The Plushie Parlour has phased out its old dragon plushies, and is celebrating the new version by releasing three brand new colors with them!

Why are so many people going off about the whiskers like its the problem. Its not. Its the fact that the revamp is just a totally different pet! Usually revamps keep to the original design with better shading and a neater overall presentation /of the same creature/ The fact that not only were the whiskers /removed/ wings were /added/ simple details like the fact the nose is rounded instead of keeping to its more boxy shape (which looked good), the eyes were changed and even its overall anatomy seems different. Which is why people are saying they destroyed the additude of the dragon and why so many people are unhappy.
0

Draken

scy64 yes the three new colors are nuclear, dark matter and marsh..I have a dragon gallery also lol. IMO..even if they added stitches to these, people STILL wouldnt be pleased
0

Scy64

I personally love this new revamp. The original version of these plushies were nice, but these seem to have a bit more of a personality to them. Then again, I have a dragon gallery so I was very pleased when many of my old plushie turned into this new version!

I'm a bit confused though- the post mentions that there was a revamp and then three new Dragon Plushies available? I know Nuclear is new, and I'm sure that the DM version is new, but I know BR has been out for a while. Is the third new one they're talking about the Marsh version? I looked it up (it exists), but I never had it in my gallery.
0

Mackenzi

Explain but not justify. You can explain and we'll listen to why (DNA?) didn't add stitches but they still don't look like plushies.
0

User not found:

they look like minions..
0

Malabui

The new 'dragon plushies' look more like minions than plushies. They just are not plushie shaped.
0

DebiLee

There are posts in the Bragging and Complaining Forum, Revamps sticky that explain the current lack of stitches on the plushies.
0

Mackenzi

I agree with Tacettaur, they don't seem very plushie-ish.
0

Sweetie

The new plushies are cute, but all look a bit chibi-ish? (young or babyish?)
btw I was a previous dragon owner... I gave up my chibi dragon because I definitely did not like the revamp of the chibi dragon - the new owner made it a field dragon which I absolutely love! I am a big fan of the dragon revamp - in my honest opinion the wings and the pose are fantastic!

I thought plushies had stitches by default? These are not plush toys. You can't tell they're not minions.

I think 'everyone' is far from the truth..it seems more like a few people making a lot of noise, the ones that make the most noise are the ones upset. The only thing I'd want to see changed on all the pets is to have the artists do a little lipo, most pets look obese rather then a healthy weight let alone 'thin'. XP
0

User not found:

This just disappoints me in the end. No compromise was reached and the users who were looking forward to the re-revamp are pushed aside like nothing happened. And I find it funny how long this issue on this revamp has been dragging on while other pet revamps weren't even a 1/4 like this.

Agreed. NO ONE is even paying attention to the fact almost EVERYONE wants a re-revamp done on it. We have enough dragons with wings, let alone pets with wings.
0

User not found:

I love them, but I'd love them more if the darkmatter dragon was updated too from the old not near as pretty image to a new awesome one. ^^;
0

FiReTeAr

Whoops grammer mistake
0

FiReTeAr

Aww it's they're so cute!
0

GaruruWulf

Oh my god, I love them! Man, they've really jumped up in price too. I'll have to wait for them to come down before I get the rest for my gallery. D=

Also, I love the dragon's new look, much more than the old one. The new design is the whole reason I have two dragons now, and maybe a third soon.
0

Mackenzi

So I'll be selling my dragon plushies now...
0

Mackenzi

( It's not just the freaking whiskers, it's the whole look! Whoever re-drew the dragon didn't get what the old dragon was about, they just gave us a new pet. Now the uber adorable plushies have been redone and the suck. Boooo.
0

Andromeda

The plushies don't look like plushies. They look more like minions. They're cute, but not plushies.
0

*Sells off her collection* I already pounded my actual dragon. It's been ruined from the transition from Chinese to European. Least the plushies were ok from the old dragon! .......and this is further ruins it.

This just disappoints me in the end. No compromise was reached and the users who were looking forward to the re-revamp are pushed aside like nothing happened.
And I find it funny how long this issue on this revamp has been dragging on while other pet revamps weren't even a 1/4 like this.
0

Not starting anything.... but I think some of the colors would look better in old style and some look better in the new style.
0

User not found:

Thank you Varicolored. .... Ok now that I see the old ones yes I can see how some people might be upset with the new ones..
0

varicolored

I do, Looney.

0

Kelpo

These are cute plushies. Thanks to the artist that drew them.

I also am expression a bit of a concern. This does mean that the dragon redraw is permanent right? since the plushie has been create. I was just wondering why that was since the artist that drew the dragon redraw had a question on their profile asking the users what needed to be changed/ what could be changed about the dragon. That just told me that it was going to be changed a bit. Eh, I guess not.
0

User not found:

Does anyone have an image of the old dragons that way I can see what is meant by the attitude of the dragon ???
0

varicolored

How can you say that, Looney? Polls mean a lot to users - there was a lot of unpleasant discussion over the fact that the Dragon wasn't polled while plenty of others were. Staff went back to doing polls, things were fine. There were disagreements, but it was a great way for the artists to see and discuss peoples' issues with the proposed revamp.

I think the most important job of a poll is to let users know that their opinions are being heard, which is my main draw to Subeta vs. other petsites. When this didn't happen to the Dragon revamp, it was certainly offensive to many people.
0

minno150

o.0 If you're talking about Longcat, there was a perfectly legitimate reason for that change. The chans really weren't planning on letting up on us over that.
0

minno150

That's alrighty, MissXami. The plushies truly are a huge improvement to the old ones (again, I vote whiskers).
0

User not found:

Ok as for the polls issue... Polls kinda don't mean anything on here.. It is up to the artist, staff and Keith in the end. .... Remember a certain item a few months back that cause so much drama and there was a poll to keep it or not.. Well most users voted keep it and guess what .. it was changed into a whole new item... So yea polls don't mean anything.
0

minno150

My vote has always been since day one of the revamp that the dragon revamp be given whiskers, more scales, and the dark coloring around its eyes. The wings don't even bother me anymore, I just think it could use those few things.
0

MissXami

Minno, I apologize for that Sorry, I should have taken a breath before I said that. You know, the sad thing is, I love these plushies... they are so squishy. But...I dunno :/ The whole revamp thing...
0

minno150

I was only using the word complain because it was the word that's been used. *shrugs* Didn't mean to be offensive or anything, I really am just as disappointed as everyone else that the mentioned rerevamp fell through. As soon as I heard there would be one I went out and bought a dragon elixir so when it finally came I could change Lorek back. Now I hope it's still worth as much as when I bought it.
0

MissXami

Looney XD It wasn't just that. I don't know if you can see it but the WHOLE ATTITUDE of the pet has changed. It's no longer peaceful looking, just generic.
0

User not found:

*shakes head* Hubby just showed me what all the fuss is about... All this fuss is over 2 little things hanging from a dragons mouth area.. Personally I think they look much better without them..
0

MissXami

I'm sorry I just don't appreciate the word, Minno. It seems like we're being labeled the bad guys. We're kind of the underdogs who want their voices heard, not to be called ungrateful or complainers. So sorry about that. My friends says Keith made a good comment on the NC, so I look forward to that Keith
0

prince

IU love the new plushies the artist who revamped these kicks butt. Thank you.
0

minno150

MissXami, for the record, I'm a previous dragon owner who changed her pet because she couldn't stand the revamp. I'm pretty sure that would mean I'm "complaining" too.
0

Draken

maybe the servers can only handle so many people on at once also..these other petsites are a heck of alot bigger then subeta though too...so they will have an enormous amount of servers to handle all the users.
0

AdiGallia

Perhaps it's because the Sheeta, Tigrean, Terracoon and Ontra were drawn by the artists who can handle criticism, all of those were quite liked, with minor problems and they were still polled and slightly edited before the final version was made.

The Dragon however was just thrown at us when it was completely different and all we get is "the changes made were necessary so we didn't poll you" I think all revamps are necessary, otherwise they wouldn't be revamped anyway.

I suggest that the current Dragon with and without whiskers is polled and the best one would stay, as tiny a compromise that is, I think it may help. You say that we can add whiskers, but honestly I think more people like Dragons with whiskers, the Galactic Dragon actually looks a bit like a Dragarth, with whiskers it would be different at least. I think it would be easier for use to edit out whiskers than adding them in.
0

minno150

Aside from the complaints about how art staff handle revamps and discussion of why there should/shouldn't be polls, the majority of those 18 pages were actually dragon revamp related.
0

MissXami

Minno, I like you keep saying we're 'complaining'. I'm offended. If someone changed a pet you loved, you'd 'complain' too. So please dont talk down on us. We have valid points and we have a right to be upset.
0

Draken

maybe the artist of the dragon decided they didnt want whiskers on the dragon anymore..ultimately, the choice is down to them..regardless of polls..a poll doesnt necessarily mean the majority choice is gonna happen.
0

looney lupe girl, why were the sheeta, tigrean, otter, terracoon etc forced to have polls, and had to be approved by users, but not the dragon? ..................... Well I am not staff so you'd have to ask one of them.. ....... Why people do the things they do baffles me as much as the next person.
0

Revel

While there may only be that many users online at one time who says they're the same? Who knows how many different people are signing on and off within that number
0

minno150

LooneyLupeGirl, I'm pretty darn sure the people complaining here now are/were dragon owners. Thus the complaining. Those of us who were are perhaps disappointed because we thought there might be a chance to turn our pets back into dragons after the rerevamp. Those who are are disappointed because now it turns out they kept their pet(s) as dragons for nothing, as the hope that it would improve has officially been dashed.
0

Swirl

No other petsite has only 1% of it's active userbase on at one time.

All I'm saying is, we may have 140,000 accounts, but ACTIVE accounts are probably half of that. If there were only 70,000 active players, then having 1000 on at a time would make much more sense.
0

Draken

ok regardless of the time zone thing..people have jobs, school, set amounts of time they are allowed internet access, there are many many reasons only a thousand or so users can be on at the same time.
0

User not found:

Ok Tiki I understand where you are coming from.. and yes I agree on some note that some of the way things are handled on here and not handled in the best way..... And as for the dragon people.. Like I said earlier my hubby is the biggest dragon freak you will ever meet and he happens to be happy with the way the dragons look .. So I dunno ... I guess certain people just don't like the way certain things look..... Wait I thought this news topic was about the plushies how did everyone get so side tracked
0

Draken

how likely is it though that every single page of those 18 pages was just over the dragon revamp? Id say maybe half of em were only over the dragon....regardless, its done and they arent gonna change it. so Id say just get over it and move on..Im really not trying to be rude(if it seems that way)...and people may spend real money on here, but noone is holding a gun to your head saying you have to..
0

MissXami

looney lupe girl, why were the sheeta, tigrean, otter, terracoon etc forced to have polls, and had to be approved by users, but not the dragon? I don't know, as stated the art is nice and all, but how hard would it have been to add whiskers? That was the biggest complaint of all.
0

Swirl

Again, even with the timezone argument, you're suggesting that less than 1% of users live in the same timezones as each other.

The majority of users are in America, which only has 4 major timezones.

Logical? No.
0

User not found:

not only are users in different timezones, also some only have an allocated amount of time given by parents. meh.
0

minno150

We don't expect everything to have a poll, just the drastic changes and anything that there is a big fuss over. Complaints on the dragon were voiced in the news comments, in the forums, and on NC. I'd think that would qualify as a big fuss. And before anyone says that always happens or something to that extent... the dragon complaints got its own board on NC which spanned atleast 18 pages. I didn't keep track of any complaint boards in the forums, and I don't recall the number of comments the news post got, but 18 pages is a lot for a revamp.
0

MissXami

XD I HIGHLY doubt there are 140,000 people on this site a day. I would think at most, half of that.
0

Swirl

I can complain if I want- I spend real money on this site, I'm a customer, and I don't agree with the services they give in return.

It's called having empathy for those that DO own a Dragon, that HAVE felt betrayed over the last month by the staff.

0

User not found:

Tiki not EVERY revamp ever done has had a poll to go along with it... Not everyone is gonna be happy with every pet revamp thats just part of life... Yes I do complain at certain times but it is always of a pet I have already or one of my fav pet types .. and I am grown up enough to admit it... The artist and staff do the best they can but like I said not everyone is happy 100 percent of the time... Seriously if you don't have the said pet type then why complain about it..
0

Swirl

1200 is 0.8% of the total userbase. Are you saying that no more than 1% of users live in the same timezone anywhere in the world?
0

minno150

Other than time zones, Tiki?
0

Draken

well I personally dont recall reading anywhere that everything done on the site had to have a poll, so users could bash things down by not giving constructive criticism(and yes it has happened before) Ive seen it alot actually.
0

Swirl

Also, re: the fact that we have 140,000 users...

Do you not take into account how many are inactive? If we have 140,000 active users, why is the maximum amount of people on at any given time less than 1200?
0

varicolored

Ah, great, hey Keith! What's the extent of your opinion on all of this?
0

Swirl

Personally, I feel the Dragon revamp was handled very unprofessionally, which is a shame because this site continues to get better each month.

If Keith truly was out of the loop and DNA/Luxe/whoever did the Dragon simply stubbornly made the revamp on their own without consideration of a poll like EVERY other recent revamp.. that lacks class.
0

Keith

And yes. ASk noirraven. if we froze people for not having my opinion...
0

Keith

It wasn't my intention, and I was under the impression we WOULD be making a compromise. I talked to the artist, among others, who said they WOULD be taking into account, and changing it.

Clearly, I'm not as in the loop as I should be.
0

Draken

the thing about what keith said though..is everything can change on a whim..nothing is set in stone except the rules of the site. thats pretty much anywhere you go..granted he mightve said that, BUT during a meeting the choice couldve changed to not do that. *shrug* regardless Ill stand behind the staff on the revamps until I see one that wholeheartedly doesnt do anything for me..but so far everything Ive seen change has been for the better.
0

Luxe

Vari, Keith goes to Neocolours, apparently. Perhaps his inbox there is not full? I'm not entirely sure if/when he reads his profile comments.

You, the users who put forth the arguments, were not willing to settle. Therefore...it is staying as it is.

I don't remember ever seeing a poll asking for opinions. Or a statement in the news asking for feedback on what we would like to see happen. There may have been a statement made in news comments to this effect, but if so not many people would have seen it before it was lost I would think. And the Forums aren't a good way to get messages across either as I and many others very rarely browse there. Without an official statement in the news, how are we supposed to know that you want specific feedback?

There were numerous suggestions and feedback on the news comments from the little I read of them though so I don't understand how that isn't "the userbase not willing to settle."
0

minno150

I personally don't want to edit my pets' images on account of ethics... or something like that. Changing the image would mean that I could practically just make them a special color when they really aren't, but that is against the rules. So paying $10 to make Lorek an angelic dragon would be a major waste of money just so it would say he's an angelic dragon instead of a common one on his page. Otherwise, I'd be in violation of rules (or atleast I'm sure I'd be) and it just wouldn't feel right at all.
0

Personally I am not a Dragon fan but these plushies I find to be VERY cute and well draw.. My hubby is a huge dragon freak and even he is happy with the way they look.

"Not to mention the idea that we'll freeze you for stating a contrary opinion is preposterous. When in the history of Subeta has this happened? Don't you think there'd be a lot more frozen users if it was true?" ...Lol Yep My wife would be one of the first frozen..well then it'd be myself and her since we route out internet Lol. Thats why I like subeta more-so than any other pet site. We are free to voice opinions, and the only thing we get back is a response, xD.
0

varicolored

We certainly will. Do you have a way we can contact him? Does he manage to read his comments? I know his inbox is full, probably from his cute youtube things.
0

Draken

the only way I could see someone who voiced their opinion getting frozen was IF it was so blatantly rude and full of foul language that the staff would just freeze to get such a foul mouth off the site..but in the entire 2+ yrs Ive been on this site, I have never seen nor heard of someone who voiced their opinion getting frozen over it.
0

DNA_558

Again. Why keep repeating yourselves here? Take it up with Keith.
0

minno150

Oh I know staff doesn't freeze on a matter of opinion. I just know people who are overly cautious like that.
0

Sandiego

I love the Nuclear and Dark Matter Dragon Plushie, but I'm still hoping for a re-revamp of the actual Bloodred Dragon :/ I know I could just repaint my Caldera or change his species, but I've had him that way since I bought my first Bloodred Potion ages ago and I don't have the heart to change him after this long.

Quote By "Keith":
Right, which we've said over and over, we're working on fixing the dragon situtation.

We've worked hard (especially on the last revamp, and we plan to do the same thing right now, with this otter) to keep everyone happy with all the revamps that are coming up, or ones that we've done recently.

We're also planning to have the dragon changes done soon, and a poll added for them.

That is word for word what Keith said on Neocolours. He promised us a revamp, it never came. I agree with the person who said it he said it to shut everyone up then hope it would blow over. That may not have been his intention then, but it certainly feels like it now.
0

Draken

I dunno..Ive been debatting on what to make my 10th pet now anyways..I was originally gonna get a dm aerie with a darkwing...but Ive seriously been thinking of either a gy endeavor or a rb/gy/galactic paralix..just so I have both sides of the dragon family covered. when I first got my dragon, I thought it lacked a little muscle tone..and this revamp changed that and I adore it now. I wouldnt change him back now even if I was given the option.
0

DNA_558

Not to mention the idea that we'll freeze you for stating a contrary opinion is preposterous. When in the history of Subeta has this happened? Don't you think there'd be a lot more frozen users if it was true?
0

DNA_558

Well, Sophi..when people dislike something here, they certainly let us know on no uncertain terms, don't they? I think it's safe to say that that's a fair judgement.

And Minno--if the main thing you want on the Dragon is whiskers, why not add them to your own? That's the beauty of Subeta; we allow you to edit your own pet's image however you like and post it accordingly. The default images we provide are not all you are allowed to use to represent your pets, which is something many people either seem to forget, or refuse to take advantage of. And no, it doesn't require your being an artist--if you can't do it yourself, Subeta is chock full of users who would be happy to help you with that.

I most certainly have to agree with this one.
0

Sophiten

I thought that's what polls were for, Luxe. They are there for people who don't like to speak up in comments give their opinion. If I remember correctly the dragon never got a poll, so it's not surprising all of this fuss has continued.
0

Neori

Bloodred, nuclear, and darkmatter!
Cool, four more plushies for me to collect! xD
0

Luxe

Thank you, DrakenLord. I am not saying I do not value their opinions and input on our art. I can be seen quite often frequenting their forums. But it seems to me, after looking at the math, that it would be a step backwards in terms of pleasing the majority of users, to cater to such a small group. It's a hard realization that both DNA and I have come to, along with the rest of the Creative Department.
0

minno150

I think some of that percentage of users who aren't complaining might A. not have a dragon and so are applying that "just won't get one" attitude, B. just got rid of theirs and left it at that, or C. are afraid to say anything because they're convinced it'll get them frozen.
0

Draken

personally there has been very little revamp wise that Ive been disappointed in. I have loved the fact that the artwork is becoming better and better..

ah thats cool dna..cant wait to see them

While this is true, staff cannot be responsible for their choice to not speak up. If it bothered them enough, they'd make it clear, don't you think? We can't sMail everyone individually to gather feedback.
0

azazel

I really love the new plushies that have been coming out, but they look more like minions and not plushies. I think it's because they are lacking the stitching that the old version of the plushies had. Either way, they are cute and the art is great. =)
0

Sophiten

Just because people AREN'T saying anything doesn't mean they like it, I'd just like to point that out. I also have to say that Keith shouldn't have said anything if it was still up in the air. It makes it seems like he only said it to get people to shut up and hoped it would blow over.
0

User not found:

So all-in-all I only have 2 more plushies to gather? Niice I thought darkmatter wasn't being classified as "new" xD. I searched the shop search in every color I didnt have. Lol Woohoo less=more in my case (more sp not spent xD) .
0

minno150

But these are subeta pets, not real life animals/mythical creatures. Wouldn't it be more interesting to add a creative perk like whiskers onto a western dragon? Why should it be bound to that generalization anyway? Why can't it just be special like that?
0

DNA_558

The beanbags will be following suit very shortly, yes. I was tempted to do them today too, but I've done a lot already. XD
0

Luxe

The powers that be of the Creative Department determined that the Dragon needed an attitude change to distinguish it from the other solemn, quiet dragon pets on site. There was no poll because we knew the change that we deemed necessary would not be well-received, but it was necessary nonetheless.

A few of you want to see numbers, and I think it bears saying that right now on Subeta we have almost 138,000 users. Neocolours users maybe makes up 150 of those, and that's being generous. If even 40 of those are regular posters, I will be amazed. As much as I like some of them, they don't even represent 0.11% of our userbase, and yet we are expected to fall over ourselves trying to please them, simply on the premise that they are more vocal.

It seems to me that the 99.89% of our users who aren't complaining are happy with our work (even if they aren't as vocal with praise as NC is with critiques), and those are the users we need to please.

dna- I had a feeling that mightve been the color, since there wasnt one like that in the original set *pokes gallery* has all but the newest ones...any ideas on the beanbags getting an overhaul, or can you not say? lol
0

Draken

the thing with whiskers though, is this..western dragons(which the dragon pet is apparently based off of) did NOT have whiskers.. the eastern dragon(paralix) is the only dragon to ever have whiskers, granted that could be wrong, but I read alot about mythology and what not..so I dont believe it is.

DNA_558

I suppose I can tell. Third one is marsh. (and I almost put it in the news post, but I really wanted to show off the BR, DM, and Nuclear..but it is an awful lot of black, isn't it?)
0

Draken

personally Ive had a dragon pet since around day one of my joining the site..I liked the old one, but I like the new version better..same with the plushies the new version of the plushie is alot better. the one thing I dont know is whats the 3rd color mentioned in the news post? thats normal, bloodred, nuclear and darkmatter..normal and bloodred already existed..whats this 3rd mystery color? lol
0

Revel

I've seen the old versions to and they were nice but I love the re-vamped ones so much more. They did have a great style and personality that changed but it didn't change into something bleak, it was replaced by a different but equal personality.

Admittably, the new plushies -are- better than the old ones. I think they'd be better with whiskers, though.

sweetlily_3

I don't ever comment on stuff in the news. But i just wanted to say that in my opinion i actually love the look of these new dragon plushies much more then the old version. So great job to the artist.

I personally am glad the dragon got its well-deserved revamp. Yes I Originally Chose The Dragon species on this site when I first began playing. Yes I adored them, But all in all the Revamp Made my day. I started this site owning a dragon and I'll keep owning them. If say the staff did give in to yet Another revamp..the staff would Always have to rethink re-draw on every little detail. Ofcoarse opinions are going to be voiced, But please don't drag every "previous dragon owner" into them .

I know a lot of people were asking for the whiskers back. Some didn't like the wings, and some wanted more scales (I wanted the dark coloring around the eyes, I really liked the dark coloring around the eyes) but most were complaining about whiskers.

TheLoneTiel

I really dislike the "Some of you were talking, so everyone has to stay after class." attitude I see... But, I hate to discuss too deeply in comments, where things are so transitory. Is there an ongoing forum discussion? (I can never navigate around the forums myself... Takes too long to load and no back button...)

But, in short, yeah DNA, it stinks that some people can be insensitive and unreasonable. But I remember the revamp decently, and I disagree with you on the "minority" factor and the fact that no one at all was helpful. If you expected 100% approval/disapproval/ or agreement on a reasonable change... You said so yourself, such can never happen.
0

DNA_558

Neocolors is a minority. Even if every single member on that forum protested something..it would still not even begin to scratch the surface of Subeta's entire membership.
And if you can't take my word of what Keith has told me--the head of this department--then there is nothing else I can say but go ahead and take it up with Keith. I assure you that it will not be changing anything, however, as this revamp is final.
0

painesgrey

what i don't understand is why the dragon seemed to be the exception to the recent trend of revamp feedback polls followed by revamps that mirror the users' comments and critiques.

i understand that not everyone likes the new tigrean, terracoon, or velosotor - but none of the drama surrounded them that has surrounded the dragon revamp. i believe this is largely due to the fact that the essence of these pets were kept intact and a great deal of effort was put forth by the artists to maintain their character. taking a stance saying, "like it or leave it," isn't going to change the fact that the dragon revamp was done, largely, against the will of the populace who was given no voice in the matter. keith stated we would be granted a compromise. i see no compromise in stating "it is staying as it is."

varicolored

There was no poll, how do you know your numbers were completely accurate?

If you're going to tout minority/majority, we might as well see some official numbers, other than a general "hundreds and thousands".

If I recall correctly, I know at least NC had plenty of feedback on the issue (of course, not on the site directly and that probably won't count, but I know many staff who lurk there regardless), including great tips as simple as "bring the whiskers back." A few members even drew great examples of what a compromise might look like. Once Keith suggested a compromise re-revamp would happen (and we kept up with him and he continuously said it was in the works), we were satisfied and very hopeful staff would come up with a great one. Like I said, it just sucks that we weren't listened to in the slightest, even though we were assured we definitely were.

DNA_558

Unfortunately, Vari--you're wrong. A minority -did-. Regardless of how vocal they were, we're talking hundreds--if not thousands-- of people in favor, as opposed to a handful of people loudly protesting, which happens with almost everything we change.

And unfortunately, majority gets the vote at the end of the day.

In addition--you have no idea of what has gone on behind the scenes concerning this dragon. We have yet to hear anything other than "bring the old one back", which is an argument we get with every revamp we ever put through, and it is simply not going to happen. We were willing to compromise, And I -personally- tried asking for opinions on what needed work. You, the users who put forth the arguments, were not willing to settle. Therefore...it is staying as it is.

I *love* the new design personally, it sets apart the paralix as a truly eastern versus the dragon thats a truly western breed.

Sheesh, some folks are too sensitive. xD

The "Don't get a Dragon" stance really has little bearing here. People who already HAD a Dragon got screwed over. The Dragon is a COMPLETLY different pet in looks and feel then the old one, the one people created because they liked at the time.

When the Angelic Dragon is revamped to more resemble this new version, I'm out a pet and an expensive paint job. I can't say 100% that I will hate it, but going by all I've seen of the Dragon art so far, its pretty much guranteed.

And, yes, Keith stated clearly that they were going to be working on a compromise. They didn't know when it was going to be done, but he said they were going to do one.
0

CroDevil

They are amazingly cute! *looks at Dragon plushie*
0

minno150

I think a lot of the drama over the dragon went down because of the "considered" compromise...
0

varicolored

Dokuja - I don't think you realize that the people who are the most offended by this situation are ones who already own Dragons, not would-be owners.

A *minority* didn't dislike it. If I remember correctly, there were TONS of people who objected to the new attitude of the new dragon (that wasn't polled at all). Since that drama went down, you guys have been doing fantastically at listening to user feedback and doing polls for new redraws. I'm just extremely, extremely sad that our compromise Dragon - which I had high hopes for - to be suddenly dismissed and staff go, "lol sorry, but we don't want to."
0

topizots

Very nice plushies! I like them!

minno150

Well, I'd say for some of us the difficult part was having to change a pet we loved into something else. I know I wasn't too happy about having to pick another pet to turn Lorek into. I can't say I'm entirely fond of the choice I had to make either, but I could not keep him as a dragon.
0

Lor

no varicolored, Keith said he's consider a compromise. There was no promise of a change.
I don't like it just as much as you, but we HAVE to deal with it. Whatever they say goes.
0

DNA_558

As I've said a thousand times, we unfortunately can't please everyone (and I say this sincerely--if anyone wanted to make -everybody- happy it's me, but I'm learning to live with the fact that It Just Isn't Possible).
Obviously some people will dislike the new version just because they liked the old one.
However, we succeded at what we were aiming for with the revamp. Why on Earth would we change it -again-, completely, because a minority dislikes it? Things don't work like that.
0

Dokuja

I really struggle to see what's so difficult about simply... not getting a pet if you don't like it. Why does everyone have to like every pet in order for it to be acceptable to them?

The Dragon was revamped. Feedback was mixed, and a further revamp was considered. It didn't happen. That's life, folks - you won't get what you want all the time. The Dragon has since soared in popularity, just looking at the pet stats - someone obviously does like them.
0

varicolored

But we were promised - by Keith himself - that we would get a re-revamp. I just find it disappointing that we would all find out that this hope was jerked away from the old-dragon-fans by some sort of stabbing newspost of "these things are here to stay, get over it."

DNA, I'm very sad to hear that. I hate the new dragon (I never had or cared for them before, I simply strongly dislike the shading, the pose, and the message behind the complete change in personality) Last I heard was from Keith that a compromise was still being reached, but with these plushies... I guess that is out the window. Meh. Very disapointing.
0

DNA_558

If you don't like it, don't get a dragon. That simple.
If you take it as a "jab" at you that we're continuing on with something we've made obvious is here to stay, then that is your problem and your problem alone.
You can either sit and take offense at something that has nothing to do with you personally, or go "ah well, I don't like it/it's not for me" and get on with your life.

Honestly? The only thing crappy here is your attitude.
0

varicolored

This ... sucks. Another jab at us for disliking the crappy dragon revamp that we were promised would be re-revamped into something more acceptable.
