Luminaire FAQ
Each day throughout the month, Melody will be giving out new treats. There are two achievements regarding Melody’s Cottage. If you visit every day through the 25th, you’ll receive an Essence of Melody, which is essential to making a nostalgic pet! If you make it every day of December, you’ll get the Melody Regular 2022 achievement. We haven’t added an item prize yet, but there will be one before the month finishes.
How do you get ornaments? You can donate sP to Melody after visiting her cottage for the day and receive an Old Box of Ornaments. When you open the box, you’ll find a random selection of ornaments. We will be adding some new ornaments later in the holiday.
Only want friends to leave your gifts under your tree or maybe no gifts at all? You can adjust your Luminaire gift settings here.
Just a reminder that trees "open" on December 25th! We will have a news post when you are able to receive your gifts. :gift:
Trees should show up on profiles and when using sCode correctly now!
You can release snow fairies from your inventory for the Free all the Fairies achievement. There is also an achievement, Fairy Collector for having one of each color snow fairy in your inventory.
Luminaire ends at 11:59 pm on December 31.
The Free Shop will not be happening during Luminaire.

Would you ever consider adding the ability to anonymously leave gifts under trees?
Gifting in the empty tree threads is my favorite part of Lumi, but once the trees open it makes me anxious when people feel obligated to thank me (and when I feel like I have to send thank yous to everyone). If I had the option, I would always prefer to gift anonymously.
If it were added, it could be an additional optional toggle like the ones we have to decide if everyone, friends, or no one can gift us?

Just thought, this is a little late, but wanted to remind people about the awesome Friend's Gift List feature! It might help to make this gift-filled holiday just a little bit easier~ ;)
You can add all (or some, no judgement. ha.) of your Subeta friends to a list, make notes about what you're going to send them, easily check their wishlist, and even sort them by if you've completed sending them their stuff yet!

Tree images have been fixed!
Keith did some sleuthing and fixed the issue where profiles were showing last years trees (or no trees if you didn't do one last year) as well as when using sCode! You should see your 2022 tree everywhere. Yay!

I don't care about MM, only tried it once but not interested so it's OK if they don't have it. But my tree is still showing the old one from last year.

I never liked MM and couldn't care less about it but I really hope that somehow we will finally be able to obtain all those items from last Lumi that have been sort of half-released all year. I'm so tired of seeing those broken items missing from my collections (e.g. the three foods my gourmand can never eat). They're cool items too. Then they were supposed to be released via Ice Fields or something just to get them out and never were. Please, all I want for Luminaire is those items!

I know it's not a solution for MM but maybe start or join a Secret Santa group? Maybe if you aren't expecting something in exchange for your gifts find random active users and send them anon gifts? Neither are great solutions if you don't like speaking to people but they are somewhat of a middle ground. ):
I personally disliked MM as I had 5 random users in a row that sent me nothing despite sending them gifts. It was quite the discouraging situation and I avoided using it ever since.

having the same tree display issues as others, even after clearing cache. but am grateful melody’s cottage is up and running, grateful for staff and the lovely Fireside this year, and hoping everyone has a warm and restful Lumi <3

I suppose I'll add my voice to the chorus of people skeptical that we'll even have MM this year. It's my favorite part of Lumi but after last year I just have no reason to believe that it'll be any different this year. If it does end up happening, fantastic, but I ain't gonna hold my breath.

I mean does it suck MM isn’t fixed yet? Yup. It does.
But I more so blame the jerks that were using it to be scummy and get free stuff to the point staff had to change how it worked.

@seraph It's not hard to have some sort of expectation when it comes to MM as they've had a YEAR to get it sorted and up and running. Heck, I'd just be happy to have the old way of doing MM, until they get the coding and whatever else in place to have the new way of MM available. MM is one of my favorite things about Luminaire on here since I'm not a big forum person. I am so beyond frustrated with this! Oh and the way they released the items you were supposed to get by participating in MM last year, I never saw a single one despite doing what needed to be done to get said items. Sorry....as much as I love Luminaire, I'm just salty about this.

Understandable that you feel that way when it comes to Mysterious Melody, @seraph. Last year was, quite frankly, a shit show when it came to it. That's why I'm not trying to promise anything specifically this time around.

It's extremely hard to trust staff's promises, I wont' have any expectations regarding MM and I suggest everyone does the same

Y'all should be fine gifting. When I go to individual people to give a gift, it shows the current year of their tree. I tested this with mine (using Subetateam, when going to my tree to gift I see my current year). I tested with @Wisteria too, their profile shows last year while going to individual gift it shows the right one. I'm working on figuring out why it's showing last year on profiles!

I made my tree last night, saved it, and then checked on my user page and it shows last year. I have cleared my cache multiple times, resaved my tree, and tried every thing I know to do. Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?
