Thursday has a special bond with the mute Wood. She is the only one he will spend any length of time with, and I believe she is the only one that understands him. Sometimes I see them sitting together, not saying a word, but looking as if they are conversing silently.

Wood met Thursday in his first trip through the portal. He ended up in her 'parallel' teashop, where she waitressed for a tyrannical owner that she owed money to. With Winston's help, Wood was able to best the oriental tea shop owner in a game of mahjongg, and won the tea shop from him. For good measure, Noah and Winston gave the owner a sum of money to guarantee his absence was permanent, and took on the second tea shop for themselves. The English trio granted Thursday her freedom, but on realising she had no where else to really go, she decided to stay to waitress for them in both tea shops, using the portal. Wood found Thursday both beautiful and quick-witted, and they formed a steadfast alliance that would last a lifetime.

The mixture of cultures that the portal was able to create gave the group a significant advantage in the consumer market, which subsequently gave them enough money to fund the many projects they embarked upon. When a tea tax was implemented in the Crew's home area, they were the only teashop able to continue supplying tea to the public using the leaves collected from Thursday's home region. This was a dangerous business, but Winston's quick thinking, Noah's charm, and Gideon's sheer intimidating size was enough to keep the police off of the Crew's back on multiple occasions!

Since Thursday's ties with the tyrannical owner have been severed, she's gone back to her original love for the orient. She embraces her culture now; dragons, oriental cuisine and symbols of luck interest Thursday immensely (Gideon was very pleased to hear this, and visits Thursday's cafe regularly to stretch out his wings on the surrounding mountains) and she adores to paint her face in the style of the geisha. Perhaps also to capture the attentions and affections of Wood.

Thursday found Taro in the surrounding forest of the oriental teashop. Being a dragon of magical origin, he has been particularly useful in helping her scout out the very best tea leaves. His power is far greater than this, but he does enjoy having a master that asks so little of him!
