You know Moonsyne, that was my exact problem, I even ended up mailing Debi about it...then today I realized that the symbol can still have a name, even if it isn't named by the IPA for phonics. The (IPA) may have only been there to clarify how to find the symbol we were looking for, the actual symbol itself is still a letter in the Greek or Latin alphabet, and that name is upsilon, about as official or formal, I guess, as you know, alpha, beta, etc. What I'm saying is, and this threw me for a loop too, is that probably the question wasn't asking for what wasn't the IPA's formal name, but the informal name for that symbol, separately.

The answer wasn't either of the ones I found listed. Man. X Guess there were just way too many informal names for that letter. goes back to begging someone to trade for the rune book
Dragons_rock, it was called a lowercased Upsilon formally, horseshoe u informally. Omega is an entirely different Greek letter.

I got it right. X3 Thank you dad for explaining the question to your confused daughter. XD
Your answer horseshoe u for the trivia was correct! Youve been given an Enchanted Eagle Owl Feather and 10000sP I thought I got it wrong!

Crysti, I actually tried doing that, but, I don't think my computer likes foreign letters, so any time I copied and pasted the symbol... all I got was a box.

Happy Hallneweasterankahatricks Day! (Translation: Happy Halloween, New Years, Easter, Hanukah, St. Patricks Day!) XD But no Christmas was involved... MERRY CHRISTMAS! ^^

The redraw of the person holding the pretty pink package is really nice. I set it as my computer wallpaper for today. ^^
Upsilon is what it is called (small Latin letter upsilon-from wikipedia) but is not the informal name. In Wikipedia by searching with the actual symbol (copy and paste works well), you would see it's informal name is horseshoe u.
Yay, I knew this one without even looking

I got my answer the good old fashioned way. Out tof the front of my pocket dictionary. I then confirmed it to be correct on wikipedia. Upsilon participated as the second element in all falling diphthongs.
well, I got as far as "voiced labialized velar approximant" and couldn't find the horseshoe u. So, I decided on the actual informal of W and put in Dub. as in Dubya or C Dub etc etc.
Ooops LOL
Ooops LOL

Mouhaha, thank you for an awesome trivia! I loved researching! debates selling feather The new one is just too easy XD

Awe man, I got the trivia wrong. Oh well.
I just guessed plain old "u" because I didn't know what they meant by IPA. Ah, well. I didn't really want the owl, anyway. I just wanted to sell it.
Misty, I thought it would be Omega too, but, that's not the Omega symbol. The Omega symbol is a complete 180 of the "horseshoe u".
Oh man... it was horseshoe u? lol I don't know why, but I was thinking it was something like horseshoe... it even crossed through my mind, but it never occured that'd be the answer. That's just funny.

Yay I found this...
