Brief Introduction
Hi there! My name is Lisa. Liasha is a nickname of mine I've had for as long as I can remember (it's a combination of my first and middle name), but I also answer to Li as well. I'm 26 years old and I live in New York, but not in the big city. I live further Upstate, away from the hustle and bustle of city life (for the most part.)
I've been on Subeta for a while now and I love it. It's an escape for me from my real life and my health problems, because in June of 2010 after four lung collapses, I was diagnosed with a rare, fatal lung disease called:
Lymphangioleiomyomatosis.
People call it LAM for short. I'm on oxygen 24/7 and unfortunately, there is no cure or treatment for this disease. It's very likely I will need a double lung transplant sometime in my future in order to prolong my life, but this isn't a guarantee because LAM can attack the new lungs. That is, if I can survive the surgery itself, the risks of infection/rejection, and all the other complications transplant can bring.. but it's the best shot I have.
Anyways, enough of the doom and gloom. I often try to remain as positive as I can because your attitude determines your altitude, right? Dwelling in negativity certainly doesn't help, and it's not in any way productive. So on Subeta, I'm working on getting all stickers, plushies and beanbags I don't already have in my collections, (a huge goal, I know), and am also semi-addicted to getting achievements.
