I don't believe the species needs to have any part in the story. Although some choose to keep the overlay in, many also jus remove the species all together from the page. As cool as subeta pets/species are, I think there would be many angry people if your story 100% had to involve them LOL

Does the pet species need to relate to the story at all for spotlight winners? This profile's cute, it's just that the past few haven't had anything to do with the pet species they are or mention pets at all. Does it not matter? I feel like it used to be that your story had to relate to your pet's artwork... I might be wrong though.
What a unique story! Is it supposed to be sad? I don't know if that's the intention, but to me it sounds so sad... T.T
The Treasure chest is perfect! The fairy items right there at the top are fitting, I love that you added in the broken camera and old photo, and I can see that you picked out only the prettiest and most delicious-looking baked goods! <3
Maybe get her a job at the Food Market or Get Mugged, though? I know, they NEED to create a job listing for the bakery. :)
