@Gossamer Thank you for saying that. I looked it up and you are absolutely correct. It was a hypothetical theory and they did not use a real cat. I am so relieved to know that, esp after all these years of believing otherwise. :)

ooo a most excellent ending to that story. But of course, the real life experiment wasn't cruel at all because there was no cat. It was a thought experiment not a real scientific one.
