% High School
Sebastien had a rough time at high school, and not just the usual type of hardship every teenager goes through. Despite being an above average-student, he did not appreciate having to go there five days a week. Sometimes he skipped classes – even whole days. Sebastien's history teacher did a great deal to upset him. Because of Sebastien's French heritage, his history teacher treated him differently – less nicely – than the rest of the students, and made fun of him, often with silly stereotypes. Maybe if Sebastien had not had many other things to struggle with he would not have had such a big problem with his history teacher and might have been able to react with humour.

In 11th grade Sebastien came out to his classmates as transsexual. For the first 2½ year of high school he had lived as the gender he was assigned at birth: female, but because he was longing for more than simply dressing in men's clothing he asked for teachers and his classmates to try and understand... which barely any of them did. The remaining 1½ year of his time in high school was more of a living hell than anything and Sebastien regretted ever saying anything to the people around him.

% 1 year sabbatical
After graduating from high school with exceptional grades in English, Sebastien took a year off from academics to work. Since his father had left him and his mum when Sebastien was a small child and his mum barely earned enough money for the two of them to get by, he needed to save up money to attend college. Working full-time, he managed to save enough money to also rent a place of his own so he would not have to deal with the difficulties of which dorm to be placed in. During this year he also started injecting hormones after much struggle with going to a psychiatrist and getting official permission to do so.

% College
Sebastien settled in quickly in his own apartment shortly before college began. He lives not far away from campus and uses his bike to get back and forth as a way of exercising and saving money for food and rent. He lives with his French bulldog Frank who provides huge doses of love and always welcomes Sebastien excitedly every time he comes home from classes.

Sebastien is focusing on his best abilities which lie in the English language area and, just like in high school, he impresses the teachers with greatly handled written assignments. Given the choice, he avoids anything that has to do with mathematics like the plague.
