I felt regret.
I felt grief.
I mourned that we had grown so apart that it would end this way.

You had many suitors who would gladly win your hand in marriage, but you would have none of them. You chose me. Ailill. I alone was without meanness, without jealousy and without fear. You were my equal in every way. You had strength, you had wealth, you had generosity, you had courage, you had fire. You had many lovers, but your passion never deterred me - I admired you for it.

But then came he. Initially, I assumed you bedded him to ensure his loyalty to our war. Our war, to ensure we stayed equals, remained partners whatever the world would throw at us. But something was different this time; different between you and him, and different between you and me. For the first time, I felt bitterness. I felt rejected. When I saw you bathing with him, a red rage rose in me that I never knew I could feel. It was cowardly of me to ask Lugaid to throw his spear; but I could not bear the thought of risking to hurt you myself.

I though we would be partners again, with Fergus gone. I was wrong.

I sought comfort elsewhere. I visited her without your permission. Yet I hoped, wished, prayed to every god in our Pantheon that we would grow together again. I was wrong. It was broken. We were broken. Like me, you could not face to do the deed yourself. Conall was more than happy to help, to avenge what I had done to Fergus. I died the way Fergus had died. I don't believe I even tried to evade Conall's spear.

I'm not sure how I came back.

It was autumn. The harvest was being brought in. It must have been Samhain. I had no body, at first. But I could feel. I could travel. I sought you, only to learn you had long since departed. I had knowledge of the arcane, of sorcery. I created myself this... shell. It is not human, but it will do. It is powerful. It has stronger links to forces I barely knew existed when I was alive.

And with these powers, my love, my Medb, I will bring you back.
I will reunite us, by whatever means.
