I have a request and I think this is the second best place to list it...suggestions rejects my attempts. Maybe we can put in a message to the people who bid when we decline and they can get that in their notice? I feel awful rejecting offers even if the person had a reading comprehension problem :p This would be more convenient than going to their profile when rejecting an offer for a specific reason too. Just a thought.
Some of these 'bugs' cannot be gotten rid of, like the back button. IF they could have don't it, they would have put it on the Forums (which mean I don't have to go around huge circles when I have clicked the wrong thing).

Yay thankyou for making it go to their profiles =3 One thing that would make me happy with them (wait 2) is been able to have a choice whether to search "exact" or "containing my phrase" And to be able to search for the items that were glitched before.

Friends complaining about the new trades is only going to make the staff very mad. I've been reading these comments and many could have been worded in a nicer way. I can't see the trades or the forums in foxfire. They do work in IE7 even though it is slow. I wouldn't blame the staff one bit for being upset over reading these comments. They put everything they have into this site and when they change something they shouldn't be put down for it. Please just be patient with the staff and let them get the bugs worked out of it. I enjoyed the trades too but I'm not putting anyone down because of what has happened.
Just continue enjoying subeta, make donations to keep it up and running and have patience for everything to be worked out in time. Most sites like this one are going through major changes that many members don't like. It's the way of the future so we either stay loyal and learn to adapt or quit and walk away.

eww i think you guys should just turn it back to the old way except keep how long ago the person was on. So far i have lost items,sP and i get messed up searches. I also hate that when you click on their name it taskes you to their otherr trades instead of their profile x-x

I can get over the whole "new trade system!" thing. Even the faulty searches. But I hate the glitch I got due to the thing and I'm so paranoid about watching my sP now.

Another thing I just... hate about this system, is that when you do get the event of someone offering on it, you are brought to the main page of the trades instead of directly to view the offer by clicking the event. x:

I must say that this new system proves to be most disappointing :/ I would state the many problems it has but they're basically 2GodBeTheGlory's and everyone else's reasons. Then again, I'm not a fan of how the forums are that way either- it doesn't improve speed and takes even longer to find anything and manuver around (especially going back or refreshing the page)

People keep saying its faster but its not, Because once you put an item up it doesnt show up immedietly, so you wait and wait and wait. I tested it and put up something and timed it, it took 2 minutes for the item to even SHOW up in the trades.....2GodBtheGlory I agree it would be great if they could add a Rarity beside the item
I would seriously ask the staff to reconsider this revamp. Revamps are supposed to help make things run smoother. Ok, every revamp needs a bit of adjusting, but this one just makes trading more difficult, when the old version was just perfect and easy to use.

I liked how when you previously got an event notice that someone offered on a trade you could click on it and it would lead directly to the offer. It just goes to the main trade page with options now.

@ topizots: I don't understand how anyone could like them. 0.o It just feels to me the trades were recoded by someone who doesn't frequently uses the trades... Since anyone who does use them a lot, would have jumped on the fact that that clicking on the username doesn't lead to their profile. If a user searches up an item, they would click on their name to see their profile, either to see their wishlist, or to comment or mail them about the item. If they searched for a specific item, nobody wants to see the other trades the person has up...
Just chiming in about the need for a direct link to a user's profile on the trade. From there one can access their other trades as well as the very important wishlist, both from one click, whereas now one has to open search, paste or type in the name, click, and click again. At least there should be a link to both the other trades and the profile or wishlist. Otherwise, when the bugs are worked out I think this system will be fine, and I bet it's easing the server load.

I like the update regarding how many time they've not been online, but I agree with everyone: the search feature does not work at all, clicking on the username should link to their profile (since we need to check their wishlist for things they like), and we cannot use the back button (similar as in the forums, which I also don't like).

I am totally at a loss as to why people hate the new trades so much. I have used it recently, completed 2 trades without issue and seriously don't know what the problem is. I personally love it!
It's not a regular firefox issue, it's what I use, though lately have preferred Opera since it doesn't refresh if you click back.

Oh my God! Search isn't working AT ALL anymore today! Somebody asked for 1 of my items, I can't look it up for frequency to determine a price, I only find their trades via a detour and then cannot look up their items I might want to swap, to see their rarity!

I want to thank the staff for attempting to make things better, but I have to agree with the majority of people in these comments. I do not like the javascript thing, it took me forever to get used to it in the forums, its gonna take even longer in the trades, as well as I hate the fact that you cant get to a user's profile by clicking their names.
In other words, I like the old system better, but I love the new idle and gone for 30+ day warnings, saves a lot of time! And I could deal with the javascript thing, if the names lead to the profiles rather than the trades. =)

i really like that you can see if they have been gone for a while, like most people here, but yeah search isnt working

I do understand that the staff was trying to help, but the new trades aren't exactly the best revamp. The little warning is a good add on but the 'search' option won't work in any way. I looked up bloodred potion and ended up with Angelic Booster Pack. If an ''exact'' or ''containing words'' feature was added to the drop down box it would probably help with teh searches, especially when you don't know the full name of the item<p>

I'm joining the ranks of people very, very unhappy about the trades. Pretty much the only neat feature is the one that tells you if people are inactive. The fact that you can't even hit back now to keep going is beyond frustrating. You also can't click on peoples' trades from their profiles to see what they have up, which is a bit frustrating - this is how I always check my friends' trades. Also, not being able to click a person's user name so you can go leave them a mail and a comment... either way, as a lot of other people said, you 'fixed' a lot of things that didn't need fixing at all.
I hope the PIN feature will be back soon. I can't imagine accidentally accepting a junk offer. <img src=http://www.subetax.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_happy_sweatdrop.gif border=0>
Not liking the trade revamp. I don't use it all that often but, like others, I want to get to a user's profile rather than their trades. It was working late yesterday but has stopped again. Also, searching for Princess gave me a completely different item - although it did have the word Princess in it. Also, while I'm having a moan <img src=http://www.subetax.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> I really dislike the italics and the fact that the text is no longer centered. I appreciate the staff worked hard on this revamp but it's not popular, it didn't need doing and the only benefit is to be able to see when a user was last online. Please consider changing it back?

Love the new trades, the search is a bit wonky (sometimes shows items that have nothing to do with the search), but several of the items that were search glitched now show up. Listing how long the user has been offline is a very useful feature.
Search is still not working. Still no back function, the most useful function on ANY website. Why is the search defaulted at looking up 'Users' when most people need to find a particular item, not a user through the trade search.

1) I agree with Caity. It's far too hard to navigate when everything is run from the same page. Having to go the long way around to reach pages is just annoying.<br /><br />

I won't say I hate it, because I appreciate that the staff is trying to like make things better, but I dislike the new trading center, it takes too long to load, it's not faster like some people say it is. I don't like how you have to manually go to someone's profile, why do I want to see someone else's trades when I want to comment their profile...? I don't like the unrelated searches, sure, that's good for the shops, if you don't have the exact words, but I looked /exactly/ for a Velvet, and had different items pop up. The Trade Center is like my life on Subeta, and now it's...exactly like forums, slow and unresponsive. I know you guys are still tweaking it, but just like pet revamps, don't you think we should have gotten to choose from this trading center or the other...? :/
I don't like the way you click on the traders username (to get to their profile to either smail or comment to them) and you get taken to all there trades. If this is the way it is, then please please have something where we can get to the traders profile so we can smail or comment. Otherwise we have to take the long way around, do a search for the username, click there username which takes us to there profile, then smail or comment. I don't care for it either. =/ The links to the usernames now take you to their trades instead of their profiles.. more hoops to jump thru to get to their comment box...

I know its always nice to try something new, I do hope that you at least listen to your users this time. I absolutely hated the forums after you decided to change those. Everything Im feeling about this new trade system has already been said, so no need to say it again, just letting you know heres another not so impressed fan. And Alpes the italics hurt my eyes too for some reason.
I do like the part that says if they have been gone for a while, that is nice. The missing parts, it doesn't say what you got when you accepted the trade, or asked for the pin number.. :S Just accepted a 6m trade offer, and that made me nervous as heck.

Yea, I like just getting the item I want up, and been able to go straight to the persons profile instead of their trades. The only new thing I like is saying how long they are gone for
ANother problem is, the partial searching, I want to search for Tomb, and it's doing a partial search for items with the word Tomb in it, and i'm getting every item EXCEPT the Tomb it's highly irritating!

The changes to trades i just do not like at all.. especially the cacheing thing.. i dont even understand what the point is in doing that. It was nice to be able to see trades right as they were put up. The search leaves much to be desired as i see alot of other people have mentioned the same problems. Hope things go back to the old way or at least give us a choice. If not i guess we will have to learn to live with it.

it keeps giving me random results after I've put in a specific search for example, I've searched for 'archan elixir' and I keep getting different kinds of archan elixirs (field, lilac, dawn, etc) so it's kind of annoying just pressing search just to get what I want.

I love the fact that it shows when the user was approximately last on. BUT this new system isn't my dish. I'd like it to be easier to refresh, it is a hassle. Trading is about speed - because it takes a few moments people get worried about items getting glitched. Would it be possible to have the option of choosing this trade version and the old version both possible. Thank you.

I am not a fan of this new system at all. It was alot easier to hit f5 while doing my work online, now I actually have to put some effort into it and well yeah. ;p That took all of the joy out of it, and I probably will not be trading so much now because of it.

It's more difficult to find items you have to Searching brings up random results or item names that don't even match what you're looking for. Along with a host of other issues which have been mentioned ~ bugs or intentional ~ I hope the trade system gets a bit more polished.

So far, the improvements are okay- I haven't noticed anything huge or major, though, so it's all good.
Ok, there is another problem with this, sorry, not trying to complain, but more trying to explain what's wrong, so you guys can fix it.
The cache thing gets annoying when trying to offer on an auction, since well, the auction is there for us to see, but sometimes it does not exist anymore, so it's a little problem. It only tells you it does not exist after you offered LOL

Hm...I don't know if its been mentioned before but; can you make it where we have to enter our PIN to accept a trade? I was disappointed when I saw that feature had been removed.
I also don't like how when we click on the username it goes to all their trades instead of their profile. It will make it alot more difficult to get to their profile and ask for seperation, or haggle
I don't like it. I search for bear plushie and get tons of lots, all nothing to do with my search. I like the bit that tells us when users have been off for, but I dont like having to search through them all, and having completly unreleated results

There was nothing wrong with the trades before, I don't see why a new update was needed. I understand that the staff put a lot of effort into this project but personally, I think this update wasn't absolutely necessary and there are other things that need to be updated like the broken Oekaki links (just an example).

Well, whenever I type in an item to Search, I only get trades with that item in it...I'm not getting random trade lots like others are complaining of. That's weird...
Astrile, thats because while you're in the Trades, you're really only on one page the entire time, and even if you click around to different trade areas, it's still on that one old page. So the info doesn't get updated. Sorry if that made no sense. xD;

I hope this gets fixed so all Firefox users can use trades. I don't think this new system had many fans when it was introduced to forums - why extend it to something vital as trades? (especially when some firefox users can't load pages in it at all).

arg! this new version is frustrating with not being able to use the back button, and how when you search for something, it doesn't only give you the EXACT item- it comes up with random other items with the name. I don't want random items- i want the item i searched for! just bring the old system back! please!

Um... ok I'm now starting to get a little annoyed by it. When I click on the trade link from someones profile it doesn't take me to their trades. It takes me to the trade search. Is this a bug? the search isn't working probily when you loke for some thing i tried loking for Dark Mage Amulet and the trades that shod up didn't have it in them.

Out of everyone I know, people only click the usernames to get to the PROFILE so we can get to their WISHLIST, because a lot of people want wishlist items for their trades. We don't want to see what else they have to trade. e___e

Heres a slight suggestion, ya dont have to listen to me, but I think it would make the trades great: If (jus like you have this user hasn't been seen in 3 days, 30 days, all that jazz), if the person is online, then it would say something like This user is online right now! And while you're making all of these 'improvements' it would also be nice if you fixed the glitch where not all peoples items are showing up when they're searched for. When I did a search some of my items <i>still</i> aren't showing up. It makes it tough to trade when people can't even see I'm selling certain items.
I don't like that when I search for a specific item a ton of other completely unrelated trades show up. I searched for the item Clawsion Toy Wand and 100 lots showed up, only 16 of them actually had the item I searched for. Why should I have to sift through all that junk when I searched for a specific item?
I despise the italics. I don't know if it's just me, but it's too hard to read large chunks of italics. The search feature would be nice...if it worked properly. The notification and deletion of old trades is nice, but it would have been so much better if they had just added those features to the old trades, instead of just updating the whole thing. Also, I miss the refresh and back buttons. Like most people, I relied heavily on those, especially to browse newest trades. I'm also wondering what the index link is for. It doesn't seem to really do anything.
Mhn. thanks. I just find it horrible to trade. I had a reserved lot, and it took me ages to find it- I couldn't search for my Wicked Aura Flame in the trades, nor could I see it when clicking on the user's trades from her profile. And she said that she almost rejected my offer, since she got no notification that it was me who offered and thought it might be someone else.
I really appreciate the new update in the trading center showing how long the person has been offline. A real time-saver. Thank you.
I totally agree with Earthen's comment. Aside from the notification and deletion of old trades nothing else in the new system is in any way an improvement over the old system. I would love to see the old trade center return, though I doubt that will happen at this point.
In general I like the new trading system. Is it true that trades are cleared after 30 days? If that is true, then that is a HUGE improvement, but why oh why wait a month? Why not two weeks? I can't see where it would hurt buyers or sellers to clear trades after 2 weeks of inactivity.
I would like it if mine showed up at all.... but i do think the newest ones should come up first but mine hardly ever even shows up.... makes it hard to trade!

I'd keep the notifications about how long the user has been away for and the deletion of old trades- that is the only improvement over the old- and set the rest back to the old system That is the only thing salvageable about this new system.

Hm, well user links work now, but they just forward you to other trades by the same user, was that intentional? :-/ I kind of liked being able to go to the user's page right away to comment or sMail.

I also agree with clearing older trades. Honestly, if I was that person, when I got back on and if there was an offer for what I was asking for I'd just accept it right away. But the thing is, those items have inflated, so the user is getting ripped off because they didn't know. BUT if the trade was canceled, I'd look up the price and then know it went up, so no ripping off would take place. xD; Does that make sense?

I don't like the switch to the forum-esque system, quite a hassle. If I type in an item name, chances are I want to see that exact item, I should not have to keep hitting search ten times because of similarly named items coming up when I search. If you want to have a feature like that, make it optional to search for lots including phrase or identical to phrase. The 30-day notification system is an improvement, but cancelling the trade after a certain period of time - I would actually suggest two weeks - would be a better idea IMO. The person can always put the item back into trades if they are active. If they are not active, there is no point in having their item cluttering up the trades.

One annoying thing I've noticed is the inability to highlight an item name and copy it to your clipboard. It's like this when the page first loads, at least in Firefox 2.0.0.4. I haven't tried any other browsers yet.
There are some hoops I can jump through to finally get the copy function active, but it is a bit of a pain to do this as I often see items in trades other than the item for which I was searching and then I'll want to search for them. It was a lot easier when i could just highlight and copy and paste.

I don't like that new system that is used for the forum as well. As Orchipea said, it is annoying to not be able to use the back button. And I looked at the profiles anyways, so yeah, I'll miss the old system. But if it works better for others...then it's ok I guess.

Nothing was wrong about the old trades version, except some lots would vanish from the search (which I believe was because someone would use symbols in their description and cause chaos in the ones that would appear below it...)

I was upset when the forums went to this and am not too happy to see the trades follow suit. It is rough on older computers/slower connections and you can use your back or refresh buttons... which I rely on heavily. I used to spend a lot of sp going through the recent lots when I was bored, and I'm pretty sure I won't be doing that anymore. <img src=http://www.subetax.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0> The new feature that tells you when people are "gone" for an extended amount of time is nice, but I always just looked at their profiles, anyways. For those of you trying to look for specific items, it can be easier if you use Ctrl+F to find it. It's okay for the time being, but I definitely do not want to always have to do that.
And err...that trades come up that have nothing to do with the items you searched for. What if you have a time limit? Like in Item Hunt? You shouldn't have to search everything. I miss my old trade center -grabby hands- XD

I like how it says if the person hasn't been on in a while now. It saves the trouble of going to everyone's profile and looking at the last seen (which a lot of people have hidden). I agree with AristoDragon, it would be nice to have newest trades on top for easy searching. That would save loads of time.

People always seem to offer and never get a response because you can't see that they aren't on. But the items that are taken out of trades, should be placed back into their items. There are alot of items in trades that there are only one of. Being Offline for more than 30 days is a good reason to clear up trade mess. Considering there are so many that have been absent from Subeta for more than 30 days. What's the use of really seeing those that are sitting there with prices that are either way above or way below recent going prices if that user isn't on for so long?

And I like the warnings for people being offline, but maybe if they just weren't included in the search after 30 days? Or at least but the newest on top... Yeah, how about putting the newest on top so we don't have to go through all the ones that have been hanging around for thirty days? That would be nice.

I like how it tells you if the person has been off for a while...but I dont like how you cant click on the username
I tried it a couple times, seemed to work fine, then got a search where nothing relevant came up (searched "chocolate cereal'-last I looked there were only a few in trades) and I got a huge number of lots that have nothing with chocolate or cereal in them... I do like the offline over 30 days warning, and see no reason to consider that as offsetting to the hidden status for gold members--it's not specific after all. <img src=http://www.subetax.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0>
Maxthon is an alright browser that uses tabbed browsing, it's pretty close to Firefox but I think it uses an IE build, so you could try the trades with that.
Dumb idea for deleting the trade if they havent been on in 30 days. If there are few of that item and most get cancelled most likely someone that owns that item will not know a price. Then think it is rare because few are on trades and it will definately cause inflation.

I'm having the same problem as Muffdaddy. Also, none of my trades show up when I search them. Guess I'll wait for the bugs to be worked out.
Im also having search issues, just tried searching for Bloodred Booster Pack and none of the trades that showed up had it.

Thank you for added usernames again. And i completely agree about removing trades that are 30 days or older. They get in the way, and when there are a lot of them, you cant even see the newer trades that have the current pricings.
I dont like the search very much in the trades. Tried to search for Clawsion Fountain to price mine and it gave me a ton of trades that didnt even have the item in the lot. No idea if thats a bug or not, but its annoying. Lol. =P

If I search for a certain item like Cat Katana it has the item i wanted in first trade but all the rest that came up have nothing to do with what I searched.

The Idle warnings are awesome. Saves a bunch of us SO much trouble. (Especially if the user has the Hidden status) Now if I could only get my lazy butt in action and RS again <img src=http://www.subetax.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sigh.gif border=0>
Clearing all trades frequently can have some inflation problems, but taking down ones where the person hasn't been on for a couple of weeks is good.

The search is a bit wonly...I did a search for palo, and it returned a whole bunch of Flopalops, but no Palo.
And instead of adding when they last were seen online, why not just clear all the trades every week or two....
Nononono! I can't use the trading center now, it's just like the forums. Firefox HATES it. It won't load. You guys need to find a way to make it Firefox-friendly. I can't use the forums anymore 'cause of it, and now the trade center? It just seems a bit ridiculous that so many Firefox users can't use the forums, and so you make the trade center just like it. :

The offline warning certainly is nice...i also think that if a user is offline for over 30 days..they should have they're trades cleared and items returned to the inventory.
Might just be me, but clicking the trades link, via user information isn't bringing you to the trades, rather the search option with 'user' selected.
P.S. I agree also about wishing the usernames were still clickable. I can see why the back function doesn't work - it's been rescripted like the Forums were, to be faster and more reliable, etc. But is there any way to have the name-click function back and/or the clicking back function? It's cool, but it would be very useful to be able to click on the name of the user to get to their profile. Many users say they want wishlisht items and it's now harder to get to the user profile to see their wishlist.

The cache annoys me a bit too - but I'm confused about something. I did a search for Safety Pin and it came up with a bunch of unrelated trades... wonder why?

I don't use the trade center much, but it seems amazing how many people hate the forums. It only took me a few hours to get used to it when they changed. It's really not that hard to just click the links to go back.
I don't really like the fact that you can't click on the usernames. That was really handy when you wanted to comment/mail the owner of the lot to make an offer or separate an item. Otherwise, it's pretty good.
