this is what my umbreon character looks like~ he has a brimmed gray beanie, and sometimes a red scarf if it's cold out, he is a normal umbreon, but he has blue eyes, and no forehead ring.

when he was a newly evolved umbreon, other kids-and even eevees laughed at him for not having a head ring. they all laughed at him... he felt lonely, so he ran away from his village.
one day when he was out foraging for berries to eat, he spotted a hat, he grabbed it with is teeth and ran into his hollowed tree. a few moments later he saw a large shadowy figure, it looked frantic-- could this hat be it's?
he peaked out of his den to see that the shadow was a trainer, before he could blink, the trainer threw a pokeball into the air, "come on out flutter!" and a flash of red followed with a large Altaria appeared. the umbreon stayed and watched in the shadow of the tree, he heard the trainer talking to the Altaria, "hey, flutter-- help me find my hat, i left it just right here--" the Altaria squawked and replied; "yes ma'am" and the Altaria shot up into the air like a rocket. the umbreon blinked... this is it's hat... i must return it.
the umbreon sneaked a little closer to the trainer, and a little closer, and a little closer until -- "ah excuse me ma'am, is this your hat?" the umbreon murmured, the trainer just jumped slightly in surprise, but then turned around, and looked down at the umbreon laying on the ground with her hat in his mouth. "why yes, thank you umbreon. may i have it back please?"
she reached down to take it from him, "b-but i rather like this hat... may i keep it...?" he stuttered, she paused, then stood back up, she thought to herself... "ah , i have an idea, if you like my hat so much, why don't you come along on a journey with me and i'll let you wear my hat?" the umbreon's eyes widened, "oh really? oh joy! are you a kind trainer that loves adventure?" he asked, he giggled, "of course i am umbreon!" he got up, and pranced a little in front of her, "oh, and i have another question trainer,--" she interrupts, "yes what?" he blushes and looks down, "will you like me even if i'm not a normal umbreon like all the rest?" he looked up at her with tears in his eyes,
"of course i will umbreon, what makes you different, makes you special-and no one should be made fun of, just for being different." she swatted down, and rubbed the umbreon's head. "well then are you ready to come along?" she asked him, he paused and looked back towards his village. "yes- trainer, but may i have a nick name please? oh, and what's your name?"
she giggled again, my name's Alex, hummm.... how about zaferoi? do you like that name for you?" he jumped in the air, "that's a wonderful name!" and Alex stood up and said, "flutter return-" a flash of light and the Altaria was back.
Alex turned and looked at zaferoi, "do you want a pokeball, or do you want to be at my side?" he looked up, "at your side , my lady if you please!" she laughed, and said ok, then she placed her hat on his head and they were off on their grand journey.
