There's something a bit off and almost unnatural in the darkonite's pose...but other than that I LOVE THEM ALL. The color scheme...the markings and design. I can't imagine how hard it must be to shade some of the 'ice' bits. But it looks utterly beautiful. The coloring and shading is amazing too. Thanks for working so hard on these great pets! :3

As for outlines, I personally like the "inbetween" outlines most pets have. It's a nice mix, not too thick, but thick enough that it looks like a fantasy animal. <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

Oh, to the people who think I rated the Darkonite and Escalade badly because they were an 'unpopular' and 'unlikable' species, are terribly wrong. I don't care about popularity, I like what I like. And I had already stated in the beginning that I was looking forward to the Glacier Darkonite and Escalade and is why I was sad about the way they ended up turning out. I never once said they were stupid, ugly, or OMG! I HATE THEM!!!!eleven! I stated what I found what I thought was wrong and stated it as such and in a kindly manner.<p>

On another note: I love these, esp the darkonite, I look forward to seeing more. ^.^ Personally, I like thinner lineart seems to be able to allow more creativity and make the image look less stiff. Thicker lineart usually seems more basic, like for 'common' colors. Although.... another nifty thing is to have some parts thicker and some thinner to where you can barely see the lineart, might be good with this color as it looks ...'whispy' for lack of better term. Thats just a thought though, but it always looked unique to me...^^

I generally don't like thick line art either, but you NEED to thicken the lines if you want to blend the colors together properly, otherwise it looks like you drew it in grey lead, then went over in color. Looks stupid.

I still am totally disappointed with the laziness in the Mortiking, who has a boring pose almost identical to common pose. It looks like it's smoking rather then breathing a wisp, and smoking is nothing to be promoted. Ew. O-o From real life, I don't ever remember breath from the cold going down and curving around and looking like like cigar smoke that's traveling up. I do like the thin lines, the are better, and harder rather then thick lazy lines.

I hate thick line art. With any type of art, it doesn't matter the artist. Thick line art is nasty in my opinion. The thinner it is, i think the better. Thick line art is for lazy people, in my opinion. Thin line art takes time and accuracy. i absolutely LOVE the glacier pets because of that. Not to mention their designs are gorgeous and everything. Glacier pets = best out of them all. The line art is absolutely beautiful and i Love it, the coloring is amazing, the designs are amazing, and i love the frozen/icy effect on each one. Well, if you like the thinner line art, then you're probably going to be very disappointed with upcoming revamps, since most of the old thin line art is getting thrown in the crapper.

I don't agree that so-called consistent artwork looks better or more professional. Actually, I'm not sure that going for a professional look on a site like subeta would be a good thing. Well-drawn art, yes... but professional brings something different to mind for me. Maybe some people like the thicker lines and some people like the thinner lines... if you really hate something you can always get someone from the Imagination board to tweak it for you for your own profile picture <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>
I hate the inconsistencies with the lineart. That very thin lineart always really bothers me, and makes me think the quality isn't as good as the thicker lined pets. Most of the pets have thicker lines, so it just doesn't really work in my opinion.

I love Mortikings, and while this one is apathetic, it looks softer, cuter, and less violent. I'd make Shunkaku one if I didn't have her personality planned out as a GY.

I think the reason less people like these is because they aren't as popular as say, the kumos, tigrean, or montre. Even if the artwork were perfect, people would still critique/complain, etc, because everyone's different and is entitled to their own opinion. I personally don't like these particular species, but I think they look very nice. ^^ Next time, I suggest releasing popular pets along with the less common ones, therefore creating a mix of what most people really want and what a few people with the other pets want. <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

I've just read the people below (should have read them first I suppose)....I presumed that all the glacial artwork was done in advance of the release and then released in batches to create suspense....not drawn on the demand of users....perhaps an artist could clear up this point?

I like the darkonite best of the three. I love the half-lidded eyes, and the the slightly raised right front paw. I don't really like the thick ice horns, but that's more a matter of personal taste and not the quality of the art, per se. I think the quality of the darkonite is very good. I can't really say much about the other two because I am not a fan of those species and so I'm not a very good judge of them.I don't know why people are complaining about lack of uniformity. Why would we want all the pets to look alike? Personally I enjoy the different styles. If I want cookie-cutter pets that all look alike, I know of another site where I can get them o_0. One of the best things about subeta is the individuality and creativity in the art department.
People like me are to blame for the rush job. We are impatient and they get sick of hearing us. I try to keep my mouth shut, but sometimes I am a idiot. But they should have actually waited to release this news until more were drawn. But that is just my opinion. STaff don't take offense please.

How many artist did these? It seems there were atleast three or maybe just 1 who took breaks in between sittings? I love the Darkonite's glass or ice head with the crack. It makes it special.
I'm kinda of hoping the Celi or Sage don't get released for awhile. Take your time on them please, artists. ^^
Outside of the slightly heavy line on the Escalade, I think they all look nice, all 10 released so far, and I'm waiting with bated breath for a Glacier Wyllop (Nuclear Wyllop too, for that matter).

I love how you can actually tell that the Darkonite has hooves on it's back feet. It's drawn very nicely! And I love the Mortiking, too! The escalade is sexy (lol, what?) but it's lines are too thick.

You've got pet revamps that look almost lifelike and then you've got pets that look opposite of that. What happened to the consistent style Subeta once had?
Now, don't get me wrong. The artwork's been very nice and I love how these Glacial pets have that moody, sassy air to them.
What bothers me is that the art's no longer of consistency. The Escalade's lineart isn't too thrilling, for one. To me, the lines look thick and blurry. Kind of a disappointment from the previous Escaldades, which looked splendid. pokes her Bloodred one The Darkonite seems to be on the opposite side of the spectrum, with it's lineart being a bit too thin for my taste.
From what I'm seeing, I get the feeling that the artists are being slightly overused.
Sometimes I do feel it's more about meeting the quota instead of having the artist's take their own time. (Yes, I know about the quotas, and I know their importance. All I'm saying is that sometimes the fear of not meeting the quota and losing their job as Artist overrides the potential and true quality the artist can bring out) You know, quantity over quality isn't always a good thing. I liked it better when I saw two pets that I was impressed with than seeing all these pets, released in batches, and not having much to say without making myself sound horrible. (I can differentiate bewteen the styles, and I'm not saying that before this batch the Artists were forced to whip up a new set of pets within 12 hours. No. That's not what I'm trying to bring out. I HIGHLY doubt that's how the Art Department runs) All I'm trying to say is that the philosophy of 'quantity over quality' isn't going to shape the fate of this site. 'Quality of quanity' WILL. I understand the jump in users. I understand the urge to release more things so people will have the desire to play Subeta longer. I just wish that everything didn't look like it was quickly whipped up.
I don't want to get the daunting image of seeing the artists feel so rushed and hurried. I'm not saying that "Oh, Subeta should go back to it's old days." No. I've seen this site grow. And I encourage it's growth every last bit. Along with growth comes change. Maybe I'm just disappointed about the recent changes. I don't know, there's been many things that have made me feel unsure about things. No, I'm not a Subeta veteran. I don't think being here for almost two years has reached such a level. Nonetheless, I've been here long enough to see change. That's what matters.
I'm just throwing in my input. I know I sounded a /bit/ harsh and un-constructive, but I know this is a whole LOT better than saying "LOL these pets suck." These artists have potential and I know it. That's why they were hired. Now I need to see that potential brought out. (You know, pressure does things to you, and I know it really gets to the artistic mind)

Preeeetty good, but not nearly as much as the first few. The Sheeta, Kumos, Mortiking, Kerubi, Montre, Telenine, and Tigrean look fantastic. I think you guys are (maybe) rushing it a little, because the potion is in such great demand. Take your time, we're patient. =3

I like how you can see the brain through the ice on the Darkonite and...that's about it. : D I dunno, there is yet to be a pet I actually own that comes in this color and my Glacier Potion has been rotting in my Manchu's treasures. XD So here's hoping that there's more pets in this color coming soon.

I agree with them looking kinda rushed. So far the Kumos is the only one that really seems like it got a lot of attention. I kinda wish the linework was more uniform between them all, though.

The mortiking and the escalade look pretty good, but once again, there is one that just doesn't seem up to standards. The darkonite has a rather odd look on it's face. Something had been seeming out of place with the heads of certain pets resently. o-O; No offence to anyone at all, I'm just a bit particular, I suppose. XD;

I duuno, the mortiking is rather nice <img src=http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> The lineart is clean and I normally don't like mortikings, but this one is okay. I was interested in seeing the escalade, but the lineart is a little too thick for my tastes :/ Darkonite scares me, but in a good way XD The art for all of these are very nice.

I LOVE that Mortiking. The expression on its face is awesome, and the art is amazing. If I didn't love my Bloodred Mortiking so much the way he is already, I would totally morph him into that.

Mortiking: Lovely, I like it a lot, and the thin lines make it look more...detailed (as someone mentioned earlier).
