Changes to Major Drills Quest Pool
Major Drills quest pool has been updated! Throughout the year you have a slight chance of obtaining a retired item or an anniversary item from any previous anniversary.
For the rest of our 10th anniversary, however, you have a better chance of grabbing old anniversary items, especially the Ninth Anniversary Gift Bag!
In honor of this change, Major Drills has reset his quests. Enjoy going through his special brand of torture again!

I only got one 9th anniversary bag in 10 quests, but I can't complain about that when I also got two SBQ items!

I stopped doing Major's quests a long time ago because they became boring for me with the highest respect. All he ever asks me for is play that harpooning game and I can never find the critters he's looking for XD. I can go game after game and not find a single creature to count towards his quests so I end up failing them XD. Maybe I'll be fortunate this time and perhaps he will pick something fun to do. The quest prizes do look amazing so I may try Major's quest line again for the fun of it. Thank you kindly ^_^.

I am super happy about the reset, but now I am not receiving any of his game prizes?? Like the canes, hats, etc..
Well, this is kind of lame. I already had 71 bags in my gallery and more than enough of the prizes from them. :c Here's hoping for some retired items.

Man I haven't done any of his quests since that one event where we had to do them for some reason (what even was that? oO) And I still have 75 Ninth Anniversary Goody Bags in my vault. >>;
Figured as much but wanted to be 100%! He's where many of my retired SubQs came from. Just got a wear I didn't have as well so another plus!

So I think there might be a problem with the quests. It's very weird, I went to do mine, it asked for me to fragmentize 10 crystals and when I went back it also wanted me to feed my pet something (but this had not been there before). I'm gonna see if it happens again, and if it does I'll probably post in the bugs forum, but just letting you know it might be a bit weird now.
Tried a few, getting an anniversary item almost every time, that's more like it. Not all bags, which is fine, I got one but I am getting things other than canes and plugs which makes the quests more interesting to me.
so confused when quests reset as i was in the middle of one, I had managed to get one bag but otherwise regular stuff out of maybe 10 quests

I'm working with Keith right now. There could be an issue with the servers to where the file didn't update on the actual site (not an issue on our end, but with the actual server providers), which is why it worked fine on Grace's Dev earlier when I tested this (because I promise I got things other than his special prizes, guys. it was glorious! bags and common items and a retired one).

40% of chances? LOL if at least 10 users did more than 15 quests and got no anniversary items, sounds there are no new prizes.
I mean, I know the users posting are a low number, but WOW, 40% of chance is huge, so we should get at least one anniversary item at each 10 quests (assuming that we are REALLY unlucky)

I'm retesting the quests, guys. They worked fine grace's dev earlier, which is why I've been defending everything. I've also seen the math for the code. It should all work. If I don't get something outside of Drills quests on the main site, I'll get a programmer to reset the quests (again) for you guys.
I for one am not happy about how drills is performing today. I don't appreciate being told he is fixed only to find that he OBVIOUSLY is not. 16/30 quests and only junk.
Personally I'm not going off of who is posting in the news, I'm going off of the people in the SB who are doing Drills and are getting absolutely nothing. There were several people in there doing them at the same time and no one got a bag or any other non-Drills item.

That was the first quest I got. UGH. I hate HL... I actually don't find his quests all that fun to be honest and if the chances of getting a useful item is that low I'm just not gonna bother doing them. I did all my regular quests so that's good enough for me.

Hey everyone - just checking in to say that I've verified that the chances are correct. Please remember that when you say things like "no one has gotten a prize" you mean "of the people who've posted on the news, who are a very very small amount of people who have done the quests, no one has said that they've gotten a prize" - that isn't the same thing.
I'm glad to know someone got a bag! That makes me happy. I was just unlucky today in my 30 quests. At least he didn't send me to harpoon leviathans. That is a plus.

Not every user who is completing the Drills quests are posting here, User not found: tarawr. I've tested this and gotten at least one bag from it. A chance does not mean it's a for-sure thing that you'll get the items.
I've messaged a programmer though about possibly getting more things included, like a chance of a questpoint/andor sP at times instead of an item. I am reading the feedback people are giving and want to make the quest worthwhile. Maybe we can start to phase out some of his special items for a while, since they've been given out for quite a while now.

The thing is... you claimed 40%, then said it wasn't a very high chance of getting anything outside of the ordinary drills trash.... IF it was truly 40%, then SOMEONE would have gotten something other than his usual junk by now... and so far, no one has.
So are we no longer going to be able to get holiday items from Drills? I always liked being able to get a holiday item from him every now and then.

I'm not sure what you mean, @Tarawr. I don't want people to assume that they'll get a bag every other time thing complete one of his quests (which is what I would consider an extremely high chance). People have asked us to bring back the ninth goodie bag this year (since the only way of getting it was last year through drills), and Ariel and I thought it'd be nice to have a way to get all the old old anniversary items for collectors. The chances aren't extrememly high, but they aren't super low like the retired items (because you have a chance to get any retired item, including SBQ, from drills).
Meh didn't get ANY retired items, goodie bags... nothing but junk. Thanks a lot Drills... and I used to like doing your quests too. :(

I am about 95% sure staff forgot that Drills was redone to only give out his "special" items.
When it was "fixed" he gave out nothing but retired items, and was quickly put back to nothing but his stuff.

I have played 10/30 games so far today, and have gotten nothing but regular game prizes. Just how small of a chance do we have of scoring anything but hats/belts/plugs?
Um, so I'm only getting drill's items just like the passed while. No special items or anniversary stuff... I call "still broken" on Drills =/

The 9th bags were released only through Drills last year. :) Also you have a chance of getting the bags from previous years too, just the 9th has a higher chance.
10th Anniversary bags will probably be released on the actual day? Wow stop complaining about every single thing.

We aren't doing a bag this year because we are focusing on a lot of different things for this year. There are still new items to come, guys. ;)
Ariescool !! i love this 10th anniversary alot !!!! but i must say i miss our anual goodie bag to be honest :) my gallery dont feel complete without a goodie bag with a 10 on it :):)
The only thing I don't like is that he makes us do stuff with our pets and I know I try to keep mine in the resort so it won't let me play with/feed it, and even if I remove my pet it's full on both and it doesn't get depleted quickly. That's why I hardly ever do drill quests.
Excited about the extra prizes, but disappointed that there won't be a new grab bag this year. :(
That said, I'm enjoying all the new features, achievements and other additions that the 10th anniversary has brought. Happy 10th Subeta!

After the anniversary ends, the chances of getting anniversary items will go down a lot but there is still that very slim chance you can grab an anniversary item year round. :)
Best part of the celebration yet!!! Well, maybe besides tons of new achievements and double quests. LOL
I'm really enjoying all the chances to get retired items I never thought I'd get my hands on. Thank you!
