forget yesterday, we'll make the great escape

we won't hear a word they say, they don't know us anyway

Isobelle's initial story was a choose-your-own adventure which began July 22nd, 2010, and ran for approximately a month. Each week, her story was updated with two choices and users were able to pick the outcome!

Isobelle was a Jollin kept by an eccentric couple as a pet. It is, as far as laws are concerned, illegal to keep Jollin as pets. How the couple obtained Isobelle is a complete mystery - even to Isobelle herself, who has long forgotten the circumstances that led to her situation. Though the relevant authorities were notified, nothing was done. Some neighbours took it upon themselves to attempt to police the couple, but to no avail. Jollin are not meant to be kept as pets, and while Isobelle wasn't mistreated, she was miserable all the same. She attempted to escape many times, but was only met by failure. Because of her frequent attempts at escape, the couple kept her on a chain, with a collar sporting a gaudy pink bow. Isobelle became so miserable that her Common colouring changed to Glacier to reflect the way she felt.

Word quickly spread about the plight of Isobelle amongst many of the wild Jollin communities. After weeks of discussion, a certain Glade Jollin tribe took it upon themselves to rescue Isobelle. With much planning, effort, and sheer luck, they succeeded, and Isobelle was set free. However, upon discovering that their beloved pet had disappeared, the former owners began to busily make signs and posters, offering a reward of 100,000 sP for Isobelle's safe return. They received many reports that Isobelle was seen in the Arctic Frost, still around Veta, at Riverside, even as far as Darkside and Atebus. But there were consistent reports that people had seen a Glacier Jollin at Peka Glade, and these reports, in fact, were true.

Isobelle had decided to reside with the Glade Jollin tribe that had rescued her, and though she was happy, there was still something missing. When she had been kept in captivity, she had befriended a Ducker named Leonard that the couple also owned. She missed him. After asking the tribe's advice, they persuaded her to go (though Isobelle now thinks it may have just been a ploy to try and get her to leave - the tribe were a little regretful of their decision to rescue her, thinking they were now in danger from the couple). Isobelle had befriended a Jollin by the name of Jacinta (indeed they were the best of friends!) and Jacinta agreed to go.

After a harrowing rescue mission which involved Jacinta falling into a trap, then being trapped in the house, both Jollin managed to rescue Leonard and leave the house safely. Celebrating their return, they excitedly told the tribe about what had occurred, but the tribe were less than pleased, their adventurous story met with nothing but stony disapproval. Isobelle thought it was best that she left ...

It was late at night when Isobelle reached the outskirts of the Glade. Leonard was happily waddling behind her, when all of a sudden, a rustling announced that they were no longer alone. Isobelle jumped. 'Who's there?!'

'Me!' answered Jacinta, rather loudly, appearing from behind a bush as if it was the most natural thing in the world to be stalking another Jollin at 3am in the morning. 'I'm coming with you!' Isobelle stared at her.
'No,' she protested, 'You should stay with your tribe. Leonard and I will be OK on our own.'
Jacinta shook her head. 'I think I've had enough of tribe life,' she said cheerfully, 'Unless you don't want me to come?'
Isobelle was at a loss for words. 'No, Jacinta, you're my best friend, of course I want you to come but it's just ...'
Jacinta interrupted. 'Then it's settled. You want me to come, I want to come, I don't see the problem.' Isobelle decided not to argue with Jacinta; she'd long since learned that once Jacinta made up her mind, there really was no way of changing it.

'But before we leave, I want to show you something,' said Jacinta. Isobelle reluctantly looked at her; she was hoping she'd make a quick escape, not dawdle. 'Come on, really, it's important.' Isobelle sighed and followed her friend.

They arrived at the Glade's pond, a still pool of water. Next to the pool was an ornate floral pitcher, half filled with water.
'Drink it,' said Jacinta, pointing at the pitcher.
'Excuse me?' said Isobelle. She was dubious about this. What sort of harebrained new scheme was this from Jacinta?
'Do it!' urged Jacinta. 'Really. It won't hurt you. And it took me aagggessss to get that pitcher, and filling it was a whole other issue, please?'
Isobelle sighed. 'All right,' she agreed, and she stuck her head into the pitcher and drank the contents. She really didn't feel very different, though when she looked at Jacinta she could tell something was.
'What? What is it?' she asked.
'Aww I'd thought you'd turn out like me and we'd match!' said Jacinta, which made no sense whatsoever to Isobelle. But Jacinta pointed at the pool. 'Look at your reflection'!
A few daisies seemed to have made daisy chains around Isobelle's neck, ears, legs and tail. A few forlorn daisies seemed to have popped up out of nowhere from Isobelle herself, but mostly they were just daisy chains. 'Ohhh,' said Isobelle. 'Is that what it was supposed to do?' Jacinta shook her head. 'No! It was meant to be a Glade potion, you know? When you drank it, it should've turned you like me, all green and flowers and butterflies following you everywhere. I dunno why it didn't. Maybe I did it wrong. At least you didn't turn into the camel thing ...' (at this Isobelle made a rather horrified face, a camel thing?!) 'But I kinda like you better like this. I was just thinking, in case your owners ever tried to find you again, you could have a permanent disguise. I dunno I guess you look different enough, I mean you're not quite a Glacier and not quite a Glade so they won't know for certain, right?'
'Oh,' said Isobelle, a little overwhelmed by all the trouble that Jacinta must have gone to, just to do this for her. 'Thanks Jacinta.'
'Don't mention it!' said Jacinta. 'Now come on, are we going or what?'

There have been recent reports that people have been sighting what looks to be a Glade Jollin and a Glacier (... no a Glade ... no, quite sure it's a Glacier ... but why does it have flowers? ... that can't be right) ... travelling around Subeta. With a duck. It is the oddest trio ever sighted around Subeta, and they're known to get into mischief - perhaps someone in future will be documenting their adventures!

Introduction

About
Isobelle and Jacinta's Luminaire Project was a project run by the two Jollin during the Luminaire of 2010. The project began on December 1st and continued until the end of the month. The two Jollin paid visits and gave gifts to other pets in the spirit of Luminaire.

Week 1

Jacinta was bounding towards Isobelle with a look that Isobelle knew all too well. It was the look Jacinta got whenever she had a particularly clever idea. Isobelle almost wanted to start backing away, but Jacinta reached her with a puff of exuberant breath.

'Izzy, Izzy, guess what?!' exclaimed Jacinta, upon reaching her best friend.
'Er, what, Jacinta?' asked Isobelle nervously.
Jacinta shook her head at Isobelle, ears going haywire. 'No, Izzy,' she said crossly. 'I want you to guess.'
Isobelle pretended to ponder. 'You finally stopped egging on Marlow to jump off that tall tree you two found?'
'No,' said Jacinta, 'Wrong! Oh gosh Izzy, I know you, you'll never guess. But you'll love it, I know you will. I signed us up to be Melody's Little Helpers!' Jacinta stared at Isobelle as though waiting for a reaction, although all she got in return was polite puzzlement.
'Come again?' said Isobelle.

'You know, Melody! She gives out gifts in Luminaire. Everyone knows who Melody is. I thought you might like the idea of going out and giving gifts out, to celebrate the season and all. So I asked Melody if we could help her and give out some gifts and she said yes! What do you think?'

Isobelle's face, which had looked quite apprehensive at first ('Oh no, oh God she's probably asked some strange woman if we'll 'help' her and we'll have to clean a house or something, I don't even know how to clean houses') now broke into a smile. 'Oh, Jacinta, that sounds like a lot of fun! Aw, what a lovely idea.'
Jacinta snorted. 'All my ideas are lovely, you just don't appreciate them sometimes.'
Isobelle pretended not to hear this remark.

'So, when do we start?'

Week 2

'Is this really necessary?' asked Isobelle, warily eyeing the outfits that she and her best friend, Jacinta, were now dressed in.
'Of course it's necessary!' replied Jacinta, her tone of voice implying that this was a question that should not even be asked, gosh Isobelle, the nerve. With a flourish, she looked back down at the list in front of them.
'Well,' she continued brightly, 'This is a list of our giftees! How about we split them in half? And you can gift one half and I'll gift the other?'
'W-wait!' interjected Isobelle, 'So ... but ... we're not doing this together?'
'Of course we're doing this together', replied Jacinta soothingly, 'But it'd just be quicker if we dropped off the gifts separately! You know, so they'll arrive on time. You don't want any gifts to be late do you?'
'O-of course not,' replied Isobelle, 'But-'
Jacinta wasn't listening. She tore the list clean in half and offered it to Isobelle. 'Here's your half, Izzy! I say a week and we'll get it all done. Then I'll meet you back at Marlow's place, OK? I'm going to use him to pull my sleigh!'

Sleigh? thought Isobelle. She had to be joking ... but knowing Jacinta, Isobelle knew all too well that she probably wasn't. Isobelle stared down at her list. How on Subeta was she going to do this alone? As much as Isobelle felt she spent 70% of her time attempting to avert Jacinta's harebrained schemes, she had to admit that Jacinta at least knew what she was doing.

What was it that Jacinta told her before she had left? Oh that was it. That they'd need to send out some stockings first, cause they'd need somewhere to put the presents! Isobelle hurriedly tucked her list into a pocket (at least these outfits were good for something, she thought) and headed out to procure some Empty Stockings.

Have you received one yet?

Week 3

Exhausted, Isobelle flopped down in the snow after finally delivering her very last stocking. So many stockings! So many deliveries! She felt like she had been running over half of Subeta just to deliver them all. After all, there had been quite a lot ...

At least it was really rewarding when she peeked into windows and under gaps in doors, to see the stockings all hung up and waiting for presents. She couldn't wait to deliver the actual presents! Well ... maybe a little waiting. Just to catch her breath and take a rest, at least!

Of course there's no rest for the wicked (or, as Isobelle thought, even those that did positively nice things) - it had taken the whole week and Isobelle realised that she was meant to meet up with Jacinta and Marlow! Though she'd have loved to at least lie down in the snow just a little bit longer, she knew if she was even an hour late, they'd both be hysterical and issuing search warrants and thinking up every possible scenario for why she wasn't there. Additionally, she realised Jacinta and Marlow were probably alone. Who knew what two crazy brains could get up to without any restraint! Appalled by this thought, Isobelle got to her feet and began dashing through the snow, on her way to meet her friends.

As Isobelle came around the corner, she was assaulted by a green blur that promptly knocked her to the ground.
'IZZY! OH IZZY, YOU'VE FINISHED TOO!? HOW WAS IT, oh you just have to tell me everything!' Jacinta squealed delighted with the sight of her best friend. 'Oh I've missed you so much Izzy, who would have guessed it was only a week!'
'I've missed you too, Jacinta!' Isobelle replied a little flustered and out of breath having been tackled to the ground by her slightly hysterical friend. Looking up at Marlow, Isobelle then said, 'Have you filled him in on your plans, Jacinta?'

Jacinta got up and replied, 'I was just getting to that ... but uh ... that can wait! First we have to get ready for next week! That's when all the real work begins!'

What have these Jollin got in store for the coming week?

Isobelle was greeted by the sight of a magnificent sleigh, driven by her best friend Jacinta, and pulled by another Jollin who was part of their trio, Marlow.

'How do you like it?' asked Jacinta, bounding out of the sleigh like a tiny green Jollin-esque Melody. Both Jollins looked supremely proud of themselves.
Isobelle was aware that her mouth was hanging just slightly open. She closed it. 'Very nice,' she managed to answer. 'Are you planning to-'
But Jacinta was already talking over her. 'We're gonna deliver all the presents in this sleigh! Marlow said if he runs real fast he'll probably start flying, just like reindeers do ...'
Marlow did look exceptionally pleased with himself. 'Yep, Izz, I got it all worked out. It's going to happen this time, this flying business!'
Isobelle didn't have the heart to tell her friends that this probably wasn't going to work out the way they had planned, but then again, it was Luminaire and anything could happen.

Nothing was impossible, encapsulated, right now, by the fact there was a Jollin making another Jollin pull a sleigh. Isobelle was pretty sure that even in the long history of Subeta, she would very much doubt that any other species had ever done this. So without saying a word, she hopped in while Jacinta bounded in beside her and began to direct Marlow. 'GO MARLOW! EAST! MUSH! ...'

They had travelled a long distance (well, Marlow said it was long, and he said if you had been pulling the sleigh, then it would've felt doubly long) when Marlow said he was tired. Jacinta looked just a little worried; how would they deliver all their gifts in time? But Isobelle had a solution.
'Look, you two, it'd be a lot easier without me on board! How about I just ... deliver the rest of the presents that I've got on my list ...'
'And then we'll come pick you up afterwards!' said Jacinta. 'Brilliant idea, Izzy. Let me see your list ...'
After discussing where Isobelle would be once she had finished delivering her last gift, heartfelt goodbyes were said and Isobelle trotted off.

Some Very Notable Gift Giving Adventures

Colbin

Isobelle finds herself in a rather drab, dreary place; it's positively imposing and she feels very out of place. Isobelle is bright white in colour, and she stands out against the dark walls, making her feel even more conspicuous. She also feels quite confined which makes her want to back out immediately; it reminds her too much of her captivity in a human house. Still, she bravely forges onwards, holding a box in her teeth by the ribbons. She moves up to a counter, and lets the package drop. 'Excuse me,' she says.
A face peers over the counter. 'Ohhh, aren't you cute!,' says the guard. 'How can I help you?'
Isobelle indicates with her paw, the present. 'I've got a present to deliver,' she says. 'Uhh to ...' she checks the tag again. 'Colbin.'

The guard swings off his chair and grabs a set of keys.
'Colbin, really, indeed! I can take it for you,' he says.
Isobelle is about to agree with this plan; she doesn't want to spend any longer in this place than she has to, but something tells her that Jacinta would surely disapprove. She wishes Jacinta was with her now. 'Uh, no,' she replies, 'If you could just show me ...'

The guard shrugs. 'All right,' he acquiesces, and he leads Isobelle down a dark dank hallway, and through narrow corridors, till they arrive at what is unmistakeably a cell. Isobelle shivers and begins to feel increasingly uncomfortable because she is claustrophobic. The guard doesn't notice though, and he begins to pull back at a heavy iron door, taking out a gun. 'Stay back,' he says to the Jollin, but Isobelle doesn't need to be told twice. She cranes her head to see into the gloom of the cell, though, and almost instantly she presses herself up against the wall at her back. She supposes what is inside could be called a monster, but curiously she feels as if it would do no harm, and as she looks longer, she is convinced of it. Poor creature, she thinks to herself.

'I'll just chuck the package in with it,' says the guard, holding out his hand for the package. But Isobelle has it by the ribbons in her teeth again, and with one look at the guard, she takes a breath, darts around his legs and runs into the cell.
'Hey!' shouts the guard. 'He's dangerous' but Isobelle hardly hears.
She comes to a stop just in front of the creature and she can't really help feeling scared though she knows that had the creature wanted to cause her harm ... well he could've done that already.

Isobelle drops the package at her feet.
'C-Colbin?' she asks.
The creature seems to emit a series of clicks which are kind of comforting in an odd way.
Isobelle continues, 'It's ... this is for Luminaire,' and she nudges the present closer to him. Looking all around at the bare, drab little cell, she shakes off one of the daisy chains around one of her paws.
'You can have this too,' she says. She glances at the door; the guard seems to be gesturing rather angrily at her.
'I ... I have to go,' says Isobelle, with a laugh, 'But Happy Luminaire.'
Colbin seems to click a few more times (maybe he's saying thankyou, thinks Isobelle). She darts out toward the door, and then, not bothering to wait for the guard, she finds her own way back through the corridors and bursts out into the wintery sunshine.

Foxglove

Ugh, thought Isobelle as she carried this particular present, in which one side of it was already soaking through with what was decidedly wet mud. Yuck. She wondered why on Subeta anyone would want mud for a gift, but her question was answered as she rounded the corner.

A bright purple Jollin was digging in the earth, getting splattered with dirt and mud as she did so. It seemed she was digging for something in particular, and that something became quite clear - she was digging for bugs and worms! Now, Isobelle enjoyed getting dirty just as much as other Jollins (well, this was a lie, really, Isobelle probably liked getting dirty less than other Jollins, but she'd never say no to a good dig or even a quick roll in some mud) but she thought it was all a bit much. Especially since she could see that this Jollin was eating what she found!

'Hello,' said Isobelle, taking care to set down her package in a relatively clean patch of grass (though why she had to was a good question - it was seeping out mud from a corner and it really couldn't get any cleaner, after all)! 'Are you Foxgl-'

But the rest of her sentence didn't come out because it was interrupted by a terrific wallop of mud which hit Isobelle right in the eye.
'Mudfight!' cried the other Jollin rather gleefully as she skipped around Isobelle. Isobelle shook her head to get the mud out of her eye (all the while thinking, oh my God is mud toxic, will I go blind, doesn't it say that when you get poisonous substances in your eye to flush it with water, IS THERE WATER?!?!)

The Jollin came to a stop in front of Isobelle, slurping down what looked to be a large worm. 'I'm having a feast!' she said, grinning.
'I'm sure you are,' replied Isobelle, adopting a tone of voice she often used when talking to Jacinta and Marlow. She was sure that if Jacinta and Marlow were with her, they'd definitely be having a ball with this Jollin too!

'Ohhh is that a present?!' asked the Jollin, suddenly noticing the damp muddy package. She picked it up and shook it, where the rather unpleasant (at least to Isobelle) sound of mud splashing around in a box came through.
'Thankyou so much!' she said to Isobelle, seemingly delighted with what she had received. 'You must stay, then, please have something to eat!'

'N-no thankyou,' declined Isobelle politely, 'I really have to go ... I've got other things to deliver and all ... but it's very kind of you!'
'You can do that later! Oh please please please, just a bite ... ! I won't keep you long!'

Isobelle discovered the hard way that worms are quite disagreeable to her palate (and caterpillars aren't better by much, either.)

Mimi

Isobelle glanced down at her list. Mimi, it read. Sweet Petal Tea. Isobelle had an odd sort of sinking sensation in her stomach. How would she be able to deliver a beverage?!

Very, very, very carefully, seemed to be the answer. After procuring the gift, Isobelle precariously balanced it on her head. She looked very odd, a Jollin balancing a cup and saucer on top of her head! She did it quite well, too, without spilling a drop. Walking bravely into a shop, she asked for some wrapping paper and a box - of which the storekeeper insisted she just take it for free (it wasn't often he was greeted with a Jollin balancing act, after all). It was a little easier once she placed the Sweet Petal Tea into the box, though it was a challenge wrapping it up and putting a bow on it! Isobelle was beginning to learn that wrapping was her arch-nemesis.

Picking up the box in her mouth by its ribbon, Isobelle wandered Veta until she found a lovely, cheery cafe. This must be it! she thought. She had gotten a few vague pointers as to where this 'Mimi' might be, and everyone she had asked had told her that Mimi was often found in a lovely cafe. Peering through the window, she saw a stocking hanging up behind the counter on a wall. The label on the stocking clearly read 'Mimi.' I wonder if that's Mimi thought Isobelle, seeing a Feli curled up dozing right on the counter.

Isobelle decided she didn't want to wake Mimi (after encountering Charlene after an ill-timed wakeup call, she knew better to let sleeping Feli lie!) and instead walked up to the counter, and very, very carefully placing the box down, she called up to the lady who was serving.

'Hey ... hey! Excuse me! Would you please make sure that this' - here she indicated the box - 'Will get to its owner?'
The lady, hearing Isobelle, peered over the edge of the counter, just a little taken aback. However, she nodded her consent. Satisfied, Isobelle checked the box all over, then hurried off to deliver the rest of her gifts.

The woman picked up the box (very, very carefully since the Jollin looked as though it held something precious!) and read the tag attached. To Mimi, it read. Happy Luminaire! I hope that this will still be warm when you get it ...

Nicholas

Isobelle peered in through the window, her nose right up against the glass, just to make quite sure that this was the correct house. She had to stifle her laughter though, because the creature within was busy attempting to make sense of the stocking that she had delivered a week earlier.

Presently he appeared to have stuck all of his limbs into the spacious stocking but evidently he decided this made no sense and made do with a stocking-hat instead. 'Oh dear,' giggled Isobelle. She quite liked this creature - she glanced at her package to check who it was addressed to, again - Nicholas. Maybe it was because Isobelle felt a kind of solidarity in the puzzled he seemed to wear.

Probably because the puzzled mirrored her own whenever she was around Jacinta (and often this puzzled would then transform into 'slight consternation' or 'concerned anxiety'). If Nicholas was Isobelle then the stocking was definitely representative of Jacinta and Marlow.

Isobelle realised she'd be quite embarrassed if her giftee caught her looking through his window unbeknowst to him, so she turned away and headed to the door instead. She had to leap to ring the doorbell (alas being a Jollin, a height-disadvantage was one of the pitfalls!) and she carefully placed the package on the step and then pelted round to the side of the house because she wanted very much to see how the gift would be received.

'Ohhh look!' said Nicholas, for he had opened the door. 'A gift! To me!' He picked it up and shook it. With the door still open, he bellowed into the bowels of the house to whomever else was inside. 'I GOT A GIFT. TO ME. ADDRESSED TO ME. 'NICHOLAS.' I thought you said it'd come in the stocking ...'
Isobelle gave a start. Oops, she thought, I really should have! But it would've been so impossible to do a break and enter ... not really into crime, no not at all.

'Oh, all right. I wonder who delivered it. I see little pawprints in the snow! But don't elves deliver presents? ARE ELVES LITTLE DOGS? DO THEY HAVE LOWER DOG HALVES WITH DOG-FEET? ... Oh. No. You're right. ... Yes there is a tag, it has my name on it. Ohh wait there's a note ... oh. Read the note? And then I'll find out who it's from? Yes that does sound like a good idea ...'

The door closed with a click. Isobelle thought she was going to faint from all the effort of trying not to laugh.

Ponce

It was probably very bad manners, but Isobelle was wearing the next gift she had to deliver. It was a beautiful, warm, Large Peppermint Scarf. Isobelle had justified her wearing of the gift because it was cold, and she couldn't possibly carry it since she hadn't wrapped it just yet. The wrapping paper was actually stuffed in a pocket in the outfit she was wearing, along with a ribbon (of course!) She was on her way to Veta Lake Library to make a delivery to a Ruffie named Ponce, and Veta Lake got very cold this time of year!

By the time Isobelle had reached the Library, large fat flakes of snow were falling. Isobelle shivered. Even with her thick coat, (and her other coat on top of that, and the scarf!) she was still quite cold and would like nothing more than to escape into the warmth of the Library.

However, as she approached, she saw a Ruffie gambolling out in the snow. Oh no! Isobelle thought to herself. That was Ponce, for sure, if she remembered correctly. She hurried over to one side of the library where he hoped he wouldn't see her. She quickly took off the scarf, and very clumsily (paws made everything so difficult!) wrapped it up. Tying a ribbon, she then picked it up in her mouth and went round the side to greet the Ruffie.

'Hello, Ponce!' she said, dropping the present in the snow. 'This is for you! Happy Luminaire ... it's so cold out that I hope you don't mind if I stay in the library awhile!'
Isobelle trotted off, quite pleased with herself. What she didn't know was that when Ponce unwrapped his present, he did wonder why his scarf just felt a little bit damp (as if snow had fallen on it and melted!) and why a daisy had happened to fall out from the folds.

Large Peppermint Scarf!

Isobelle finished delivering her last gift, and then waited for Jacinta and Marlow to pick her up. She wondered how long it would take, but she hoped it wouldn't be much longer!

Isobelle, as a matter of fact, hadn't finished delivering all her gifts. She'd had the forethought to get something for Jacinta and Marlow! She'd already dropped off Marlow's present (a lovely new parachute) but Jacinta's present was still with her. It wasn't wrapped; only rolled up and tied with a ribbon. She hoped it had survived the journey ... it had taken her a long time to do and it was a little fragile! She'd gone to great pains for it, even having to stop at Thimble & Co. to make a deal with Charlene, the resident Feli (little did anyone know that the small Feli had a good business mind and drove a hard deal ...)

Just to check, Isobelle dug inside her little coat and took out Jacinta's gift:

Not long afterwards, Jacinta skidded around the corner, with Marlow still pulling the heavy sleigh.

'Gosh Jacinta, needed my help to finish, huh?!' Isobelle teased. 'Just couldn't quite do it all by yourself?' Jacinta started to put up a fight but before she could Marlow and Isobelle looked at each other and started laughing.

They just had one last little gift to deliver!

Isobelle thought she had been exceptionally clever and wonderful with her little sleigh-trick!
'Thankyou, Razai,' she called out as the sleigh soared away from him. Jacinta and Marlow were far too enthralled by Marlow's flying to really take much notice of her thanks!

But there was just one very last thing. Isobelle turned to Jacinta. 'Jacinta! I've got something for you ..'
Jacinta turned expectantly to see what it was, and Isobelle fished out her present.
'This is for you,' she said, 'I know it's not very good and it got a bit crumpled since I was carrying it an-,' but the rest of Isobelle's sentence never came out because Jacinta was so extremely pleased with her present that she almost knocked Isobelle right out of the sleigh in her enthusiasm.
'Thankyou Isobelle!' she said, her voice about five times louder than it usually was (and that was saying something!,' 'It's so wonderful, it looks just like me, this is the best present OF ALL TIME. Happy Luminaire, Isobelle, this is the best Luminaire ever.'

'Happy Luminaire', replied Isobelle. 'Now let's go home, Marlow!'
