Slug is more than a very tiny, oddly-colored dinosaur. Slug is our very tiny, oddly-colored dinosaur. And by "our" I mean mine, and a certain 6'2'' Italian-Scandinavian dork who I have to stand on my tippy-toes in order to hug (honestly, running and jumping works much better). Kissing that boy is a whole different story. I swear I'm going to have neck problems when I'm older. Regardless, his name is Chad.

Chad and I met through mutual/crazy friends while i was a wee little frosh in High School off in a far-away land in boarding school. We became fast friends: we both made weird noises, were way too energetic for our own goods, wandered around aimlessly in the woods barefoot, and had this strange ability to make everyone around us smile for no good reason. It eventually came to be that, well, we sort of adored each other. For the better part of our time together we've been in a long distance relationships - whether it was two or six hours away didn't really matter (except that it was a much longer drive during the latter) because when we get together it's like we've been right next to each other the entire time. I can't really explain how it happens.

Right now Chad and I are both in college - hence, it's that latter amount of time and I do a lot of driving. He's at the University of Santa Cruz, and I am at a random community college in the woods - but I'll be there soon! And we'll both be banana slugs together. Yes. Banana slugs. Long, yellow, slimy creatures that move too slowly to be involved in sports. Oh dear. But for this reason there is Slug - because he is bringing us together again (even it it... was, well, by complete accident).

The two of us are very weird. That's pretty much why we work so well together. We love food, tea, and are super nerdy when it comes down to it, but we spend so much of our time outdoors that, even though I'm a ginger, by the time I settle back in to my cold mountain town in the winter, I have a tan. I know, I know. It's impossible. But somehow it works. We have had many adventures together, and many days sitting on the couch watching Harry Potter or any of the various National Lampoons, and we intend on making sure that number continues to climb. (:
