Jeryn I managed to find his dad's name too after a while but like you when I searched for it I didn't find anything on Keith <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0> Oh well at least the prize wasn't a minion like this one.
0

Ariel

Oh I'd overlooked that. Hooray, found it!

I did that too, but when I googled his dads name I only came up with 2 hits, both of them racing stats pages. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0>

Hnn. I can't seem to find this one anywhere. ._. Oh well. I suppose I'll buy the prize afterwards.

I don't think I'll find the answer to this one. The only way I can think of were I might find the answer is in an item description. And there's no way I'm gonna go through all those, especially when I'm not sure that's were the answer can be found <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>

I haven't found the new trivia yet, but I'm probably thinking too much. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>

I thought the new one was easy at first...Then I did the math...O_0 we'll see.....
0

DebiLee

On reading down again, there's never an article unless it specifically says that there is, like, if there would need to be, as in the title of a book, for example. It's always just the word or words.
0

DebiLee

The current one is pretty easy... I think... I hope... XD
0

need more easy trivias.
0

Clauster4

I Put it in monogram order cause i was all geek and looked up monogramming to see what order it was supposed to be in LOL Oh well Truly guys they are pixels we can earn all the fake pixel money our pixel bank acct will hold and buy one up thats the fun saving and getting that treasured item Just think you may rs a awesome item and forget all about that silly prize . Like debbie mentioned there will be more when they decide to dust off the awesomeness items during the holidays yay!!
0

DebiLee

If enough has been said then why do you continue posting? I did say that it was poorly worded to those using the archaic embroidery monogramming system.
0

tigerlily05

the in order referred to the word initials, not the term monogrammed

you should have stated that then.. this was very poorly written.. enough said again..
0

DebiLee

And, no, the winners won't be asked to delete their prizes, and the item won't be being re-used immediately.
0

DebiLee

Yes, it's Subeta related, otherwise it could probably be a lot of different things. Yes, but if you go in a store and buy something and ask to have it monogrammed you can choose the order of the initials (I've done it myself), so, as I said, the in order referred to the word initials, not the term monogrammed.

ok getting preturbed now on the new trivia......Debi can you please add a format or something.(like yes or no to the word THE, A ,AN etc)... the question is way too vauge... can it be found on the site or not.... i have like a kazillion possible answers just from google.
0

User not found:

I put KKK cause I was bein lazy Dx me wants goodie bag Dx Sorry Keith for Discrasing (sp?) your name XD
0

SunnyLittleBunny

that would have been bad..^^;; ('kkk',though im sure someone has those initials <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sigh.gif border=0>) so keiths middle name is what..benjamin, bernard, brandon, bryce..?? anywho, where was the answer finally found?? as you can tell,i have no goodie bag,but oh well!! XD
0

User not found:

I have a question about the new one.....Is this something on the site or is it something that must be googled? ..... it really isn't that clear.
0

Pantalaimon_712

I was thinking the same thing, Debi. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>
0

DebiLee

Actually, it was more of a 1 in 20 chance guessing, because some letters, such as Q, U, X, Y, Z, were unlikely... and I don't think that Keith's parents would have given him KKK as initials.
0

User not found:

Odd. It deleted my entire post.
"Ahh, so THAT'S what it was. I googled my butt off on that one. At least I got this one right, i think."
0

ThaMaster

If it was flawed, how is it right?
0

Lypsyl

Yeah I spent hours on google looking for any reference to a middle name and couldn't find one. Eventually just guessed - LOL like someone said, I had a 1 in 26 chance of guessing right.

Anyhow - yes, there have been some not so well worded trivias - some of which I got right, some I got wrong. But I just took a quick glance at the past few trivias, and realized that of the past 10, 7 of them were well done. No real arguments could be made that the answer could have been something else. Even the carrot one - was worded well enough.
0

DebiLee

There isn't a need to reuse it soon as the number needed were won. It will be used again either on another Keith significant day, or in November or December for the holidays, when we drag out and dust off all of the more popular old items.
0

DebiLee

Subeta related isn't the same thing as found on the actual site. If I asked... say... saze's first name, it might not be on the site (I don't even know what it is XD), but it would be Subeta related. And the holiday basically give it to as many people as possible Trivias aren't necessarily Subeta related, but Chim wouldn't have been aware of that when she answered that particular question.
0

Kamil

If they don't keep a record of incorrect responses, then, to be fair, they really should do another trivia with the same prize, very soon. DebiLee obviously thought that there was nothing saying trivia answers had to be on Subeta unless otherwise stated, but ChimeraandDream had stated just the opposite in a recent editorial. Crossed wires, and nothing major, unless you're the player who'd had the item on their wishlist since half-of-forever and didn't go offsite to look since you'd read that response in the editorial about a million times looking for the answer to other trivias. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>
0

Din0mite

It's useless to argue anymore. Apparently there is no way to right the wrong, so maybe the people here who did get the prize learned something about what they thought was correct. Bridal consultants everywhere are rejoicing. *wanders off to pout*

exquisite, No Comment on .php.
0

thamaster, they don't save the answers of everyone who attempted the trivia, so i don't think debilee can award those people, even if she wants too. i know this because i wasn't awarded a prize for a trivia even though i got it right, and debilee responded to my smail saying that they didn't keep an archive <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>

I do not think it is a matter of Prizes, Heck I won even though I know it is not right. An apology was given due to tha fact things should be found ON SITE not just by Googeling. And a Bit Poorly worded. Well make it Null or award tha right people.
0

Pantalaimon_712

errr, maybe that wasn't exactly what your looking for, but thats the only place I've seen trivia requirement-ish stuff
0

Kamil

It's on one of the editorials, DebiLee:

"Pennys_Paradise asked:
I heard in the PAST, Trivia questions could be from anything. On, or off, Subeta. Is this still true, or are Trivia questions now Subeta related ONLY?Trivia questions are now Subeta-related only, so you have to know your way around the site to find them, instead of just using Google.
(Answered by ChimaeraAndDream)"

I'm not sure which one, I just searched it in my editorials txt file.
0

Pantalaimon_712

Debi-

http://subeta.org/editorial.php?issue=14
0

DebiLee

Do you have a link to that? Because there are no specific Trivia requirements, so I would really like to edit that wherever it is, because it simply isn't true. However, as I said, I genuinely did believe at the time that this was on the site. On that one, carrots was the correct answer because of the word guessed in the Trivia; the guessed answer was carrots, not beanbags.
0

Gracie2484

That goodie bag has been on my wishlist forever and I searched everywhere and when I couldn't find it on the site I guessed, lol and got it wrong.
Oh well, i'm glad that prize will be in a future trivia so we get another shot at it<img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
0

ROFL Kamil....I'm right there with you on the "carrots" one. But, hey....I didn't complain then...so I'm saying my bit now. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0>
0

Oh, thank you DebiLee!
0

Thanks for commenting Debilee<img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif border=0> It's always nice to have a HMFIC step in<img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
0

DebiLee

Yes, in the 19th and early 20th century that would have been the case, which is what that states.
0

Kamil

The reason people complain is because the prizes end up costing so very much, and if you want it badly, but end up losing because the trivia is jacked up somehow - yeah, I think when that happens people have a right to get their knickers in a twist.

If you know you put the right answer, but the answer that ends up being 'correct' isn't what you put, and now you have to shell out ten million or so to get the prize you should have won . . . I'd be mad.

I didn't enter this one at all, because my 'stalk, much?' trigger was tripped on my fourth or fifth hop off of the google links, but I'm still annoyed at carrots supposedly being the answer to the one before last. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>
0

exquisite

thank you for clearing things up debilee <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> i appreciate that you took the time to come and answer our questions <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
0

exquisite

Actually, i read somewhere on the site that all the trivia answers can be found on subeta. so yes, it's a requirement unless they state otherwise in the question.
0

DebiLee

Okay, on the not on site issue, I genuinely thought that it was on the site at the time that the question was posted; I only just discovered that it no longer is. (It was an old Trivia question but the answer to it has evidently gone to NULL for some reason). And, yes, the question ended up being a bit poorly worded for those using the archaic monogramming rules for embroidery (which have been disputed and are not necessarily universally accepted); it referred to the actual initials in order, that's what it modifies, not the word monogrammed. This is actually the third time that this particular prize has been used, and the requisite number were won this time. But it will be used again in the future, just not immediately. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
0

Lamia_740

you do all realize that
A) the trivia game is a privilege and not a right and can be taken away from us?
B) questions and their answers are submitted by reg users who don't always research their questions and answers
0

ThaMaster

I would like to know How this answer was based.
0

Bagheera23608

Leaving this one out of it - what I said is still true.

And to throw more fuel on the fire - I don't recall anywhere saying ALL trivia answers would be found on site. They *may* tell us if it is Subeta related, but I don't recall anyone every saying that ALL trivia would be found on site. On this, I admit, I may be wrong and if someone feels compelled to prove me wrong, I'm fine with that.

Maybe when someone who is "perfect" starts doing trivia then everyone will always be happy with the answer every time. Until then, live with it, please? It's a game. Give 'em a break?
0

angelembryo

Couldn't find the last one no matter how many pages of Google search I went through, but I definitely got the new one right, and for some reason I'm oddly proud of that. :3 Nice one, l0l.
0

Allie_Marie

Yes well our knickers wouldn't be in a twist if those of us with the actual right answer got the prize...

Rules of monogramming:
In the 19th and Early 20th Centuries, when the rules for three-letter monograms were created, it would have been fairly easy to decide which letters represented which parts of an individual’s name.

For example, someone named Alice Canfield Bostwick would immediately recognize this monogram as her own – first name initial (A) on the left, middle name initial (C) on the right, and last name initial (B) in the center, larger than the rest.
0

ThaMaster

Bagheera23608, It's not people complaining about tha knickers. Just about things not being defined. Mono is 1...Yes? Look it up, or get married, last name is in tha Middle. <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

People have a right to complain about this one. For starters, it wasn't able to be found on Subeta. Secondly, KBK is NOT correct. As other people have said, when things are monogrammed its first initial, last initial, middle initial.
0

smilesnz

Yea some people complain, I think we all do at one trivia, maybe more. Where are the trivia guidelines and how to answer trivias on here..as trivias seem to change all the time, off site, on site, in properties of an item etc

I just got that off of dictionary.com. The definition of monogram doesn't actually state the order the letters should be in.

well i couldnt find his middle name anywhere on the site, not his profile, not his siggi, not editorial, not staff page, not even the mail address in the GA area where you buy them.. I also googled him and found nothing, yet the answer should be on subeta somewhere. I too would like to know where
0

Bagheera23608

You know. If people keep complaining about EVERY SINGLE trivia, they just might stop doing them. I wouldn't blame them. Happens every time a new question is answered SOMEBODY has to get their knickers in a twist....*sheesh*
0

BloodlustMagician

woodnymph, then whoever did that monogramming apparently doesn't know how to.
0

Allie_Marie

This question was so unfair, so those of us who actually know what monogramming is and the proper order get it wrong and the people who just put in the initials get it right? This should be redone.
0

ThaMaster

I got awarded tha right answer even though it was wrong. Last name is in tha middle, until proven wrong. OK I am not wrong. You need to award everyone. Hey things happen when it is not defined. I will give mine to someone who got it right if it is not taken care of.
0

Din0mite

There was no "over thinking". Some of us deal with Monograms on a daily basis. Original monograms (mono...meaning 1) were the first letter of the surname (last name for those who don't know that one either). Later, the first letter of the first name and middle name were added on either side to "dress it up" so to speak. So the correct answer for MONOGRAMED initials are KKB.

And I found the middle name by googling Keith Kurson, found a site that listed his dad as Bruce, so googled Bruce Kurson, and found a family tree type page that listed middle name Benjamin.
0

Vanellope

i didn't know there was a correct way of monogramming. my sister had something monogrammed for her boyfriend and they did it MTJ which is first, middle, last for him.
0

exquisite

this is seriously unfair. and i'm not just saying that in a whiny "just because i didnt get it" attitude <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sigh.gif border=0> there should have been two answers, one for standard monogramming format, and one for the listing. there have been trivias with two answers before, so why not this one?
0

Terra

Exactly. I mean, in trivia #389, it was said that the question was non Subeta related right at the start, so we wouldn't waste our time looking around here. I thought that if you couldn't find the answer here, they would have said something like that. But they didn't. :/

I got this one , but I had to search off-site to find the answer . I actually found the answer on a really strange web site that have nothing to do with subeta and I also found it by pure luck , since I was searching for something completely different ... Anyone know if the answer was actually on the site ?
0

AniVasion

I am disappointed it wasn't anywhere on the site, liek the cash shop mailing instructions or on that forum thread that Keith answered all kinds of questions....but at least it wasn't a great minion or piece of clothing. Of course, that depends on what is inside the bag....
0

exquisite

"That's not exactly fair when it's asked for monogramming, not just his initials."

EXACTLY. monogramming initials is a whole different set up than just listing them.

Congrats to those who won, but I personally think it was a rather unfair question.
0

VINYL

This one's hard.
0

BloodlustMagician

I'm sorry, but your answer of kkc for the trivia was incorrect.

Haha, I was taking a stab in the dark. I really didn't know his middle name. Who knew I'd be one letter away? XD

Those who put KBK should have gotten it wrong. The CORRECT way of monogramming his initials is KKB, first, last, middle. That's not exactly fair when it's asked for monogramming, not just his initials.
0

Lamia_740

1st: how many of these were won?
2nd: I'm sorry for those of you who didn't get it right but c'mon. It seems to me you just overthought it. Just my opinion here.
0

Rusty

Well your ment to be able to find all the trivias on the site
0

too true- i couldn't find it anywhere on the site, and i even tried google and couldn't find anything about his middle name <img src=http://75.126.139.60/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_dead.gif border=0> i thought all trivia answers had to be able to be found on the site.

0

Terra

Where is the answer on the site? Because if it wasn't on this site, shouldn't they have mentioned it, so we would know to look somewhere else?
0

Arrelie

I got it right, but it was pure luck. I had googled the name and found quite a bit of things, but nothing I seen ever said the middle name. I seen something that said his father's name was Bruce, so I made the assumption that he might have been named after his father...thus have Bruce as his middle name. I guess it's a good thing we didn't have to actually put what the middle name was or I wouldn't have gotten it.
0

exquisite

eh, the trivia should have had two answers- KBK and KKB, it all depends on how you write it- formally or informally.
0

Din0mite

"If Keith were to order monogrammed sunglasses, what would the initials on them be? (Format: Just all three letters, nothing else, no spaces between them, IN THE CORRECT ORDER)."

IT does NOT say "How they are SAID"
0

Bagheera23608

*sigh* never mind...I'm going to bed.....
0

tigerlily05

Well I agree.. the word monogram should not have been used unless you know the rules of monogramming and this is First initial, Last initial, Middle initial.. has been this for thousands of years.. think this should be done over for this prize.. question should have read what initials would Keith put on his sunglasses.. not monogrammed on his sunglasses.. not very happy about this one either..
0

Din0mite

EXACTLY Lewysgirl!!! We completely got screwed for knowing the proper ettiquite of the monogram world!
0

Bagheera23608

Din0mite - I'm sorry you're so ticked, but nobody's initials are ever SAID kkb. They are always said KBK. It just looks that way in SOME fancy monograms. Look at it this way - you were right! Better than I did!
0

lewysgal

So how many won this one? LOL I was one letter off plus, I always thought that in monograms, the last name was put in the middle of the monogram. Like KKB. The Kurson would be the large initial in the middle and the first and last name would be on either side of it.
0

Din0mite

I had to go offsite to find the answer. And STILL got it wrong!!! Grrrr.....*still pissed* MONOGRAMS with 3 letters go in the order "FIRST name LAST NAME MIDDLE name" *steams*
0

Mryddian

I forgot to look - oops lol
I would have gotten it wrong anyways.
