Like some others in this news post, I like everything about the waradow revamp except his face. The new face looks like a lost apprentice who's slightly confused about something, whereas the old is more neutral yet potentially ebil. I like the bigger eyes on the old one and the shape of the antlike face (the newer makes me somehow think of the smurfs and euggggh, that's not a thought I want to experience on Subeta).
I really like warador's new clothes but the hat needs to be fixed and I liked his old face better with the bigger eyes. :)
Glad to see that Warador is finally getting some love in a revamp and to me, everything looks great except for the hat and the face. Its probably just preference, but the hat (or the tassels anyway) looks too thick and, along with the collar, appear to be taking up a lot of space on and around his head. Which leads me to the next point, which is that Warador's face seems kinda off as well, almost squished; the eyes in particular seem small and cramped compared to the older version.
Other than that, the revamp looks awesome and is definitely needed for poor Warador.

honestly, these revamps were are and will be pretty stupid until you put up a poll that has an updated version of the original (art skillwise) and a new version of the same pet. these artists have skill but they lackj imagination, these revamps detract from the spirit of the pet.

I would suggest making the eye more bright and glowy so it stands out and looks unnatural/magic like the old one, making the hat a more medium size (the old one looks too thin to me and the new one looks too thick), making the body a bit thinner, and making it look more like it's looking at the viewer instead of staring off into space. I'm not sure how I feel about the skull on the neck. I like it there, but I feel like the hat is too bare without it and having the skull in both places would be too much. Maybe you could move the skull to the hat and put an oval or diamond shaped gem/cameo type thing on the collar.
However, my biggest concern is how the staffs will look on other colors of Warador. My favorite thing about them has always been that the different common pose Waradors all had differently shaped staffs (Arid's diamond, Dusk's moon, Twilight's star, etc.) and above all else I would like to see this preserved in the revamp.

The new Warador is excellent. It doesn't look so...juvinile and joker-ish. It looks more like the name of the pet that it's supposed to be - a warador. I always imagined the pet to be a darker, slightly evil kind of pet. This new look seems to make it perfect. I, of course, voted for the new version. Well done. Looks like this pet is gonna win the new revamp by a land slide! :D
I like the old hat better. And the old one looks more plushy. I like that about the old one.
I would also just like to add, that changing the placement of the skull would (imo, at least) meant that all the special colors(glade, glacier, reborn, nightmare, etc) would need to be revamped too, to reflect the new placement... and while some of them need a little work ( my poor bloodred for one, but don't change his evil, insane grin) some of them are just perfect how they are already.
The rendering on the new warador is great, but the mood has changed, and I'm all about the mood of my pet. The old waradors seemed cheeky and a bit defiant, and the new waradors seem depressed. The difference that make this mood change happen are:

* The eyes being smaller and the raised brow on the right less pronounced (the old one looked like it was cocking one eyebrow up)
* The cape just laying flat instead of flaring out behind him.

Oh my goodness very much yesssss. If the artist can spend just a wee bit more time rendering out that hat it would be perfect. Right now the way the contour is on that top point its looking like its a V shape all the way down to the little dangly~ Also consider there would be like a little pooch or fold underneath that since its coming forwards at us! Very awesome design though kudos to you!! 8D
My eyes are drawn to the newer version, but I like the skull on the hat a hell of a lot more than on the collar, (though I'm happy it's there at all) and it's a smidge too dark. I liked the bright color of the Waradors. :(
What people said about the nose was also true. It doesn't bother me too much but I much prefer Azulias's version more.
I guess the big question is, would the other Warador colors still have their unique staffs? Right now, all the "common" colors have different staff heads/spears and I'd hate for that to be lost.

though for he Warador, though I love the new cape and general update, I really do wish that the head, hat and upper part of the original cape would have stayed.. I'm not really a huge fan of how those turned out.. I really liked the original with the style, though I do like some of the changes that the update promises ^^ I really like the general outfit and the darker tone of the Warador, though I personally would've liked it better if the high part of the cape stayed and kept the original face and hat. but other than that, it's awesome! ^^

I liked the old versions hat tons more.
To me it looked better design wise and had a much nicer skull placement,
The glowing eye needs to be brighter on the new one too.

i like the more rouge-ish look of the old warador, but I do like the new style. so conflicted.
The new Chai looks absolutely adorable, but something about the Warador looks "not-Subeta" to me. The lines on its face are pretty thick and the shading, especially on the hat, looks a bit too blocky/sloppy. The hat is a bit too large, as well.
I really love the added details, though--the subtle checked pattern on the cape, the revamped staff, and the frills around its neck were all a great touch. Perhaps this suggestion is a little too radical, but why not nix the "evil living plushie" idea and make it into something organic? I think the design could be more successful that way, though I'm sure a lot of peoples' personalities and etc. for their Waradors would be ruined if that happened.

However, I do have a couple of issues. The hat absolutely reminds me of something made in 12 hours on Project Runway, from leftover scrapping items, while Tim Gunn stood by and expressed his concern. I'm not great at discussing art, so forgive me, please, if I don't convey this well. I think it's because the shading looks different from the rest of the pet - or maybe it's because the ball thingee is almost in the one eye, and it makes it difficult to tell what is what unless you stare at it for a bit.
Also, I like the skull on the cloak, but I really miss it on the hat. On the hat, along with the brim the skull is inset in, it adds structure to what would have to be, in its current form, a very, very floppy garment, and provides reason to expect the points to not all just be hanging down around its neck, the way they currently are. It would also provide a reason to get that one bell-thingee up away from the eye, so there isn't quite so much visual confusion between them.

The area where the eye and the forward bell is, is confusing. Because the edge of the bell touches the edge of the eye, it makes them look like they're next to each other when they're not. It makes it look kind of flat. Moving the bell just slightly away from that eye so there's a little bit of visible space there would help a ton. I think that's the issue that's causing people to think it looks weird.
I really like the new shape of the hat but the shading doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the pet which makes it look a little bit like it's pasted on from an older pet. I think if the lines showing the inside shapes of the hat were more soft and made more with the shading instead, it would help.
The chai really does look amazing. No critiques there. C:

As for the Warador, while it's not a favorite pet of mine, I must say the revamp is lovely, the normal eye looks...weird, I like the old version's eye better and the hat could look my plushie-like, like how the old one is..keeping the feathers would have been nice I think as well, other than that I say the revamp of it is nice :)
On second look, the hat looking flat might just be the size of the two tendrils on the side.

My issue with the Warador isn't so much the hat as the fact it looks about 8 months pregnant! I actually like the smaller body on the old one, other than that most of the features of the new design look pretty spiffy.
I really like the Warador update the only thing I personally think looks a little odd is his hat, it's not that it doesn't look like a hat because It does to me. I just think it doesn't look like it's made of material anymore , more like plastic? it's probably just the shading.

Idk I don't really "get" the new change. Overall I really love the new cape and color scheme though, but the head/hat is bothering me.

I think both the revamps are great. Love the cape and hat on the Warador, and the eye, which is more menacing now. I do agree, though, that the Warador looks less threatening overall with its little pout. That's not a critique from me, just an observation that the species has changed character somewhat with the revamp.
I love everything but the Warador's hat. I liked the slender version. It gives the character more motion and makes it look less like it's wearing an Escalade.

Le gasp I love chai's! So adorable!! I don't have any basic colored ones though, I have happily colored all the ones I own! :) The Warador looks awesome!! Maybe I will have to add one to my family one of these days.

I'm guessing that the majority of people would vote for the new one anyway if only by virtue of the fact that there's a drastic difference in art quality. It's not a choice between two different new revamps, so it seems that you should already know what the results will be...
Anyway, I personally don't have much to say about the Warador, but I hope the artist might take into account some of the feedback people have left here so far before releasing the final version. :)

The coloring seems really strange, the face looks cramped and lacks the expression we all distinguishably identify as a Warador's, I preferred the skull on the hat rather than on the cape, the cape ruffles by the neck just look off and the wand ...

Love the revamp, except for the hat. It doesn't look like a hat. I guess everybody is saying that, though. xD
But yeah, I agree, it'd be better if you slimmed the giant fat protrusions down a bit and enlarged the bells some.

I like the Compromise that Frieda has! The bells look better so can live with them on that hat design :D

There's something off about the Warador. I mean obviously it's better in terms of shading and color, but that hat looks more like deformities in a weird way... I do like the bells though.

I am a huge Warador Fan have 6 of them right now will get more when I have the space :)

1.New Hat/Hood does not look stuff and that is the main reason I love Warador's is the Plushie look throughout. So I think changing that up to not look so normal and puffy would help :)
2.I'm not to fond of the Jungle Bell aspect on the hat. That is what they look like to me little Jingle Bells. I get why they are there :)
3.I miss the Skull on the hat even tho it's on the Cape now.
4. Think the facial expression could be meaner/grumpier :D

General curiosity question: if, hypothetically, the Warador is revamped as is, how will that affect the special colors? Granted, most of them need to be revamped, but things like the Steamworks, Glade, and Angelic don't need to be. But changing the hat into a hood and removing the design on it would mean those colors wouldn't match the rest anymore.
The new Warador is so undeniably better, but I think the hat looks weird. It's too poofy/large.

Really like the new warador but I think the old had a more menacing shiny eye! Perhaps you could make it a bit brighter again. It'd get more attention and would also give a more mysterious look I think. Other than that awesome concept! I am usually skeptical about revamps but this one is awesome!
Ohhhh man. The Warador has always been one of my favourite pets, and while I never minded the outdated art, I did wish it would get a revamp, because Subeta has developed a very nice style and I'd love to see the Warador in it. I'm so excited to see this finally happen! Also really glad the colour scheme has been adjusted; I think that was very needed.

Finally, the Waradors get a revamp. Kudos to the artist who combined the ruffled collar with the now checker-lined cape.

I dunno... I don't really like the new Warador. One thing, and I know it may sound strange, but Waradors and Dillemas always seemed like immortal races to me, except they each have a weak-spot. Dillemas have their belly buttons, and Waradors have knots on their heads. Anyone that couldn't use fire could kill them, but not easily. Without the knot, Waradors seem overly powerful.

I have to comment again because i was surprised to see a couple people say they didn't like the shade of red used on the warador revamp (that's fine; they are entitled to their opinion, of course). But i do want to say that i personally love the darker shade used on the new one. I think it is so much nicer-looking and more appropriate for this pet than that brighter shade. Everything about the colors used on the revamp is perfect, in my opinion.

SUCH and improvement on the warador there. I'd be happy if it went through as it is, but if I could make some slight changes:
1) I'd modify the hat a bit, because like most people, I think it looks a bit odd. The middle point looks like it has a fold in the centre, and the shading on the side ones kind of suggests that they're supposed to have one too, but it doesn't really look like that; they just look really chunky, and it's hard to imagine how they're holding their shape.
2) I'd make the expression a little fiercer.
Other than that, it's great. Love the frilly cape collar, and I'm glad some of the excess stitching, tassels and ragged edges have been removed.

I do like the new shading on the new Warador, but I just feel like the revamp doesn't fit? I don't know, maybe it's the hat. Or the way the eyes/eyebrows(?) are done in general. Other than that, I actually like it. The shade of red used though, not too sure about that.
I love the new Chai and the proposed Warador revamp is amazing as well - too bad it's not the final version, I would like to keep it like that. :')
I don't know if I'm the only one, but the new Warador look a bit too "chibi-fied" to me!
I love everything about the glacier warador and graveyard warador and was hoping that the basic one would be going slightly more into that direction artwise. I don't think it's all bad, but it's not quite there yet. I'd definitely try to keep the spikiness of the old hat and the symbol (skull/snowflake/moon/...) on it, because it was adding a lot of character to the single colours imo. And maybe make the body a tad bit smaller (so that the legs are a bit longer) to take away the whole Chibi-feel? ^_^

Now, out of the Warador... While people dislike the hat, I actually like it, it's a better way to approach it. My sole complaint is the staff. It doesn't look metallic/plastic enough, the shading could use some more contrast. The face could use a more evil glimpse, but that's about it.

A few things worth noting about the new Warador, for me:
- I, like most people here, prefer the older hat compared to the new one. Probably because the old one had a sense of "plushie-ness" to it, if you know what I mean
- Also, I prefer the expression on the old one, mainly due to the old one looking more fiercer/disgruntled. The new one comes across to me as feeling slightly sad IMO

I'm loving the new warador for the most part. I think I would like to see the hat made a bit thinner, similar to the old style. It would balance out the chunky look the rest of him has quite nicely. And maybe a little more attitude in the expression would be good. The old one has just a little more to his face that makes you wonder what he's thinking which is a great element. The artwork is fantastic and overall I would welcome the update. Nicely done!
I'm going to agree with a lot of people about the face being bothersome. From the neck down he looks fabulous, but the face really looks nothing like the old one? And the hat, especially the center spike has some serious shading issues making it look less like one spike and more like two? Maybe go back to using the dashed seems? Also, not sure where his feather went, but hope it comes back. Can't wait to see where this goes, I actually think if he's tweaked some more I could see myself getting some C: ANNNNND omg the new Chai shading is frickin' so amazing idk what to do with myself.
Waradors are one of the reason I joined subeta. I really don't like that hood thing, but everything else looks great. I am just thinking that the glacier warador (my favourite) will probably need to have an update to look more like this and really I don't feel the glacier one needs it. I was hoping the common warador would get an update to look similar to the glacier one really. Just my thoughts on the matter. Otherwise I think it looks really good. I need to think more before voting on this one.
I really don't like the new Waradore's face... It looks... Bland. There's no personality. :(
The body of the warador looks awesome, but the head area bothers me. Its nose and mouth look super weird and its expression doesn't have quite as much attitude as the old warador. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about his face paint/markings. In the old warador, they it looks more like a scar to me, like he had lost his eye which left a scar and then the freaky eye looking thing was the replacement eye. But in the newer one it looks like face paint/markings which is kinda cool, but I liked the scar look better, makes it more mysterious and I think suits the warador better. Maybe you could incorporate both? And the hat just looks...strange. Like other people have said, too chunky and just..weird-looking.
Really like the new warador. I think some minor changes would do well though- such as making the hat with four points and making him more... red. He's kinda more maroon right now, and it just doesn't have the same feel.

Loving everything about the new Warador other than the hat and the overly thick staff. Except for the lovely new bells, the hat looks more like a mutant pompadour than a jester's cap. The overall new color scheme, especially the new cape, is wonderful. Great artwork, this guy really needed some love!
i have a couple waradors and have been looking forward to their inevitable revamp...until i saw the new version with that hat. it looks way too chunky and stiff and only has 3 points. Also, the face seems off...like the nose is smooshed up and to my left. don't get me wrong...the new art is a far cry better than the old version with fantastic shading and an amazing cape and staff...but the huge honkin hat and slightly "off" face made me vote for the original. If there had been a 3rd option that combined the look and feel of the original face/hat with the much better quality of art and the body of the revamp, i would have voted for that in a heartbeat. i'm hoping there will be a tweaked version we can vote on.

The new warador's body looks like a great revamp. I'm not convinced with the face or hat at all, though. I can't work out if each section of the hat is regular old harlequin hat style or if it's supposed to look like each section has 6/8 sides kinda like a star fruit. The shading is completely messing up perspective for me. The face looks like an afterthought.
Usually I don't like the changes but I gotta admit it's a nice one. Still don't like the pet though :/

Honestly, I am very impressed with the new Warador. I like the darker tone, and the art itself is very much improved. But I do not like the new hat at all; I much prefer the four tipped, plushie styled one. If they could just keep the hat, I'd be absolutely in love with the new art. The new hat just looks too awkward for me, unfortunately.
The first thing i thought of when i saw the new hat was that it reminded me of the escalade's head. Since two of my first pets were a warador and an escalade, maybe that's part of why i actually like it. XD I admit it looks rather chunky, but i have a couple of Halloween costume jester hoods that are made of stuffed fabric just like this is supposed to be and they're pretty stiff and chunky too. I could go either way as to the shape and number of the hat dangles but i do really prefer the idea of it being a hood.
The new art for the Warador is of excellent quality and much better than the current version. :) However, I am not fond of it overall. The hat looks odd to me, the way it is drawn gives it the appearance of each tassel curving in towards the face, as thought it were wired, rather than simply hanging. The face is what bugs me most though.

I've always been one of the warador's biggest fans and i was honestly pretty scared of their inevitable revamp, but WOW, i really like this! :D All the little details are wonderful...and i actually like the hat and the way it appears to be a hood now, and has actual jingle bells instead of just dangly things. I wonder what will be done for all the non-standard poses. One of my favorite things about waradors is their different expressions (some of them have big crazy toothy grins, some just a creepy little smirk)...as long as they keep those, which really give them a lot of individual personality, i would be quite happy to see them all updated to this style.
Love the chai update! Not so sure on the Warador. I wish the hat still had the same plushie style look of the old one, so my vote went to the original due to that. The coloring is great though, and the clothing seems more modern.

I like the new warador, but like a lot are mentioning, the hat looks ... weird, more metal than soft... and the left leg/foot looks funny to me. The overall update is such a drastic improvement, don't let some minor disagreements stop the lovely from coming forth.
I'm not 100% on the Warador but I'm just glad the thing FINALLY got a revamp. (ontothemontreandtheserpenthyes?)

The hat is just too chunky and the cape is a little too darth-vader-y IMHO. But compared to the old one, it wins hands down. I never really liked this species at all though.
I think the Warador's hat and... right eye I think? the normal one look a bit off, but otherwise I like it quite a bit. Make the front tassel start a bit higher/a bit smaller maybe? It really does need the revamp. Also the chai looks good!

Yes, I also like the thinner hat tails of the old hat better. While I appreciate that the new art is much better... if this change does go through, I will be looking for some other species for Siephora. Which would make me very sad, she has been an arid warador since I got her. (Also, probably dreaming, but if revampped, can the arid stay being just black and while and not have any red like the other arids?? <3)
I really like the skull piece being moved to the neck, and the cape looks great. The new hat is a little thick in my opinion, but I like the bells. Nice improvement for sure!

Also yes I definitely agree about the hat being odd. I think it needs the old amount of smaller tassels, and to not have a tassel nearly dangling in the face like that.
the red in the hands and the staff seem to blend a lot? and the face could use a bit of touching up. And maybe a less chunk hat? I really like the new idea of it being a hood, though.

chai is super cute! i love the new warador, although the hat sort of bugs me. i wish the drooping parts looked more like drooping cloth (for example, folds beneath the bent areas) rather than a stiff hat sewn into a drooped position. otherwise it's a great turn in the right direction!

Oh my gosh, the Chai looks adorable! Much softer than the old one, but still kept the kindness that the old design had. For the Warador, I love the body, but the face looks a little too squashed for my taste. I think the head may need to be a little bigger, or have just a little more neck.
Overall I like the new warador, but I think it could use some more stitch lines to look more stuffed.
Normally I find myself very against drastic changes to pets, but OMG I actually am really happy with how the Warador looks. :) I used to dread the day that my Comedy-and-Tragedy would be stuck with updated art but OMG bring it!!!! It's so much better than I could've hoped for and the Chai is so sweet looking!!! Love these. :D
Something about the hat is really off but I can't place it, I feel like it's too fat/stuffy or something is just off about it. But otherwise I reallyyyy realllyyy love it, very rarely have I loved a revamp as much as this!

That warador is niiiiice. I especially like the changes to the cloak and hat and the position of the skull. It seems to make more sense on the cloak. I hope this becomes a thing!
