Cash Shop Offer Wall
Been eyeing something in the Cash Shop but haven\'t been able to buy CSC? We\'ve introduced an Offer Wall into the cash shop!
As a bonus for the next week if you complete an offer you get a bonus 25% cash shop credits from the offers!

I really don't think the 25% bonus thing is working. Other than that I'm really glad these are back, it's the only way I can get CSC.

Yeah, I'm going to have to pass on all of this. I liked it when there were videos to browse but all of these offers just sound like an infection waiting to happen. As soon as the first one told me I'd have to download a program and keep it on my computer for a week I x'd out of it.

I was so excited to see that this feature was back. Sad that the videos didn't return thought. All the other offers and surveys are not worth the risk to me.

While I can see the benefits maybe some other system needs put in? It seems to much of a risk for Subeta to have done. I am not screaming for it to be taken down but it is rather risky and I think users would like some other way to get CSC without having to risk personal info and their computers for it. I have no idea what could be put in to replace this that is better but it does seem to much of a risk for users to take.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to pass on this one. Seems a bit sketchy and risky for me. I'd rather save up the sP and purchase CSC that way because I seldom use CSC in the first place.

Alison
I appreciate you guys looking for opportunities like this for us, but this seems beyond sketchy.

Oh yikes... not worth it to me. You can buy CSC w/ sP so I really don't understand the need for this. Hope that everyone's identity & computers are safe if they participate.

Looks like that Voluntary Infection Program isn't just for our avatars ohoho. Maybe the Offer Wall needs to be renamed to that instead? /shot

I am doing some surveys per week anyway so I thought there is no harm here.
I completed 3 offers this morning until the end (and it was very time consuming) yet no credits appear on the info page
and no credits were transferred to my account here so far and it´s some hours now.
The questions and behavement of the sites were fishy, though.
Germany users beware especially of the Fußball Quizz which gives this amazing 500 points - it leads to an abonnement of items!
I didn´t complete this one.
I made good experiences with the videos Subeta had for CSC last year, it would be nice to bring such things back.
Subeta Team, I appreciate your effort in this yet alas it looks like it wouldn´t work out.

Keith, I really don't think this heartache is worth the trouble. You're in a lose/lose situation against the users. Won't matter what you do or say, probably best to just take it down.

I made a couple of quizzes bur haven't received any csc within 5 hours. Should i fill in the ticket or it might take longer to receive them?

I've gotten a little over 700 from these but I can't get anymore to work and im not sure I wanna push my luck anyway. the way I see it, there's only one way to get "free" csc which is through featurepoints. it's an app that you download and for every app they sponsor that you download you get credit (ranging from like, 20 to 500). 3000 credits=$5 Sent to your PayPal, itunes, etc. I know a ton of people that use it and it's risk free/legit. my referral code is rqtwrt and basically if you refer someone, you get half of what they make. if you sign up with a referral you also get bonus points to start. it's tedious, but it works if you can't buy csc any other way like myself ¯_(ツ)_/¯ not sure if I can get in trouble for posting this, but tbh it's a lifesaver and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who really wants csc but has no means of getting it.

Would be good to even out my 187 CSC, but NEVER download antything!! I agree it's so risky...

"And I never had the "I don't like it, get rid of it!" attitude, all I did was voice my opinions about it and suggest that maybe they should bring back the vidoe thing. No way in my posts did I say anything along the lines of "Omg I hate this idea! You have to take it down!" No where did I say something like that."
You're right, and I was addressing others making points similar to yours, not just you. My "you people," was meant to encompass everyone raging on about this thing without having to "@" them all.
"First off, isn't there a contest goin' on right now where one of the prizes is 2,000? That's free (or so I believe) and all people have to do is create a pretty cw item (: I actually think it's nice, it's just said some of us can't partipate because of our rather sad artist skills. So no, I do believe there are other ways that can be made where free csc can be offered without having to dodge around wary sites."
But you've made my point for me. Those without art skills can do this thing instead. All their existing free CSC things may require things each individual doesn't possess - and that's WHEN you can find them because I didn't even know about the one you mentioned. This one here is open to anyone.
Although it really doesn't matter whether there are other free CSC options... I wasn't saying there were NO options, I was saying there were no options like this one. You know, free CSC-earners without having to find/do contests on Subeta itself. A billion other sites already use this exact service, this massively collaborated referral-advertising thingie. Yeah it sucks these third-party people are douchebags signing you up for spam and giving you viruses, but Subeta also links to Facebook and no one's whining that they're an NSA data-mining front. At least we're getting a warning. (This last bit's more directed at those "you people" again, not you directly.)
"...in this silly case scenario, that's not what I'd do. You don't know me well at all. First off, I don't know anyone who likes old pizza, but meh. Anyway, no I wouldn't snatch something and scream like that. I may eye you and go "Be careful with that." but that'd be about it. If you know anyone who knows me well enough, they'd tell you I'm a caution person, but in no way am I that dramatic."
Again, that part was at those "you people." I probably should have been clearer on that, though, I'll give you that. I quoted you first to reply directly to what I quoted and then went on to bitch about people at large... I'll put my hand up to that one, that's my bad. I do things like that when I'm hungry, make bad transitions, and as I told you I was hungry. IT WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU DIDN'T TAKE MY PIZZA.
But anyway, yeah, I wasn't trying to fight with you directly. Just the general "take it down" sentiment and you got caught up in that, against my intentions, so my apologies on my sloppiness. Thanks for the keeping-it-nice response, too. You could've responded to my apparent assholery with assholery of your own, but you didn't, and your patience does not go unnoticed. Here's a hug!

And just as a side note, just because you like taking risks and getting viruses, doesn't mean others feel the same way. Most people aren't going to want to pay big bucks to rid themselves of some nasty viruses. Not everyone's a risk taker :3.
Also, I wasn't complaining, or at least that wasn't my intent. Like I said earlier, I was merely stating my opinions on this matter like everyone else and again, no where in my posts where I screaming (usually when people scream they TYPE LIKE THIS! I wasn't using that style of typing, so no, I wasn't screaming) and I wasn't deciding for everyone. If I did that I would have said something like "No one use those offers! Don't go there!" I was merely telling those that are doing the offers to be wary of what they click on because scams and other things are out there.
I'm hungry right now and would rather eat an old pizza than the nothing at all that I have in my cabinets. If it were up to you, you'd snatch that pizza from me and toss it in the garbage, screaming "NOOOO IT MIGHT HAVE GERMS ON IT BECAUSE IT'S OLD."

First off of the 6 i have tried 2 will not give me my credits :/
Secondly ... 1 gave me my 75 credits but no 25% bonus o.O no surprise there :(
Thirdly .... Infection blocked (not one but 3 back to back)
Relax, your Avast just saved you from a virus.
Do I RELAX???? NO thanks a lot for nothing, I know you mean well but this is not ok

In fact, now that I think about it... maybe Gaia was right to not warn people about potential risk. With Subeta giving a warning ahead of time, people seem to take it as a cue to complain far more than when they're NOT being warned. <.<

I've seen gaming sites that allow you to download over 400 of any games you want for free as full version games but there are catches to this. For starters the website changes your homepage and search engine to whatever they please then they put advertisements inside the games that come up every few minutes that you can't bypass to get around. This is how they keep the games free. If you change your homepage to something else you can't play the games on the site anymore. It's easier to just save up your money and buy the game you want from a trusted site that is ad free and you can play it all you want safely.
I like the idea of the possibility of earning CSC credits but I would rather do it by having a long set of goals on the site where you can earn 1 or 2 credits every so many levels completed. Goals that could be done over a month or so to show you are really into keeping up with it and something that once you finish you have the option to start all over again slowly building up credits. Each level can have a different reward of whatever you feel is fair. I've seen this at other pet sites and it works out well. Sure it would have to be something unique and different from other sites yes but it is something to think about at least since the game card option is gone ^_^.

"If they can't control what ads are being shown, then they shouldn't be placed on the site. I'm just saying, not trying to sound rude or anything, but that's how I feel. Also, if there should be a massive warning to "click at your own risk," then why have it on the site at all?"
It's not as if Subeta is choosing between a less dangerous method for giving out free CSC and chose, instead, the MORE dangerous method. What it seems they're doing is saying, "This is the only way we can give you free CSC, but it might be dangerous so be careful!" (Gaia has had ads like this for years by the way and never warned me (and still doesn't) that I'd get virused out the ass.)
So okay, don't DO the offers. You personally know the risks, and those that don't are quite glaringly warned about them. I, however, want to take the risks because I know how to avoid spyware and how to get rid of it when I get it. I've never understood this mentality of "I don't like it/won't use it, so get rid of it!" Other people exist, you know. <.<
YOU want to save up and buy CSC? Go ahead, all of you complaining. DON'T use the offer wall if you don't want to and don't trust it. But quit screaming for it to be closed when you are CLEARLY WARNED OF THE RISKS. What you people are saying is, "I'd rather we have nothing at all than this!" Well not everyone else would rather have NOTHING AT ALL. You don't decide for everyone. I'm hungry right now and would rather eat an old pizza than the nothing at all that I have in my cabinets. If it were up to you, you'd snatch that pizza from me and toss it in the garbage, screaming "NOOOO IT MIGHT HAVE GERMS ON IT BECAUSE IT'S OLD." Can't we just accept that people have their own minds and can be trusted to make their own decisions?
This is pretty much the base problem with all of society, by the way. Everyone's always screaming for more legislation and laws and policing and parenting for exactly this very reason. They simply don't TRUST that other people have minds and decision-making abilities. So yeah, not surprised to see it here in a microcosm. >.<
(The only complaint I have about these damn offers is that these stupid offer people - NOT Subeta but the people on the other side - still don't have an effective way of tracking what you've done, so most of the time you don't get credited. Gaia lets you open a ticket to get manually credited by some support guy working on the offers side of things, by the way, why isn't there one here I wonder? But again, still worth my time and risk to maybe get some free stuff.)

I mean I got a sizable amount of CSC from the few of these that I did, but I have to say, the videos seemed to be a lot safer, even if less CSC was offered. (to my memory, it was quite a bit less, wasn't it? Even then, it's preferable.)

Love how one of the biggest ones for me over 300 csc is a program download and install (required) that takes information while you surf the net.. that doesnt scream scam at all..

One option if you guys don't want to do it through the Offer Wall is to try something like Swagbucks. It definitely takes longer for you to earn "points" but you can redeem things like PayPal cards, which you can spend on CSC. I believe you used to be able to get Ultimate Game Cards too but those have been discontinued.

Regarding the questionnaires, technically speaking, you don't have to use your actual info. There's no way to know it's not your info so long as it looks legit. That said, however, they REALLY should be vetted first to ensure they're not malicious. Click at your own risk comes with the territory, but there should be at least SOME attempt to prevent it on the staff's side.
Also, I just watched a 2 credit video and only got 1 credit. Do I file a ticket for the missing one, or do I just get to go without it? :S

it's been about 6 hours and i STILL haven't received any csc. i'm not gonna bother with any of the other offers because they look dodgy as hell and i'm not risking my laptop for some csc. 0/10 would not recommend.

The news comments section really needs an edit function.
The point is, I think a lot of us can admit we've seen these kinds of surveys before, because there's a movie we really want to watched or download and this is exactly the hurdle that filesharing and streaming sites like to use. And they are BLATANTLY fishy. Why Subeta sees that and thinks 'this belongs on our site' is beyond me.
It may be up to users' judgment in the end, but it isn't fair for Subeta to incentivize doing something risky.

Sooo dodgy, also I dont qualify for lots of surveys .. so I'm feeling a bit safted
Why not those "watch blah blah vids" I mean they are a whole lot safer and it doesnt tell you you don't qualify after putting in lots of personal information

I'm sorry @Shalott but I have to disagree with you. If they can't control what ads are being shown, then they shouldn't be placed on the site. I'm just saying, not trying to sound rude or anything, but that's how I feel. Also, if there should be a massive warning to "click at your own risk," then why have it on the site at all? Some people are risking their laptops/computers to horrible viruses for some csc. And just because you were luck the precious time, doesn't mean you could be lucky a second time around, and I already know two people who have caught viruses, one of them have a terrible case of adware. Getting rid of viruses can become EXTREMELY costly, well some anyway, what person wants to spend big bucks to clean out their computer and risk their information getting stolen?
I understand the need of some people wanting csc, because I am one of them, but I would rather save up some sp and buy from user shops or maybe spend a little bit of money here and there for some csc. OR if they want to help people get free csc, they could use the video one, I remember they use to have some videos and all you did was watch them and get some csc, that seemed far more safer than leading people offsite with the risk of catching a nasty virus. It just isn't worth it.

Well not MAKING people take these risks, but certainly encouraging them. My point stands.
2
Bailey_435
I disagree. It doesn't matter if it's ultimately the user's responsibility, making people risk viruses or worse makes subeta feel like an illegal video-streaming site. It's unnecessarily sleazy.

As far as I understand, there is no way for Subeta staff to control what ads and offers are shown, so it is the users' job to be careful about what offers they choose. With that said, When the previous offers were available I earned probably $500 in CSC and my identity, bank account, credit rating, Social Security - all still intact. ;) Just choose wisely, and thank you Subeta Team for bringing these back!

This is literally tricking people to get their money and pretty much ROBING them????????!!!!!!!!!!

Errr...I get the people saying that because csc is something you usually pay with real money you have to "pay" for it in a way even if it's doing those questionnaires...But uhm...I'm not saying they should make it super easy and accessible or anything, but it'd be super nice if they could at least bring back the video offers, or, I dunno...Get sponsors without super shady quizzes that don't work most of the time?

I remember when these were removed because many of them were shady as hell and people complained endlessly about the ones that tried to hijack people's systems (rightfully so); and I remember the backlash from people who couldn't afford to purchase CSC (I'm one of those people) when they were removed, because they felt shafted in favour of those who are able to donate.
Now they are back after much complaint, and people are complaining because they are shady as hell once again. It's a cycle. -3-
CSC costs money -- either from the purchaser, or from the person paying to be advertised in the offer shop (because effectively, we are participating in marketing.) It can't be given away for free because Subeta needs these Donations to survive. It would be great if there were no shady, terrible offers in there -- and I'm sure everyone including the Staff would vastly prefer that -- but unfortunately this kind of thing usually comes with strings attached. It's just the name of the game; but it's not Subeta's specific intent to screw over their customers, it's simply the only way to give people any form of real-world-equivalent currency without it being expressly purchased.
It is what it is, for better or worse. I know that for the people who wanted this back, this is a really awesome thing; and for the people who are less-pleased with the shady garbage associated with their favorite site, it's a bit of a headache. It'll work itself out. The staff are just trying to make their users happy, ultimately.

I feel like this is irresponsible...many users on this site are kids who aren't known for having the best judgement. Just because there's a disclaimer doesn't mean minors or anyone who is still being supported by their parents will heed these warnings. This is going to cost a lot of parents money to fix the problems that the virus-laden offers bring on their kids' computers. It's a nice idea to want to give people a chance at CSC without it costing money, but encouraging users to click on offers/ads that have not been vetted and may be detrimental to their computers really makes the integrity of this site take a nosedive.

Not a fan of these surveys and things, but I thought I'd atleast try one offer. I so regret it. After answering the same questions and being redirected atleast 8 times. I finally threw my hands up in frustration and literally shouted "Fuck this!"
So yea. If I NEED CSC, I'll gladly just buy it.

I'm not normally one to post negatively, but if you have to warn users that what you're offering could be dangerous should you really be offering it? Are CS sales really worth the loss of integrity?
28
Bailey_435
Like that's just shameful. Especially if they're asking for personal information and you're willing to let people deal with dodgy third parties for the sake of the almighty cash shop.

Why on earth would you use this lazy cop-out instead of, y'know, checking what kinds of harmful shit gets put up there? You're putting your users' machines at risk, take some responsibility.

Is Subeta prepaid cards a thing??? I think that should be a thing honestly because I would for SURE buy CSC that way. Other than that, this would be my only option. If possible, maybe prepaid cards should be a thing to consider??

Nope. Nopenopenope. I do not trust this sort of thing. Do they really need to know such personal information? *Super paranoid about identity theft*

Thanks so much for allowing us this option! I'm quite happy to see it, as spending money on CSC isn't an option for me.
Unfortunately, a majority of the offers are scams, which is concerning! It's also a total shame that the videos are less than 1 credit to watch, and seem to have been disabled anyway. Really, those and the click-through slideshow offers are the only real income you can get from these things!

"We only make cents on these ads." Nope, you lose money, because those cents aren't going to cover the loss of revenue when everyone's computer breaks or gets taken away from the viruses. "Where did all our users go?" "Free CSC, it only cost a laptop!"

Thanks for giving users this option again, staff. I know there were some users who were missing this way to get CSC. I got like 140sh CSC but didn't get the 500+ I was supposed to get for another offer, and, because of that and people who seem to have gotten viruses from these, I'm probably not going to do anymore. I'm grateful for the CSC I did get, though! Thanks again~

Also, I did the requirements for an offer (upon email confirmation), but since that's all that was said, I kinda stopped there, and now I can't get any more offers to work... There's no way I'm giving out my address. Am I gonna be banned for that because I'm pretty sure a lot of people did the same??? Umm

I've gotten a little over 700 csc. Unfortunately, no 25% bonus, and I can't seem to get any more to work. But no problems other than that.

I completed an offer and got rewarded (surprised on that account, because I've done these exact offers before and completing them perfectly according to instructions rarely gets you anything!) and got 204 Cash but... no 25% bonus.

Completely not working for me, even with pausing AdBlock. Wish we would just put the old video offer wall back up, clearly the provider of the offers was ok with them/their payout rate, since they still offer them.
That being said, I do appreciate the effort to bring an offer wall back, I just wish we could get a better provider.

Sometimes surveys like this have been successful... but that's usually if I give them a fake name and address because they'll keep redirecting me if I don't cave in. Maybe some users could make a list of which surveys are the easiest to complete or something? idk, I'll stick to videos until i know for sure.

Throwing in my two cents in favor of the old Youtube-style videos. Those were great -- especially because they were hosted as embeds on the site so I didn't have to go anywhere sketchy. Why'd those go away?

Really? People are already saying they got viruses from these... Like why is it up to the userbase to willy nilly click on stuff and become at risk before you decide that some of the offers aren't safe?
I guess I'm the only one seeing how absolutely irresponsible it is to present a huge wall of free viruses to your customers because you "can't control" the offers that show up and don't bother to test them before releasing. This is worse than when the malware links were being sent around through smail, because the site is actually officially sponsoring this sort of thing... Wow. Just wow. :pensive:

Pretty disappointed actually... I thought they'd only bring back offers if they were safe, but obviously not.
Also all the videos require you share them on Facebook, and I'm not interested in sharing my information like that with some unknown website.
The offers that want you to do surveys don't credit you when you finish a survey, or redirect you over and over again until you just get frustrated and give up.
Waste of time. Glad some people got them to work, although I'm not sure how.

While I do need some csc, I am not risking my laptop's safety. I'm very picky about where I go on m laptop, but that's because the interne nowadays is just too dangerous and one has to be very careful unless you want your laptop or computer full of unwanted trojans, worms, virus, malware etc. I rather stay on the safe side and I will not be completing any of these offers!
To those who are completing the others, I say stay safe and be wary of what you click! Even if you do have virus protection, there's always something out there that can let itself right into your computer and can go undetected.

Got a couple to work, but some I feel uneasy about so I exit them, or with a few it seems to be an endless loop of offers that never gives me a chance to complete them or get a confirmation email. Hopefully backing out of some won't jeopardize my account, I really like having the ability to earn CSC with offers like this!

Welp, after answering the same three (Do I drink alcohol? What race am I? How much do I make?) questions over and over I was finally taken to a page that made me watch advertisements and asked me how I felt about them. I did get my credits though.

And: For some people this is the only way to get credits. We actually make very very little actual dollars from these offers (like, cents) but its something that a lot of other sites have because it makes CSC more obtainable. Obviously if we get a bunch of reports over the next few days we will shut this wall down just like we've shut down other ones in the past.

I agree with someone who asked if these have been tested before being posted. From what I'm reading, it doesn't look like it. These things should be tested and 1000000% bona fide before introducing them to the site. It shouldn't be playwr responsibility to test these things out and wind up with a virus that could destroy their entire computer or be forced into giving all their personal information out to these offers.

I retract my previous statement. The videos are ~5 minutes long, then they make you share on social media, then the 0.98 credits never show up. This is terrible, aren't these things tested before being put on the site?

A lot of these survey sites aren't interested in middle-class, low-wage earning college students who can't purchase a new car every year. I should know since I'm a member of several survey sites.
Ironic, considering most of the survey takers will more than likely be poor college students.
