New Years Bell




Happy New Years, everyone!



As you know, we experienced quite a bit of downtime the past day. We’ll have a programmer explain the finer aspects of it sometime today, but here are a few updates/things:



    Anyone with a GA currently has had their time increased by 3 days! Anyone with a subscription now has had 100 CSC added to their account.

    December Monthly Collections will stay in the Cash Shop until the 3rd!

    The Unstable Snow Fairy will be around until January 5th at 11:59pm.

    Trees are still safe, we’ll be opening those sometime this week so you can get your gifts. There will be more on that when User not found: grelca makes a news post about it. :)

    We know quite a few people have missed out on the chance to visit Melody for the 30th and 31st because of the downtime. We’ll have a news post sometime today explaining our plan for that!

    Our actual New Years celebration will start later in the day when we know the site is more stable!

Beg pardon if I don't think that everything will be magically fixed by then. Either the New Year's tokens will be released amid tons of errors, or yet another promise will be delayed.

Do you have an actual csc subscription where money comes off a debit or credit card each month and you get csc placed into your account? If not then that is why you didn't get 100 csc because that is what they are referring to when they talk about a subscription. People who just have the gold account with no subscription were given 3 days of time credited towards that and we do NOT get the 100 csc.

Quests are also still giving me a lot of trouble. I now have 4 different copies of one item that I needed for the quest and 2 copies of the other item and they just aren't accepting that I have it in my inventory. This has happened more than once. Add that on with the error pages and it's super frustrating.

Thank you for the update! I'm glad that something is being done about the past couple of days of Melody's cottage. I've already had to miss a few days due to family/Christmas stuff, so I'd hate to miss out on even more.

Thank you Subeta team for all your hard work fixing this mess! I would like to make my achievement for the Melody daily visit for 2015! I only missed two days do to the site being down! I went to the site on 12-30 all the time and all I got was errors or blank pages! I got to the cottage on 12-31, but it would not let me collect the gift!

I don't think I've gotten mine either. Also I can't stock anything in my shop. I can't quick stock nor stock anything doing it the old fashioned way of using your inventory to stock it....I hope this gets fixed soon and I hope these attacks stop. Sucks all this is happening and sucks that it's taking up the Dev's holidays to deal with this.

I also have multiples from the last day of Melody, but for some reason I have 4 of one, and 3 of the other two? I clicked to receive them multiple times of the day, when subeta was up then quickly went back down before Melody's page could finish loading. I never got the achievement though, it still says 30/31 (and I'm pretty pretty sure I visited every day before the 31st).

As for the melody issue, my best suggestion is to add every user +2 days to their counter.
That'd make it up for those who couldn't visit melody.

Now, as far as the melody items of those days... maybe make 'em a free gift or put 'em up for purchase. I don't even know what items are those but whatever they are, there should definitely be more on site.

@MarissaUnderground some people got it, actually ( I was one of them. ) because we were lucky enough to get on when the site was working for a solid minute shortly after midnight to get our prizes for melody, but whatever fix they have for melody, I'm sure they'll have it account for the achievement and people who should have earned it, gain it, despite the down time (which affected the 30th as well). because im sure theres more than the ~100 or so people who got it, who want it, plus it's kind of unfair to have something up for a fair shot by everyone only for a small handful to get it and everyone else to be shit out of luck because the site got a DDoS tbh.

I visited Melody every day except the 31st, and that was due to the downtime. I don't think the site was up at all that day for me to get my prize. Does this mean we won't get the final background because the site was down so nobody could get it?

I has a sad now. I was hoping to catch the opportunity to visit Melody for the 31st, but was unable to with the site being down. I am sad because I am leaving in a few hours to go on vacation with my family out of the country and will not be able to access the internets. Is there anyway I can send a ticket when I get back stateside so I may get the achievement? If not, I will not worry about a few pixels.

The reason I couldn't get my Melody gifts on the 25th was because the site was down due to the tree issues whenever I tried to access it, not just because I was with family.

I'm really glad to hear about Melody's being addressed, as I was one of the people who got blank pages all day on the 30th (and ofc it was down the 31st); I also just wanted to say thank you so much, to all of the staff!, for working so hard on this, especially since it is the holidays and you are likely taking time from those to help out. There may be some grumps out there, but I know everyone appreciates all that you are doing, and have done, for us <3

Saggitarius: 16 / 15 What? I only refreshed several times because I was getting the error page. I'm also not sure if the amount of my CSC is correct. to the people having issues with quests- if an item isn't buying after a few seconds and the tab just gets stuck on loading- hold down CTRL and click buy, then you'll be able to get your item :) if this doesn't work, just go down the list and keep CTRL + buy, until one of the tabs works c:

@StarShadow I checked to see if Subeta was up at around 10:30 last night and when I saw that it was, Melody was the only place I got to before it went back down again. So basically those of us who have the item got it due to sheer dumb luck.

@StarShadow Normal way, by finishing the achievement. I managed to get here to collect last gifts shortly before site was taken down and got it with minimal problems. Others surely did too.

On topic: good to see site up but I'm getting slow loading and occasional bad gateways still. Not as bad as it was, but I'm gonna wait at least another day before trying to quest or anything :/

I'm still getting occasional error messages and lots of lagging. Yes it's nearly impossible to do quests, every time I try to purchase a quest item it just sits there saying "connecting" or I get an error page. Grrr.
Hope they get it fixed soon and we don't lose anything, presents, etc, and they figure out how to give us the Melody achievement since I went every day through the 30th.

@Loser, bear in mind that many folks here pay money to play the game - if you paid for any other service over the holidays, you would expect good service in return. Many companies close for the holidays rather than continue to provide their service. Subeta elected to stay open (and collect folks' money), thereby making an implicit pledge to maintain a consistent level of service. While some folks are being less-than-mature in their complaints, it's not unreasonable to expect fast and quality work in return for money paid.

Not to say that yes, there could have been more updates, but yes there was also a holiday that's very big and very important to a lot of people so maybe Subeta as a ~community~ should be more understanding and go hey, maybe they were with their family and had better things to do than give daily updates. I'd have appreciated being informed as well, but there's a better way to handle it than the way a lot of people are.

The outlandish way some of you are acting is just beyond ridiculous, you really need to reprioritize your life if Subeta has absolutely ruined your life because of something beyond their control. Focus your energy into literally anything else, any other hobby. This is coming from someone who is on Subeta frequently/very often, so it's not as though I don't understand the stress relief or the 'escape' it can offer. But you people need to get a goddamn grip, you're behaving absolutely asinine. I think most of you have genuinely forgotten what Christmas is supposed to be about; GIVING to others, not receiving, being around loved ones, etc. Not, you know, what you're going to get for free and how quickly are YOU personally going to receive compensation for something beyond Subeta's control.

Let's keep in mind that several of the staff sacrificed THEIR holiday time to try and get things together for everyone, stop whining about the trees and learn to be patient. I understand the anticipation and wanting your gifts, but it's literally just a site and there are far, far more important things in life.

Be great if Subeta learned something from this fiasco. All we want is to be kept informed every step of the way, otherwise we get disgruntled. There weren't enough updates by half, leaving people to have to vent on Subeta's facebook page. Lets hope we don't have a ruined Lumi next year. And here's to finally (maybe) getting to open our trees very soon.

That item comes from the achievement you get for having visited melody all 31 days of december, If you didn't miss a day before all the site problems happened then you would get this when they release the fix later on today.

If you weren't able to get on for christmas because of family things then staff aren't going to credit you that, I missed a day on christmas eve from being with family, If it's because of a site issue they will credit you for it but they aren't going to just hand it to you, That's not how it has ever worked.

For Duplicate 31st Melody items.. I deleted the items and sent a ticket letting them know. That is all you gotta do. Everyone knows you do not get to keep dupes. :p Sadly because that carrot one is adorable!!

Items are going in and out of my shop just fine now. That problem cleared up. When I go to my inventory though, it says You have 15 items on hand. We will only display 1000 at a time. (instead of 100)

Keith has long stated in a forum post that it wouldn't make a difference if the site was up or pulled down while they work on repairs for the site since it would be the same amount of work.

Maybe add in the news post that quests aren't working correctly at the moment instead.

seriously, in god´s name, get your work together already or take the site down for awhile completely to repair it right. It´s no fun to get payouts from quests that aren´t in your inventory OR to get the message you wouldn´t have the items to finish a quest but you did buy them AND/OR to lose the sp you bought them with but not having them in the inventory.
I´m royally displeased.

You can Google that for full details, but in short, a DDoS attack is where someone sends thousands of bogus requests from a bunch of different computers to a target Website in rapid succession in an attempt to crash the site.

Subscriptions arent just GAs, people also have CSC subscriptions, which are billed at the end of the month, which means those people would have been billed yesterday during the downtime but would not have been able to see or use their CSC, so i think it makes sense to give them a little extra as an apology.

Hmm... I hope their 'plan' for Melody is to open up her cottage for the last couple days again so that everyone can get that achievement. *sigh* I had another perfect record until yesterday. Hopefully I can get the achievement I and so many others deserve.

On a positive note, with the trees backed up, technically everyone will get gifted twice this year - now and in December lol. Yay gifts.

I don't really know who to ask this, but I tried to visit Melody's cottage yesterday, but the page wouldn't load and a few moment later the site was down, so I couldn't try again. But now I notice that there are Melody items in my inventory and even some double Melody items. However, I didn't get the achievement prize for going every day, and the achievement is still on 30 / 31...
Should I just delete all Melody items or wait for an update about what to do or...?

But I hope you have a solution for melody around the first downtime (which was on 25th I think). Yeah, there's a loooot of issues regarding items. Hint: Do NOT do any of your quests. I've bought the same item like 4-5 times - got the message, found it in my inventory - and it has just disappeared. Wait until the site is more stable. In fact, don't buy anything from the shops at all.
