Hour 1.

It was time to pick a spot. I gazed over the dark water in the basement of Mt. Coronet - a huge lake that had been collecting water for hundreds of years. In these waters, I would find it... eventually.

Hour 2.

My fishing rod twitched and my heartbeat quickened. Maybe that was it already? My dream Pokémon? I pulled it out with a great swing, only to be greeted by... another Magicarp. A sigh escaped my lips before I heard a soft neighing, as well as felt a head on my shoulder. I smiled at my Ponyta, Selina, rubbing her cheek. "Thanks."

Hour 3.

The excitement was still written all over my face whenever I changed my fishing spot. Each time, I would have a new chance to encounter it. Occasionally, I saw a Zubat flying past me - flying speed immediately increasing when I gave it a glare. "No time for you guys..."

Hour 4.

My stomach started growling. I held the rod with my feet tightly, careful not to let it slip, in case I should have a bite. Carefully, I fumbled out my lunchbox and took a bite out of my sandwich. I enjoyed the sweet berry jam taste, closing my eyes in delight. "Oh...", I remembered, looking at my loyal companion. "Here you go!", I exclaimed, offering her her favorite Poffins on a plate.

Hour 5.

The first yawn escaped my throat. Most likely because I was tired from having a full stomach, but tiredness was not what I needed right now. It would make me careless, distracted. What would be the best solution for this?

Hour 6.

One, two, three. I ran on the same spot, waking up those tired muscles. It had been a while since I started, and I felt my spirits return to me. The thought of acquiring the most beautiful Pokémon... I imagined breeding it, giving them to my friends so they wouldn't have to spend hours looking for one as well. Once I felt confident that I was awake enough again, I walked the few steps back to my fishing rod. I popped a Poffin into my Garchomp's jaw, silently thanking him that way.

Hour 7.

Unlike me, my equine companion took her time to rest now. Her blue flames illuminated the cave and part of the water, attracting more fish. More fish I did not need, in fact, but I was getting there. The little heart attacks I got from each bite slowly started to subside after countless Magicarp and Barboach.

Hour 8.

How long had it been already? I lazily glanced at my Pokétch. "Oh, quite some hours..." I mumbled, getitng up to move to another spot again. Right before I wanted to sit down and cast the fishing rod again, something flew into my face. I screeched loudly in surprise, using my arms to grab whatever it was and throw it away. The poor creature landed on my napping Ponyta, causing her to wake up and run around in panic as well, making similar sounds as me. My Garchomp just shook his head, facepalming.

Hour 9.

Huddled against my fire Pokémon in order to avoid more bats jumping at me, I continued my search. Endless search, as it started to feel like. Using my Pokétch to look up other trainer's experiences on the internet didn't help at all. "Took me three days, then I gave up." "Fourteen hours until it happened!" This would probably take a while. Hopefully, my patience would pay off.

Hour 10.

Drip. Drip. This spot was no good, I felt it. Literally, judging by the never ending water drops from the ceiling hitting the tip of my nose. However, I didn't let it break my concentration. For a change, I called BATTLELORE, my shiny Giratina, to fight off all unwanted fish. Not this one, not this one... None of them were my ugly little critter, able to turn into one of the most graceful of all Pokémon.

Hour 11.

Hair brushing time! After my arms had started becoming sore from lack of movement, I had decided to offer my Luxray some grooming - which he gladly accepted. Garchomp had taken the role of watching over the fishing rod for the while being again. Sitting on top of my Giratina, I had my lion Pokémon sprawled over my lap, obviously enjoying the little attention.

Hour 12.

I smiled to my four Pokémon once I was done grooming and feeding all of them. Talking about feeding - it seemed to be time for dinner for me now. Taking some rice curry leftovers out of my bag, I figured I had to heat it up somehow. Selina neighed happily as she lit up a makeshift fireplace so I could use my travelling pan to put the curry in. "Mhh, smells delicious..." I smiled, digging into it once it was ready.

Hour 13.

A lot of spot changing was happening now. More fish than usually bit the hook, probably attracted from the curry smell...? Since I was almost out of baits, I started using leftover rice corns as bait. They surprisingly did attract more attention - although still not from the Pokémon I wanted.

Hour 14.

"Oww! Ow!" My neck was cramping horribly. I sighed thankfully when all my Pokémon came running, worried about my health. My Gardevoir, Lady, whom I had also released from her Pokéball by now, offered to give me a massage. I accepted gladly, slowly feeling the pain go away. I was glad that I had brought so many Poffins along. Hopefully, this wouldn't take much longer...

Hour 15.

My eyes started closing on their own again. What time was it? Most likely night already. I couldn't see any lights from outside, since we were underground... but my tent was with me, just in case. I didn't want to give up yet, though, since the Feebas spots changed every day. Meaning, tomorrow, all the places I had already tried fishing at, could hold one again. My work? Would have basicially been for nothing, then... and I would have to start over. No, not going to happen. No sleep!

Hour 16.

My coffee thermos helped me greatly. Yes, I had planned ahead! I could definitely say that I was prepared, even if it just was this once. But I had a goal. One I would not give up on, even if I fell asleep and would get dragged into the lake by a Gyarados. "I spy with my little eye... something green.", I stated, looking at my Ponyta beside me. Her gaze went around the cave. It didn't have much to offer, honestly, but we had to kill some time during the monotone fishing. When her head's movement stopped, I followed the direction. "Yes... that mossy rock!". I chuckled, petting her.

Hour 17.

I paced along the shore nervously. I would assume it'd be close to midnight. The feared reset was near... but what could I do? "Guys!", I decided, grabbing all of my stuff in a hurry. "Let's go all the way to the other side, for some last attempts!" After some confused looks, they followed obediently. Arriving at the far northeast of the lake, I threw my fishing rod for some last attempts. A last wave of excitement hit me when I felt a pull and saw a golden shimmer beneath the surface. Feebas was cream colored, so could it be...? I dragged it up with all my strength, only to find... a shiny Magicarp? A tiny bit of disappointment washed over me, but then I thought "It's a shiny, that's really lucky! Even though everyone has a 'free' shiny Gyarados..." Catching it effortlessly, I put away the ball, grinning. Shiny was shiny, and after all, it was only my third after Ponyta and Giratina. Going in for another round, I didn't know I was in for a surprise at my shiny Magicarp spot, because, what I pulled out next... My heart skipped a beat, as my eyes met dark circled ones that were now landing on the stone floor, flapping helplessly. I couldn't help but stare and pinch my arm. How long had it been? Certainly too long... My fingers started trembling as I fumbled for a Pokéball on my belt. Taking a step forward, I felt myself falling towards the deep waters. The impact, however, never came. When I opened my eyes, I found all my Pokémon surrounding me, holding me in place. Teary-eyed, I nodded to them, grabbing the ball and throwing it at the pitiful creature. As soon as it stopped moving, signalling its capture, I grabbed it and jumped high in the air. "Yes!!! Yes!! I'm so happy!" I called out my new companion, holding it in my arms. Cheering was heard from my teammates, and I took the time to give each of them a big hug. "Now to you..." I grinned maliciously, eyes on the concerned water creature in my arms. Dozens of dry Poffins being forcefed later, it - no, he, apparently, started glowing. Excited like never before, I followed every movement of his growth, until the area darkened down again. I marveled at the beauty before me, immediately hugging him by the neck. "Miii...", he uttered nervously, still a bit shy. When he saw my happy team around me, however, he also offered a small smile.

"Welcome, Milotic."
