Utou can best be described as a young girl who grew up far too fast.
Outstanding circumstances brought her into the care of her surrogate brother Koryu, and the world sheâ€™s witnessed up until now has left a deep impression on her. Never laughing, never smiling, always speaking coldly and curtly in as few words as necessary. At first glance she comes off as distant, rude and even a bit mean â€“ not the person anyone would want to willingly become friends with.

Itâ€™s a shame, really,
considering her icy exterior is just that â€“ an exterior. Scarred and jaded, sheâ€™s built a shield of scoffs and glares in order to spare herself from any more hurt. She tries so desperately to be an adult, thinking that might be the answer, and in avertedly makes her life harder because of it. Anyone who stays long enough to watch her defrost is rewarded with who Utou really, truly is: a little girl.

A little girl in love with stuffed toys
and flavored ice and watching re-runs of â€˜Pulp Fiction.â€™ A little girl that wants to be held and coddled and treated like the child she is. A little girl that, despite being so painfully vulnerable, can now be truly happy. Of course, the moment she feels threatened, her mind freezes up and itâ€™s back to square one.

Koryu is the only one
thatâ€™s permanently allowed beneath the ice. If not for him, her life would have ended long, long ago. Maybe this forced dependence is what gives such a blind eye to her â€˜brotherâ€™ and his disturbing antics. Though she doesnâ€™t mind her brotherâ€™s obsessive protectiveness over herâ€¦ itâ€™s steadily becoming something to truly be worried about.
