carelessly thrown on a shelf laden with dust, a lifeless plushie sits, counting the number of days she's been alone, wondering when her cumbersome life will tick away. heart in tandem with every breath, she sighs, wondering when her agonizing heartache will end. the monotony of everyday slowly crawls forward. people walk by, not even giving a second glance. she feels lonely. weak. ugly. is it her fault, or are people just too caught up in themselves to consider anybody else?

dust particles seem to dance around her frowning face, but she doesn't mind - after all, they were her only friends. the shelf is the only place she has ever known, and everyday she wonders if it will soon become what she will ever know. her hope of finding someone to love her begins to disintegrate. days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months. what a tragic life. after all, who could love a toy with a ripped shoulder and a seamless smile?
