Sebastian Phoenix
Sebastian Phoenix (suh-BAS-tee-uhn FEE-niks) is the Chancellor of Subeta, elected directly by King Keith upon his retirement from the Subeta Republic. He and his cousin, Calvin Blackmoon, have greatly differing ideas on the future of Subeta.
Personality
Sebastian Phoenix is nothing if not benevolent. Even as a child, he was very kind in comparison to his more calculating and cold cousin, Calvin Blackmoon. Where Calvin would ignore almost everyone in favor of his machines, Sebastian would constantly be on the lookout for those in need. In this way he developed a reputation for kindness and charity from a young age.
Biography
As a boy he was also noted for his remarkable intelligence, never getting a low mark in his entire time at school--however, he was constantly outshone by Calvin, who got perfect scores without any effort at all. Between this and their conflicting personalities, Calvin and Sebastian became constant, embittered rivals.
Once out of school, they quickly went their separate ways. While Calvin was plotting to take over Atebus, his cousin was busy with Subetan relations, fast rising in the ranks of politics. As always, his benevolent and giving (except to Calvin) nature prevailed and aided him, even in the dog-eat-dog world of politicians. Besides his political endeavors, Sebastian also found himself enamored with exploring, and was (fittingly) the first to discover the reborn color many pets are found in today.
His hard work paid him well. Out of the blue, he was summoned before King Keith--something unheard of, due to the king's reclusive tendencies. Soon after it was publicly announced that his Highness was stepping down, leaving it in the hands of young Sebastian to preside over Subeta. So humbled by the thought was he, Sebastian used his power to instead call himself Chancellor, and created a senate to help oversee the lands with him.
Though as of late the Chancellor's integrity has been called into question, many still look to him as a pillar of strength and rightness. Still, he has to get away from politics occasionally--when not presiding over Senate, he can often be found with his close friend Kindred the lain, exploring uncharted regions.
