Light hearted, kind and thoughtful, Kender lives among the Galaxian monks in the Twilar Temple high in the mountains of Lo'aro, though he has not vowed to the ways of the monks. When a young boy, Kenders parents both died from a disease spreading through his village and in order to save his life, being one of the last not affected, he was taken in by the monks and raised by them, keeping him safe from the illness. Still he remained on the grounds of the temple, safe from the corruption of the outside world in all its forms.

He spends most of his time tending to his garden and bonsai trees, playing the flute to the birds, practicing his calligraphy and enjoying different forms of art.
