Sleeping peacefully on a tree leaf lies Yoko, a tiny fairy no bigger than five or six inches. Another leaf above her head gives her protection from any potential sun that might seep its way through the trees and down on to her. Her bare feet dangle off the side, her hands under her head as a makeshift pillow.

The sound of running water woke her up to a lovely start. There were few things Yoko loved more than water and -- more importantly -- flowers. She kissed the leaf beneath her and murmured, "Good morning!" There was no sense of time in her world, all she knew was that the sun was out and that meant to rise and shine. She flounced her pretty self across the edge of the leaf and walked straight off -- only, instead of falling, she simply kept walking on, floating rather lightly through the air. She went to the water, lowering herself on a large boulder that rested rather oddly in the middle of the stream.

Despite being a fairy, there were few powers Yoko actually had -- she was, however, gifted with the touch of, well, flowers. Now, she couldn't create new species of flowers or bring back dead ones, but she could save the ones living that were close to the edge of dying. She could make one brighter, prettier, make it sparkle more in the sun. And -- now here's her favorite part -- she can create as many already existing flowers as she wants. Essentially, if she wanted a rose to grow in the middle of the stream, well, she could certainly do that.

As much as she'd like, she can't guarantee that anything will live. If she set the rose to grow in the middle of the stream, it would certainly grow -- but only for a little while, because a rose can't survive in a bed of water all the time. To prevent the deaths of more flowers, she rarely spouts them for pleasure or leisure, instead preferring to help the current ones along. Often, she finds herself sleeping among the pollen of the flowers she saves, or residing in the shade of their leaves.

Dipping her feet into the water with her body resting on top of the boulder, Yoko looked down at her reflection, her long silver hair obscuring her vision for a moment before she tucked it behind her ears. The flower in her hair -- a large Poinsettia, her undoubted favorite flower -- almost slid off her head and into the water, but she stopped it with her tiny hand. As she looked over to her left, she caught the reflection of a pixie in the waters reflection. Well.. her day is certainly about to get more interesting!
