Communicating with Staff

There was a situation recently where users were unsure if they should post something in the Problems and Bugs Forums or file a ticket. If you think something should be reported but not necessarily seen by the masses, for example if you think people might be exploiting a bug, don’t hesitate to file a ticket.
Don’t forget to join Site Updates, an important forum group that admins will ping for changes that aren’t quite worthy of a news post but would still like to keep you updated on!
Another good place to check periodically is the Admin Posts feed on the forums, which has been added to the drop down menu for the forums navigation! You might see answers to a question you might have via the admin feed or find other useful information.

It's a shame that events are meant to be fun but turn savage instead. People need to stop holding grudges, relax, and enjoy the site. Joining Team BFF and having a friendly competition with Nature has proven to be much more rewarding than battling for first in this particular competition. Here's to hoping that the upcoming holiday will bring us all back together again.
i also never knew there was such an option. thanks for the info! :D
i wasn't aware there was a glitch. i just hope i wasn't abusing it without knowing. but considering i barely donated 100 items for my team and that most of that came from vending and a small part from questing, i should be ok.

The fact is that there was a glitch and it was abused for the gain of some team members. What I'd like is for there to be some precedent moving forward about how it will be handled. If abusing a glitch is seen as no big deal, I'd like that stated so that I will at least know what I'm getting into with some of these team competitions. The better way to handle it would have been to not count the scores of the persons who abused it, regardless of what team they were on. I think the situation could be handled better in the future.

Yeah, I had no idea there was a problem going on till my sister told me about some glitch. Regardless I not only never gave in during the contest. I had fun, and proud of the progress I made on team BFF. Having over 1mil overall points was still a big deal for the nerds team hehe ^^ Anyways, looks like whatever went down has been fixed by the staff. A big thank you to them!

Can we all move on please? ;-; We all need to be applying our chapstick and getting ready for some kisses.

I didn't even go on the forum until night before the contest ended and since I don't cheat I had no idea what they were talking about. It's over, too late to worry about it now. On to the next event.
Can we all move on please? ;-; We all need to be applying our chapstick and getting ready for some kisses and we cant do that IF WE KEEP FIGHTING!!!!
Here let me show you what we should be doing.

I am disappointing in the teams on this site right now. All the teams are complaining and pointing fingers and whining about something that happened days ago. Not only are they being sore losers but they are disregarding that it is more than likely that individuals on every team cheated.
Just stop, be adults. The subeta team is trying their best and they can see who used the glitch, if it was only one team, that team would not have won. Unless you are actually an admin stop saying things like they are facts.
I wish I chose to be on Team BFF or Team Nature because neither of them are whining and they are being good sports about losing because they tried their best.
Both teams looked on other teams forums. And many of you posted rude comments on their forums calling them losers. Is that acting like an adult? Does that sound like a team player to you? You should all be ashamed.

I have no idea what's going on, but... uhhh... yay for easier communication with the ones who get things done?

Many users abused the glitch from all sides. It happens, people get overly excited and want to help their team. Often, morals get thrown out the window.
Also I strongly believe that many who were abusing the glitch were likely quiet about it, not posting in the forums and hiding. My team only had about 60+ members in the forum group but I bet there were way more members than that on team stick together. Hence why I state that many users were most likely private about it.
The issue is now dealt with for the future, I greatly apreciate this because we are all blaming each other over pixels. Please let's move on.

@TracyH I never accused you of abusing a glitch :), but there certainly those that knew it was a glitch if they moved it through PM instead of open forum. No one user got blamed, and no one should be, I think the whole thing was just handled poorly by all parties. It's something to remember for the future, mistakes are what makes sites improve!
@Briar, No one told me it was a glitch, if it was mentioned I missed it. I just want people to know I would not have willingly abused a glitch. I would been afraid the staff would freeze my acct. That would break my heart. I know some may think me a liar, but I really have had so little to do with the mystery box. I don't even know what the rules are with that thing.
@TracyH I think one of the biggest issues that mischief had was the fact that sticky knew about the glitch for so long and didn't bother to report it, instead they treated it like a secret. whenever something's a secret that means something is fishy. The instant we (mischief) found out we had users in the forums discussing how to deal with the issue and once found out, they set the extra items aside for future deletion in case it was a bug or glitch. This means that we knew it might not be right to donate, but waited for an answer before we did donate. I think that was the main issue was one team instantly discussed what to do and another exploited it instead of bringing attention to it.
@Amber
understood. i also understand basically retconning and giving us trophies after complaining will create a possible precedent people will use in the future, so i get why it should t happen. i really do. i appreciate your contact with us and the rapport you have with many of us, even while we are "onery". if the likes on my first comment are any indication, i'm just venting a lot of people's frustrations so they are publicly recognized. thanks for putting up with it c:

@TracyH
i really don't see the parallel because you can still receive a polar fields trophy, it's not gone. this particular trophy IS gone now. bring up a past site event i wasn't present for that had a bug that was exploited to an unfair advantage that contributed to your team that was in the lead losing, and i will agree with you wholeheartedly and vociferously.
if not, have a nice day and let people get it off their chest so they can move on and have a good time on subeta. that's all we really want at the end of the day.

@TracyH
we are all entitled to our opinions, dear. yours just happens to be on the winning team's, rather than the losing teams'. can you really blame us for being more vocal considering what everyone knows happened?
@Amber
i really wish we would have pushed more and contacted staff, sure. some of this is us just being salty, like myself. i think if you polled most of the losers (especially on team mischief) 90%+ just wish we would have gotten a site trophy to satisfy our "bellyaching" . i like it better when we all get trophies for participating and the winning team gets more items and perks for their efforts.

I am sick of everyone bellyaching about the glitch thing. I never saw any report about it being a glitch. No Trophy, potion, forum title or aqua potion is worth me losing a plus 11 year acct. So Yes please let there be a way to communicate with staff and staff to communicate with us so we never have to be accused again about this stuff. Sorry to sound like a rhymes with witch, but I am sick of people saying my team cheated and abused a glitch because I am not a cheater.

Lol I'm one of those annoying people (I'm sure I'm annoying to the ticket staff) that I report every glitch and I usually try to or end up dealing with it myself and coming back to say btw ignore ticket or sorry I fixed it and I hope I don't anger anyone. I just want the issue to be made aware of and to make sure I'm not violating any rules or seem that I'm taking advantage. I'll prob continue to do it this way but I always feel bad when someone is assigned the ticket and is prob wondering why I wasted their time.

sorry staff, if you're trying to aim anything at team mischief it should be a runner-up trophy, not a call out. i think this was handled poorly and it being my first real site event i participated in quite actively... i'm still a little miffed.

Maybe the page for creating a ticket should be updated to reflect this? It says that tickets are not for reporting bugs, and links to the forums for that.
It would end a lot of confusion if there was a note that exploitable glitches can be reported via ticket.

@kbbob Just what I need, a ping group! As for your actual post, I understand the frustration of it! Our users are usually really good about reporting things, so I’m a bit surprised that no one did report it earlier in the day. This news post isn’t trying to put blame on anyone, it’s trying to stop something like what happened with the MB situation from happening again. I want people to feel comfortable (and not terrified they’ll be frozen or something) with reporting a bug or glitch or anything, really.
@METROID That’s why this post is happening, to help for future situations that someone might be hesitant in reporting something. A lot of people aren’t aware of the admin posts or site update, so any attention to that is great.

Unfortunately, it feels a bit too late for this post to have been made regarding this issue. But I hope it serves well in the future and is reminded the next time a team competition occurs again.

I think it did feel like Mischief was getting blamed a bit, but the fact that no one is getting blamed for not reporting it is also upsetting people. It was wrong for people to not report it. Sure, some people didn't know it was a glitch, but I'm sure there were some who did and continued to exploit it. I don't care what team they were on.In regards to the recent event, we were told after users had to discuss with each other how to report it. I don’t want there to be any confusion or hesitation in the future because I know people on team Mischief felt we were blaming them for not reporting something asap when they weren’t even sure how to report it.

@Speiro Yeah, that’s something I’m looking into! Not a feed for them, but at least make them have their own color for on forums so it’s easy to see their post (so we don’t have to admin them).

Does that mean that the staff will be checking these places or just... gleaning over? I'm still disappointed in how the glitch exploitation was handled.

Funny how when a thing was told as an exploit the staff waves it off for the recent contest we had >-> yeah
Kind of going of on a tangent, but the admin posts page would have been more useful during the event if it wasn't flooded with NPC posts. As much as I love NPC posts, maybe they could be put under their own tab or something?

Thanks for moving that to the drop down. I was wanting to check them out earlier but didn't see it on there.
