Masquerade Ball
Time to put on your dancing shoes, don your fancy frocks, and shake that booty! The annual Masquerade Ball has opened its doors to the public once more, and you can party non-stop until 11:59 on March 31st! The Masquerade forum will be closing at this time, so keep that in mind when preparing any contests, meet-and-greets or general ball shenanigans.
Oh, and remember, it's a masked ball, and so it might be a little...unclear, who people really are.
Migrating Masks has a range of wonderfully fancy new masks for you to try your hand at restocking! Remember that you need to be wearing a mask to participate in the Masquerade Ball (that includes both dancing AND posting in the special forums!) The owner, Olivette, has told us she's going to be closing her shop at the end of Masquerade this year, so she can rest for a bit and possibly take a round the world dirigible vacation, so grab the new masks while you can!
Of course, with all of the dancing you'll be doing comes a whole lot of trinkets. And we have  just the things for you to spend them on: the Steamworks Menagerie has be stocked fit to bursting with some gorgeous new clothing designs and other fun trinkets. And word has it more is on its way, later on in the event!
If you were more interested in creating a steamworks pet than collecting more clothing items - we have good news for you. The steamworks key has been lowered in price from 5000 trinkets to 2500!
And we can't forget the Libertine Lounge - unless we've had a bit too much to drink, that is. Spend your Lounge Trinkets on a delightful selection of fingerfoods and cocktails, with some being made from the fruits of our fabulous Ikumoradeekanox tree - truly one of the great gifts of Ziara!

I hate that you can't see usernames in the dance forums, it makes it really hard for those of us who are holding contests. Not to mention what if someone skips you in the "dance with the user above" threads? there's no way to contact or report them because you don't know who they are! You're making it easier for people to cheat/rip others off.
My fellow Howl's fans seem to have slipped slightly :P I do recall that Howl had an equally flamboyant purple jacket like the

Oh! These are so cool! (although I am bummed about the mask shop closing. I'm never able to restock everything, so having it year round was a nice bonus) Are we ever going to be able to buy the 2009 Steamworks Menagerie items? or are they scattered around in the other years?

This is why I love Subeta. I play many other similar sites, but no site is as frequent with its updates and news, its reworks and events. I may not love every item, but I love that I can expect something new to hear, see, fawn over, etc, and I'm never left hanging. Huzzah to the Masquerade! :D Let's dance on!

I'll never get enough Steamwork Trinkets to buy all the stuff I want Oo I already have twice as many Lounge Trinkets PLUS the 200 I have from last time... sigh

This is absolutely magnificent! I now regret making myself forum art ahead of time for the costume I THOUGHT I'd be wearing whilst in reality I will be changing into the Viscount set as fast as possible (kinda echoing the notion that there should be maskless versions of said hats as well, but for the purpose they were meant for they look adorable)
Actually what I like the most is that the pet masks (and tricorn hats though that might be just a coincidence) were suggested on the forums. :D I love how the staff here listens to player suggestions on items.

Im curious we can't ping and there's no names so for those running contests how do we keep track? I get that its a masquerade but this makes it harder to do it.

my hoard of trinkets comes in handy again this year! (and yet again hardly a dent was made, despite my many purchases... i'll be coming prepared for next year, too! nice)
The Subeta Pet masks are very well done, the artist did a great job of capturing each pet in them. There isn't a one that I don't want.

I have to say that there isn't much, clothing wise, that I don't like this year. Apart from some of the full dresses (portraits) which are very lovely but aren't to my taste, I'm in love with the rest.
