Once upon a time, there was a brave knight by the name of Jasper. Jasper was a new knight, and didn't know much about being a knight. One day while guarding the kingdom, he came across a beautiful woman by the name of Ash. Ash was the fairest maiden Jasper had ever lain eyes upon. She tempted him with beauty and kind words, and soon they spent the next year together. As time went by, things were changing between Jasper and Ash. Ash began to show her true colors, and one day, Jasper realized Ash was an evil enchantress who was really out to steal Jasper's soul! Jasper fought and he fought, but he couldn't get away. The turmoil and terror caused him defeat, and Ash left with part of his soul, most of his knowledge, and granted Jasper loneliness and depression for the next 50 moons. Jasper was de-knighted, and left a pauper. He wandered until he found a small village to take him in. He found a small pond where he would go to recount his days at the castle. One day, a small talking fish swam to Jasper and talked to him. The fish's name was Caleb. Caleb was a very happy fish, and would always come up to Jasper to ask for food in exchange for advice. One day, Jasper was called to a blacksmithing job across the way. He wanted to accept due to money, but poor Caleb would miss Jasper greatly. So, with all his might, Jasper forged a glass bowl for Caleb, and took him out of the pond. Caleb lived with Jasper for quite some time. Jasper grew older, and Caleb grew bigger. Soon, they had become wonderful friends. Jasper even introduced Caleb to his life partner, Phillip the panda goldfish. Everything had been going smoothly for a long time. Jasper even began to gain confidence and happiness in life.
One terrible day, however, Jasper noticed Caleb was off. Caleb seemed sick, and Jasper knew this was no ordinary illness. Caleb insisted he was fine, but both Phillip and Jasper knew something was not right. Jasper gained insight from books and medicine men, and soon learned Caleb was terminally ill. Jasper did all he could for the illness. He grew herbs to feed to Caleb, bought medicine from the medicine men, and even created his own medicines. Caleb improved slightly, but his illness finally took a toll. Caleb was escorted to the doctor's office. However, Jasper insisted he stay with Phillip in their own home, and a home death was arranged. Caleb slept for the last time, with Phillip by his side. The next morning, Caleb was given a proper funeral back in the pond where he had came from. Prayers were spoken, and tears were had. Phillip was depressed for a long time, but Caleb's magic words had stuck with both Phillip and Jasper, as they both knew Caleb had touched their souls with his kind words. Phillip eventually moved on to another town, and Jasper eventually grew to become king of his own town. The rest of them lived by Caleb's words for the rest of their days, and they both lived rich and fulfilling lives.

(This story is partially based off a true story. Less with the knights and more about the fact that Jasper owned two goldfish with the same names, one terminal, the other donated to another home. R.I.P Caleb. May your happy fishy soul still rest in peace with the other fishy souls.)
