"My parents told me I had stars in my eyes."

Closing her eyes, she softly brushed her fingertips down the taut strings.

One strum to center herself.
Second strum to quiet the room, not that it was ever necessary.

"Hey!" Crushing every blooming flower that was reaching up through the soft patches of fog toward the gentle sun, he ran toward Lianu, who had set herself up under a small tree that was growing sideways despite the stiff wooden slats it was locked to.
He could only see the top of her head over the thick bushel of leaves but only she would sit out in an empty field at seven am.

Tossing his backpack onto a large patch of flowers at Lianu's left, he narrowly missed her pile of notebooks and pens.
"Hey! You said we could have breakfast when you got up, what are you doing out here." Rounding the tree as he spoke, he looked over the open notebook in her lap.
"Do you know how hard it was to find you? I had to call seven different people, and then there was the journey. I only wanted some pancakes!""Sorry, I forgot." She kept her eyes closed as she filled in the small doodle of a sheep.

"A field. It's like Zero degrees out here. You're wearing a sun dress and mittens. Why? You could of done this at your apartment." Shuffling his feet, on top of another blooming patch no less, he couldn't understand why she would be wearing winter boots and mittens with a bright yellow sun dress in the middle of fall.

Finally opening her eyes, she remarked at how skillful he was at killing every flower in the large field.
She meant to just take a short walk through the warmed, heated halls of her apartment as she waited for Jeremy but before she was out the door; she had put on boots, mittens, her favorite autumn scarf, and had an armful of notebooks and pens. She was a little surprised herself when she found herself sitting in a field but wasn't one to complain and simply went with it. Opening a notebook and writing or drawing what her hands felt like.
