This cycle continued twice more until he gave up on his “family” at the age of 17 and decided to leave off on his own; a decision that was met with a reward. Wandering dangerous streets at night, it wasn’t a place for someone his age and he found out the hard way as he was jumped by a gang of muggers. He was able to put up a good fight and had thought that he would be able to fend them off, but someone snuck in a strike from behind and rendered him unconscious. They took all his belongings. Waking up a while later, the sky was strangely darker and an ominous air lingered over the area now devoid of any source of light. Lee was barely able to see his own hands, but a voice snapped his attention away from the sudden darkness, echoing around him.
The voice radiated with strength and caused tremors in the area, inciting Lee with fear. He didn’t know what was going on, but suddenly he was bathed in crimson flames. The flames felt invigorating and empowering and he felt that they were under his control.
The voice boomed, rendering him unconscious yet again.
The next day, he awoke with no recollection of what transpired; sprawled on a street with police en route to his position. The crescendo of sirens indicated that something was wrong, but it was something much worse. Staining his clothing was a red substance that could only be confirmed as blood and the area around him was littered with dead bodies—bodies that happened to be the very gang that mugged him earlier. One’s first reaction to seeing this would be to run, but utter shock took over and he couldn’t find himself to do anything but tell himself that he was innocent of this murder…which didn’t fly with the authorities later. Taken in for questioning once the police arrived, the interrogation wasn’t easy and the more he denied the murders, the worse his situation became. Locked away and afraid of facing possible execution, he wanted to get away…and a miracle happened. With the utter will of surviving and wanting to get away, it triggered something unearthly and Lee’s form expelled a torrent of crimson flames that flooded the jail hall and completely incinerated his cell bars. Walking out of the cell, it seemed as if he wasn’t in control of his body—as if he was watching himself.
Surrounded by police he surged forward rapidly and everything was strangely slow. He began pulling off techniques and movements that he didn’t even know he was capable of. Before he knew it, he was out of prison and running with his life on the line, though yet again, he couldn’t recall why he was running—just that he had to get away.
