no, just random events that show up on any page. it's a little box that shows at the top of the page, some give you items like treasure map pieces, some give you sp, items, there's one that takes a tax amount of sp from your oh-hand sp. i don't have a screenshot of the treasure map event, but all of them will say 'random event' on top of the box, and they'll look something like this linky
