Fresh and Flavorful: New Produce!

I often forget that my fave candy (jujube) used to be made with the fruit, hence their name! I'd love to actually try the fruit some day.
I live in the middle of Canada so if any grocery store gets different/unique fruits to us, it's probably not going to taste as good as having it closer to the source. I love seeing all these fruits here though; and they're always drawn so well!

Ooohhh Kiwano, that's my favorite because it's both so pleasant and unpleasant to hold in your hand. And the perfect color.

I hadn't heard of any of these except quince as it was in the nursery rhyme the owl and the pussycat haha

My brain is cursed so that every time I see/hear about the quince, I will hear "QUINCE! ((THAT'S A FRUIT))" from one of the Reader Rabbit learning CD games of my childhood come back to haunt me on loop the same as it did back then.
I also need to figure out which of these are Japanese/Japan-popular foods that my pet Senpai will need for his Japan Hoard.

I tried growing celutice in my garden the past two summers, and I never actually got to try it. The super well fed groundhog that hangs out near my house absolutely loved the stuff though haha.
Now to see if my pets on here will love it just as much.

I'm so excited to see feijoas on here. Probably my favourite fruit, and I always look forward to March when they actually become affordable. The sort of fruit where if oyu have even a single tree in your backyard, you're likely never going to be able to even give away all of your produce because there's just so much of it.

Familiar with all but the Celtuce, which I had NO idea existed. Now I have to see if I can find it...cuz yeah, new thing to eat. Quince are grown around here. They have to be cooked, they are far too astringent to just eat. Quince paste is a delicious thing though. We also apparently grow Jujubes here in the PNW. The Melon is likely similar to a Hami melon, which is white fleshed, crunchy and very sweet.

I love coming across random bits of new knowledge like this. Never know when it might come in handy! (Or even if it never does, it's just cool to know something I didn't before.)

Kiwano holds a special place in my heart for a very silly reason. My mom sent my dad to the store and added as he was leaving to "get fruit." Dude comes back with an armload of things none of us can identify, because he thought they looked cool. My mother was just like "Kevin I swear to god..." but mostly I remember that the kiwano was the coolest looking one, also the tastiest, and I realized then what puntec fruits from Neopets were based on.
It's a largely meaningless memory I guess but with my dad having been gone for so long it's nice to have it come up just the same.
Anyway. I'll be needing that for my pet's TC, clearly.

This is my first time coming across the English names of familiar plants! I will definitely be camping the shop, thank you Staff!
@capper09 Yes, many of these are often seen in Asian supermarkets. Smaller ones might not carry them, but I've seen more and more over the years. I have not seen Feijoa in such stores before, but definitely the kiwano.

When I was in my 20s my family took a cruise and we went to Costa Rica. We went to a produce market and I was amazed at how many fruits and vegetables I didn't recognize. Sometimes you don't know what you don't know until you know it XD
