The annoying sound of a phone rang through the otherwise silent room several times before a dark colored paw finally picked up the receiver. There was no uttering of the word "hello" upon answering the phone. Instead, the receiver was simply held up to the ear of the creature that answered it.
"He's almost here." a raspy-sounding voice spoke from the phone. A smirk passed over the animal's... beak. If one's eyes were able to adjust to the darkness of the room that said animal sat in now, they would be able to see a rather proud looking griffin.
"Thank you." A woman's voice came from the creature's beak. Without another word, the phone was placed back onto the receiver. The griffin left the comfort of the couch she was sitting on. At first, her footsteps were silent as she walked along soft carpet. The silence was soon broken when the carpet changed into hard tile, and her claws made light ticks against the floor. She opened the door to the small, shabby apartment she had been waiting in (which luckily wasn't her own), and stepped out into the much brighter hallway.
The ability to fly really was helpful when it came to racing with nature. Thanks to her wings, the griffin had made it to a well known bar right before the rain began to pour itself onto the ground. Safely inside the bar and out of the rain, she made her way towards the back end of the building. Oddly enough, she didn't stand out much, despite her attire of a blue and silver jacket, a burgundy feathered boa, and a hat that matched both the jacket and boa quite well. This was likely because there were currently much more flashier animals in the bar than herself. And if they weren't flashy due to their appearance, it was because of the ruckus they were causing thanks to already being drunk.
Although her eyes were only half open, the look that she had in them was all too-well known by anything that could have been considered prey for the griffin. Right now, she had the eyes of a predator on the hunt, as she scanned the crowd for her target. Her tail flicked at her side impatiently as she didn't see who or what she was looking for right away. She smiled and nodded to a few familiar faces that would pass in front of her and greet her as she sat against the back wall. Even when she chatted with a few creatures who were familiar to her, her attention was still focused on her job.
Right in the middle of a conversation with an acquaintance of hers, she suddenly sensed something. First her ears flickered, then her head sharply turned to her right. She caught sight of a wolf-like creature, which was staggering towards the back entrance of the bar. To a normal onlooker, the animal simply looked like he had one too many drinks. But to the griffin, she knew that this was the target she was after. "Sorry, I've got to go." she muttered under her breath to her companion at the time, before moving away and following stealthily after the wolf.
The griffin ended up following the other animal outside, where the rain seemed to only have gotten worse. Perhaps this was a good thing for the griffin. Either the rain was drowning out her scent, or the creature she was stalking was just too stupid to notice they were being followed. The latter was what she was thinking until the wolf came to an abrupt halt. After about 10 minutes of what seemed like aimless walking, the griffin had found that they had wandered into an abandoned-looking alley.
"Who are youuuu...?" the wolf growled out, drawing out its words. Even though the griffin had stopped a good few feet behind him, she could see that the fur on the back of his neck was going rigid.
"Eisen." A smirk passed the griffin's beak as she calmly introduced herself. "What's it to you, demon?"
Within an instant, the wolf spun around and bared his teeth at the griffin. His eyes were a glaring red color, and almost appeared to be glowing. "DON'T FOLLOW MEEEE!!" he snarled out. He began to walk towards Eisen, and unnaturally large claws began to reveal themselves from his paws with each step he took.
The frightening scene that would have scared a regular animal silly didn't seem to phase Eisen at all. "Hm, what would be a good way to dispose of you?" she asked, more to herself than to the demonic wolf. She tapped one of her own claws to her beak as she decided the best way to defeat her opponent.
