Snowman Building Contest
HELLO AGAIN, everyone! We’re back in the snolympics! We can never resist a good snow-themed competition, but this year we decided to put our competitive natures aside and make OTHER people battle for the win! Nothing like a little team spirit, am I right?
Oh Tobi, you’re such a goof. Gosh it’s freezing. Was it this freezing last year? Anyway, we’ve called together some of our fellow shopkeepers and mischief makers to take part in this little competition. Obviously we’d love for EVERYONE IN THE WORLD to build snowmen, but there’s just not enough room for you all in Peka Park!
So instead, you can pick a team to support! Pick a team and help them build the biggest and best snowman. There are five teams in all, and you can donate snow as well as food, drink and warm clothes to help them and keep up their morale once the competition starts! You’ll get a participation prize for your team, a pet slot, and for taking part at all you’ll get a special ice skin, courtesy of Aspen! If you can’t decide which participation prize you want, don’t worry - Saggitarius has kindly offered to stock them in his Millionaire Centre after the competition.
The winning team’s supporters will get a forum title and a special prize, as well as a cool new trophy for their profiles.
Unlike last year's snowball fight, there won't be any individual prizes after the fact; this competition is a team affair!
Team signups start now and will close on Monday at 12 noon. You can still participate from the sidelines after that and receive Aspen’s ice skin, but you will no longer be eligible for winning or the team participation prize.

The event hasn't even started yet and all of the shops besides avalanche are empty all the time now. That's not good.
So, only clothes, food and drink from those stores and you have to pay 5K for every snow ball. I went for team stick together because I lost my dad last year.
I'll be interested to see the finished snow creations but as usual with stuff like this all the shops are empty or empty too quick to restock. yay fun. not.
5000 a snowball is steep, and the reasoning is...... You do not want people to go for the achievement for snowball tossing but you are wholeheartedly encouraging us to get the Restocking one? Interesting.. Both are high numbers and both are a reward prize.. Seems like a rather lame excuse for an sP sink to me.

The snowball shop will only be like this for the duration of this event, after which it will go back to normal so you can buy them for the achievement. This is just to prevent some of the ridiculous mass-buying that happened during last year's event, and it's also why they are including items from other shops this year so you have multiple options.

Yeah, OK, so unless they change the snowball shop I won't be buying or throwing any more, not at 5 times the price. Darn. :( Well, to get the throwing achievement will take several years anyway so guess it's not a big deal.

Arghhh, I really love the Team Sibling prize, but I like the whole idea of Team Stick Together better (I <3 stickers)... I don't know!
If the prices of snowballs were increased to 5000 sP then the 30 second wait time should be lowered.
You have to wait 5 seconds between restocks in the regular shops, so it only stands to reason that if we have to pay more than the regular shop for the snowballs, that the wait time should be on par or less than the regular shops. A wait time of 3-5 seconds would be reasonable?

Love how upfront the prize system has been for recent events. Saves a lot of angst and drama.

When this plot starts will we be able to use the snowballs we have hoarded and will they still count towards the snowball achievement?

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but is there something wrong with the bake stop? I want to hoard on items for the event, but there are no items in the bake stop and it hasn't been restocked in 10 minutes :/
