I agree. This seems as much a posting contest as a popularity contest, with the people having the most friends on Subeta and/or posting the most getting more likes just because their HA is seen more.
A new chance bag is always great though.

I'm not really sure what I should think about the new contest. For one that you have to be active in the forums and for another that you can change your HA. Imho it messes the results up. I hope this is not the general new style of HA contests. With this one being like this (since it kinda fits the 'fashion in centropolis' theme) I'm fine but I'd miss the old style contests if they were gone for good.
And since I don't want to only complain I have to say the chance bag holds some really nice items. :)

I'm questioning the weight change for the chance bags. I kept getting doubles of everything I have opened. So same item twice in a row, then switches to another item and I get two of those. This has happened for about 15 ish bag. Anyone else have this happen??
Has anyone gotten the Romantic Espresso Curls? I haven't seen them anywhere and I'm sure a ton of those bags have been bought

Well, it doesn't matter whether people are bribed or not, really, since popularity contest and all. But people didn't like the old format either, so no complaining from me. Sounds fun doing an avatar contest that's not themed though! :D Better get to work! Funfun.
i feel like this would be more fair if it were run like the other HA contest, where you submitted a HA, and people voted anonymously, and the user of the HA was anonymous as well. this way it really is just based on liking good HAs and not liking HAs because of the user behind them.
To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the format of this contest. I liked that it was completely anonymous before, now I feel like it's going to turn into a popularity contest. 10 bucks the winner will be someone in a fashion cult with tons of friends to vote for them. Of course, this is coming from someone with only 2 close friends on subeta so maybe I'm just bitter :P

I've seen some people say there will be achievements for getting avatar "likes". If that's true, I wish the achievements would have been released at the same time as the event. I know I'm not going to win a top 10 prize, so I'd be able to set a different goal c: Achievements are motivating to me because it's not as competitive. Oh well, at least the achievement would probably be retro-active (if we get one) ^_^

Seems very female based in my opinion. I mean even the new chance bag is female oriented items. I'd just like to see more male items if an event like this is going to take place. The ratio between male and female wearables isn't really an even ratio so it is biased toward the female users. But good luck every body!
You just have to post on the forums to get your HA noticed. I know I'll be clicking the hearts on any I like without even looking at the username.

BUT i tend to agree more with the people that say we should go out and give it a shot and try and make pretty avatars anyways.

I like how we can change our HAs all we want without losing likes, but it /is/ gunna end up being a popularity contest. Still, it'll be fun, even though there's no chance of me winning.

Just because someone's popular doesn't mean their HA's going to be any good. Just make an effort and post a lot so people notice your HA.
People complaining about it being a popularity contest are going to have ugly avatars...
Popular avatar makers are recognized for a reason: they look good! Why should we stifle that if that's what we're ultimately looking for in this contest? Go out to the forum and get noticed! Everyone has a chance as long as they're posting. :)

I am not sure I like this way of doing things. Before it was anonymous (in theory) and not a popularity contest. I am not sure it is even worth the time and expense of putting together an avatar for the contest if you aren't a well known user this time around. I like the idea, not sure about the execution though.
Ahhh I think this is awesome. It'll be fun, but i can pretty much bet 20 dollars that the top winners will all be "well known" users.
