Dark grey clouds overhead were quickly condensing in the sky. There would be a storm tonight. Correction; there would be a storm right now. The clouds let themselves go and sobbed their sorrows down upon the forest. Large droplets bounced on the hard ground and sprang up into the air, attempting to get back to the sky. Many of the creatures scurried out of the rain and hid. Few thrived in the freezing rain, and even fewer enjoyed it.

A blur of color moved through the foliage, slowly yet swift in movement. One paw after the other the female trudged along, careful in her steps. Her breath seemed evident in the crisp night air; a sign she had been traveling for quite some time. With that said, the wolf-like creature had been in fact wandering for hours, no perhaps it had been days even... so long actually that it seemed she had lost all track of time. Hours and days were meshing together and her endless wander was becoming meaningless. Rain splattered against her snowy white coat of fur, and a grunt of disgust could be heard.

"Suppose it's time for a rest," she mumbled to no one in particular, plopping down on the now sodden ground. Under her breath she recited a quick string of words, and almost immediately a clear bubble developed around her. The water in her fur seemed to pour off her, leaving her just as clean and dry as she had been previously. The area all around her was illuminated in a soft purple light, the source originating from the small amethyst gem socketed in her cloak. With a sigh of resignation, she settled back to wait the storm out.
