Fringe Magazine Update
There has been a change to the way the current, and future, fringe magazines work. Instead of opening the magazine to get a random coupon, you can now just buy the coupon directly from the Cash Shop. The actual magazines in the future will only be books, instead of having the option to open for a random coupon.
The Fringe Magazine Spring 2014 Edition still has the option to open, though!

Oh, wow. This is a really great improvement! As much as I love the Fringe Magazine wigs, I hated the risk of ending up with a bunch that I didn't want - which was usually the case for me. Thank you so much for making this change!
Loving this so much more. Ive never purchased them before because it was random and I always got hairs I didnt want. This is so much more worth it!
Eh, that's cool and useful encase you only like one hair and not the others. I think it's more fun to get something out of the book but that's just my opinion. I do like the ability to get it out of the cash shop too.
Can we have it the way Wolf_Spirit described it? n That sounds much better than having two seperate entities of books and coupons . Also can you imagine how the cs would look having multiple fringe and hopefully very soon vanity zines content shudders

This is so much better. I hate chance shit from the cash shop. If I'm spending real money out of my pocket, I want to buy exactly what I want. Chance would be better used anywhere but the cash shop. <3

personally, i'd prefer the mags to work as Wolf_Spirit suggested where they would work as the monthly collection bags do, i.e. open the mag and pick a coupon
it'd make sense that way considering that in actual hairstyle mags, they have pages where you can "clip" the hairstyles you want to bring to the salon (which is literally what you would be doing here)

This is great idea. Leaving it as a magazine in the future for those who want to just have it to read to pets or treasure. AND allowing users to get the exact hair they want without the possibility of getting one they do not want. Nice. :) Appreciate this

Yessss I never buy the hairs I want until they are in user shops so at least now they wont cost me 40mil each xD
I know this makes a lot of users happy, but I did really like the Fringe magazines to put in my pet Fringie's treasure.

There are enough books.. just ditch them. Speaking of needing the mags to read.... I would like to see both the early Spring magazines re-released somehow though... since they've been missed during the Black Friday sales.... I feel as if they'll sit on my WL forever now.

I approve of this change! No more spending a crapload of money I don't have just to end up with a bunch of coupons that were not the one I wanted! Woot!

That is such a nice chance, I am glad the cash shop is going to have less random stuff, it's annoying to be 30m sp for a wig which someone got for 250csc xP

We are keeping the book around (as a book) because people do like them for the readable option + TC use. We have been trying to move away from where you have to buy x item to choose to get y item (examples: trunks like so coy, transformable minions, etc.)
Thank you Keith and staff, this makes me very happy. Just the randomness of getting 3 (or more) of the same hairstyle drove me crazy.
I know I didn't buy this season's magazine yet for that reason.

Yeah!!! Thank you so much subeta for doing this!!!!! :heart: I never really liked to gamble anyway so I did never bought a magazine before, but I did bought a whole lot of coupons when they were in the CS :blush:

I can understand the keeping of the magazines. Some people might horde for collections or tc's. They are kind of neat lookingo 3o

Plus, if you keep the magazines and have the coupons separate, you just know there's going to be confusion in the future. People who missed this change will end up buying the magazine for coupons, only to be disappointed when they find that it's just a book.
While I love this change don't get me wrong (as a person who only buys coupons for character hairfuel, I'm sure I'd be a lot more likely to just buy a coupon I want vs. not buying squat because that's too much gambling for a person who never changes her HA sans maybe a BG change)... I have to say I don't really understand the reasoning behind still making a book but it's only a book and otherwise now unrelated to the hair coupons?
Why not just nix the book entirely (like I think book collectors have been gouged more than anyone else this year, everytime I turn around there's more high dollar books in the MC or CS)? Or make it where the mag/book functions like a collection item? As in you have the read options + "pick a hair coupon" link that takes you to all the hair coupons so you can pick one? Then people wouldn't have to impulse buy hair coupons they might like, and can instead just grab a few mags and decide when they know what they want?

Love this so much more. I never bought them in the past because I was always afraid I'd get a coupon I didn't want and reselling them is challenging.
Boo. I go for the male wigs, so the randomness always worked in my favor because they'd end up really cheap. Oh well. :P
