Who's That Subeta Pet?
We love when our users are able to be involved in the lore-building of Subeta. To that end, we'd like you to help out with the naming of a new pet species! The big reveal will be coming soon, but for now we're giving you the silhouette and some color palettes that we're using, as well as the following short description:
This pet comes from Shengui Guo and is quite large. It is gentle and wise, and has a strong connection to dreams and tea leaves. It has a long nose, tusks, and a mane that flows like it's made of spirit energy.
So let's hear your name ideas! Visit THIS FORUM THREAD to give your suggestions. Staff will pick out our 10 favourites (sorry Phanty McPhantface) and will put them in a poll for users to vote on. The winning name will become the new pet species name!
We'll stop taking suggestions on the forum thread on May 31st at 11:59PM - and the poll will be up a few days later once we've had a chance to go through the names. Now get your naming caps on!

there are some pretty cool names being suggested so far but i really hope the final one doesn't include "baku" at all. we already have bhakoru; they sound so similar and that would kill the hype for me tbh. but i still can't wait to see what it looks like! the pallets are gorgeous!
Just a suggestion, but since a lot of subeta pets have mini-versions of themselves as minions, can some of the finalist names be recycled to name the minion-spinoffs of it?
I'm ready to be voting already and see this new baby! Meh... The wait is like a slow agonizing death by pulling out my finger nails and gouging my eyes out with them... hrmph. We WANNA SEE THIS BABY!!!!!

I would hate to be the staff who has to read through thousands of posts and write all the name suggestions down. Good luck with that. Anxious to see the poll. :)

Since it's from Shengui Guo and that place is based off of Asian cultures, maybe take some of the words from some of the languages!

Yes!!!! As on facebook, woooo finally! Now reminder will have a subeta pet equivalent before I get an overlay. I hope the board of pictures gives a cool idea for the special pose ones.
omg is this a new pet seriously? Omg this is incredibly exciting! I can't wait to see what it is. Really hoping it's not an elephant like some are guessing. But now looking at its shadow more, it probably is and my excitement is now dwindling to absolutely nothing. x.x
Gajasimha after a mythological creature from southern Asia that has the head of an elephant an the body of a lion.
So many elephant-themed suggestions (understandable what with the nose and the tusks) but if it's a baku-inspired critter then wouldn't tapir-names be more appropriate? I'll have to ponder it...
Hey..y..if subetateam chooses a name inspired by an actual language, please, please run it by a native speaker first, rather than just picking words out of a dictionary, because, some of the stuff suggested..........

It's totally inspired from baku of some sort isn't it, haha (Yeah I know y'all can't answer). I mean just look at the recent cool dream-themed items that were released!
Oh, man... The possibility that Remnants is gonna FINALLY have a more appropriate species choice has me so excited holy hell. Like, the hippotu are nice but it was always just a "I'm settling" sort of choice for me because there wasn't anything remotely close to baku on this site.
