It's nice to learn of holidays from other countries besides the ours here in the U.S. I know on other petsites canadians and other countries usually get the short end of the stick when it comes to holidays. I'm glad to see it is different here, I love learning new things. Is it on the same day as veterans day here or before?

I'm guessing it is also in honor of Veteran's Day here in the US on Monday. (We hold it on Monday here - basically just a Bank and Postal Holiday). I think more Americans pay attention to Memorial Day. Maybe?
