby hedge hog hiding behind a rose, was hung above her bed. Though she couldn't see it all she had to do was touch it and be inspired to press on everyday through any struggle, no matter how hard it seemed.

One day while drawing she heard something sneaking through the grass but paid no mind. Her home in the country had many animals in the back yard ranging from deer to little beetles. She felt the flickering of a forked tongue on her ankle. She jumped slightly and slowly reached down. The snake slithered onto her arm and got up to her face. It's tongue touched her nose several times causing her to giggle. She set down her sketch pad and touched the scales of the snake. She remembered the touch and froze. It was the snake that caused her blindness all those years ago. Was it trying to say sorry for what it had done?

"I remember you. You bit me and caused me to go blind." The snakes head slunked down a bit as if it was sad."Are you apologizing for what you did?" She felt the snake nod against her cheek."Do you want to be my new friend" She smiled and let the snake coil onto her shoulder.

A new and odd friendship started but she loved her new pet snake. Everyday he watched her draw from on top of her shoulder. He enjoyed his new friend and knew that he finally had a place to call home. She named him Corulote.
