Fathers scythe sings while it cuts through the air, the last enemy hits the ground, and will never stand up again. I turn around, looking into the faces of those fearless warriors that would go through hell with me just to save our kingdom. I am proud of them, of every single one. This day was tough, we have many wounded men, but none of them is really in danger. I'm grateful for that. We cannot stand losing even one of them. I can see Ara, our healer, kneeling down to the worst of the wounded men. He is only my age, young and reckless, but a good fighter. They are all good fighters. I am thankful to my father, who taught me how to fight. Who would have ever thought I would lead the last troop that Kraill has? I, for sure, hadn't.
Not even two years ago, Kraill was the richest kingdom in the south. Our economy was great, we traded with the kingdoms around us, everyone was happy. But then one night the moon turned red. Father called for me, his voice exhausted and sad. The day had finally come. We will have to fight, he said. I recruited every adult who was willing and able and we protected our borders as well as we could. It was hopeless. That night, Kraill fell. My father was killed by an assassin, but they didn't get what they wanted. The Stone of Wisdom was not with my father, it was with me. A sacrilege, to be sure, but he had foreseen this situation and given it into my hands. The last words he had said to me were a task."Daughter," he said, "Take the stone and find the twelve sealed souls of the elders. Take the Bloodred Moonstone with you, and when you have all the stones, destroy them, so there will never be a war like this again." I promised him, kissed him goodbye, and fled with a group of warriors, the Kings Guards, into the woods.
I heard what happened to my father a few days later from one of the guards, who heard it in the marketplace. It was the worst day of my life. We had a mission however, and I was not willing to give up. Our lives, the life of our kingdom, were lying in my hands, and in my group’s hands. The intruders had not killed civilians; they only aimed for those who fought. It was sad, because many of them had families in the villages. Somehow, they will survive, I'm sure, until I can return to my kingdom. I am the queen now, but nobody knows. They all think I am dead, my body hidden somewhere. Even the intruders think that. But they are all wrong. Soon I will return and then I will claim my throne and lead my kingdom into new glory again.
