Oh, they're beautiful! 8D Keshi did a wonderful job on the Keeto, despite the arguments.... While the old one was cute and charming, the anatomy was way off. There was no belly, the leg was connected to its shoulder. It had three legs. The wings looked like they weren't the keetos, like a ghost behind it, they didn't even look connected. The head was way to big. It looked nothing like a Keeto. And the little shading there was was nearly invisible. But the new one has wonderful shading and colouring, the anatomy errors were fixed, and it's beautiful. I honestly don't see why some people have a problem with it, although I think it's mainly the smile and eyes. And the ear is kinda strange, it has no border. However, the big problems were fixed, and the re-vamp is lovely. As for the Kanis, I really like the fire, and the colouring is cool, and I also love the expression. <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif" border="0" /> Kudos to the artists, I love them! 8D I want both of them. <3

Well it's not that it never happened before with items. As far as I know the Halovil was created because people thought the revamp was nothing like the original and the Emancipate was revamped twice because the first revamp wasn't so popular and now look at it, it's so much prettier than the original. <br />

I wouldn't say it's the style. The angelic keeto, in my opinion, looks a lot like the graveyard one. They have the same thin body and small head. And many people here said that they loved it, including me (One of my pets actually used to be a GK before I changed him). <br />
Also I don't think it's fair to say people don't like the new style, personally I think the new keeto is perfect and consistent with the other keetos that I love. It's just that I like the old one better despite its flows :/<br />

So this is all just a critique/criticism of the style, which, if you look at both the Glacier and Reborn Keetos, is pretty consistent with the Keeto look. <br />
The muzzle is no wider than the common Keeto, and the legs are no more stumpier than the common or Glacier Keetos. The only leg that is going to taper here is the one held in the air, and if you compare it to the commons you'd see that it is pretty-near identical.<br />
The head is smaller because now it matches proportion-wise, and the eyes are also now in proportion. The old AK's eyes were taking up half its brain-space, really. <br />
I see no reason as to why the mane can't be fluffy, considering both the glacier and chibi Keeto's mane's are fluffier than the common Keeto's.<br />
If you're looking at colors, you might want to compare the AK to the newer-created Angelic pets. The Manchu, Popoko, Archan, Aeanoid all have very dynamic colors and shading, and even though the APopoko is pale, it is nowhere near as flat as the older Angelics, old AK included. I'm sure that when other Angelics get revamped, there will be a trend to move them into a deeper color scheme, making them more dynamic. I mean, the new AK fits in perfect with the newest Angelics, its the old Angelics that are looking a but dull.<br />
You said before that this is a graphics based site, and that its graphics should be the best possible. I suggest heading on over to subetahq and checking out the Angelic page, and seeing just what pets on there look the most dynamic.<br />

I mean, I don't know, maybe some people were expecting it wouldn't. Maybe they weren't expecting that in adding a fourth leg, the artist would then go on to consider the weight of the animal, how that weight would be distributed, how it would then sit on the ground correctly. Maybe they thought the artist would just add the leg and forget about the fact that in this 3/4 view the hips are angled slightly, that in the crouch the Keeto is in, the paws would be touching the ground at different angles, that the back must curve a certain way, and the line defining the hip as well. Maybe they thought that when adding the fourth leg the artist won't take into account the line of the belly that becomes visible. <br />

I wasn't condoning calling <i>any</i> artist's work horrible. Old or new. They do have feelings and they don't appreciate having the art they worked hard on labeled as "horrible" or "hurt-my-eyes-to-look-at." Constructive criticism is one thing; insults are another. At least I give valid reasons and am civil, if blunt, when I criticize.<br />

The old Angelic Keeto wasn't close to the Keeto physique even Before the Common Keeto was touched up.<br />

I don't think we said the old Angelic Keeto was OMG HORRIBULZ, but it wasn't a keeto. it was a... subspecies that was genetically transformed by Ian or some other mad scientist.<br />

No, just because something is over a year old doesn't mean it needs a revamp. New doesn't always equate to improved, and remaking every graphic on the site every year would be a waste of valuable time anyway. What matters is the art's quality, not its age. I personally LOVE the revamp on the Keeto, looks so much better now, I really don't see what people are talking about in terms of loosing it's charm or whatever, it's the same pose, same expression really in my opinion, just with updated lineart that makes it LOOK like the current Keeto species.<br />

The angelic keeto is veeeery nice but man that reborn kanis is to die for! I'm in love with him! Kudos to the artists. Neither of these pets were ever on my favorites list but I may just have to go out now and get me a reborn kanis!

I don't mind the revamped Keeto... the eyebrows are a tad disconcerting, but otherwise it's decent. Don't really know /why/ the old Keeto needed a change, though...
Concerning the Keeto: I don't say the art isn't actually better than before; I admit that my judgement of that aspect is (currently) not an objective one. But: I think many of us agree that the expression of the pet changed completely, and that's what bugs most people.<br />

The thing about the revamps I like is that they have a fresher look. Both have more life in them unlike the older pets before. Good work Keshi and Rah! I just wish I could get more pet slots though. XD

I love the way the mouth is moved over in Saga's image. It's way, way better. I preferred my keeto the way he was, but if the mouth was moved over, I would simply adore it. X:

I think you best guess for what's going to be revamped eventually is to spot the art that's been around for long (at least 1 year, I guess). Old art is more subject to revamp. The older it is, the more chances you have for it to be revamped.<br />

There does seem to be a lot of dissent around the Keeto, which quite honestly surprises me. The art on the new one I find quite attractive and I love how muted the colors are. The pose is pretty much the exact same as the old, just with the other foot thrown in so it doesn't look three-legged. <br />

I'd honestly be interested in seeing a count of how many people prefer the old Keeto over the new, and vice versa. I don't have the time to go through this post and the forum and count heads, but it's really starting to look like a greater number of people preferred the old one.<br />

I love the Reborn Kanis. But the Keeto... since I joined this site a year ago, I had always wanted an Angelic Keeto. Just recently I adopted my Zodiaca and got the potion for her. The art on the Keeto is beautiful and everything, but I really dislike the new look of it. It really, really didn't need to be changed. There should have been a poll, at least. I really really don't like it. And I'm not just going to "change my pet" anyway :/

The Kanis is a neat change in pose and tone for that pet. Extremely shiny, but I'm loving it - especially those flames.<br />

Yes, there have been polls where user critiques were taken into account, but only a few, and only the ones the artists wanted to listen to. I restate: it'snot about the revamp in general. we appreciate the art updates (at least I do) when it comes to pose and shading, he major point was actually that people feel their pets have a certain "character" and are afraid of them changing (majorly) when they get revamped. nobody is trying to demotivate the artists or willfully trying to despirit them, and it's obvious you can't make everybody happy :/ but it would be nice if you could consider our side too and see that even if some of the old art may be outdated, we often adopted our pets because we felt they had a special "something" to go with them which often gets lost in the updates. so even if it's easy to say "bah we can't make everyone happy anyway", please don't stop caring or get rid of the polls, we DO appreciate them and I think until now they have always been an improvement. :3
I'm not much of a fan of the Angelic, but the Reborn I like. Maybe it's because the Angelic resembles a pose used in the past or something, I dunno. Nice job, to the artist.

I was speaking of revamps in general, not just the Angelic Keeto. I know special colors don't get polls, and I wasn't asking for one. It was a comment on all the revamps that happen here, polled or otherwise. Personally I think the new Angelic Keeto looks wonderful! Good job to who ever the artist was! It matches the Common Keeto more with out losing the wonderful pose. I think it looks more serene and the wings are finally don't look flat anymore.

The artists are there to do their job they get the money for, they're neither here to please you nor to that we care about their feelings. And you can't be a Subeta-artist while caring about the users feelings, because you'll always annoy owners with every revamp and make them sad, just because of the different tastes. I never got why comments are enabled for revamp-news, once released they don't get changed anymore soon.

Because as an artist myself, I know sometimes, spite having years of experience, there are times you do a little mistake they may be so easy to fix, and to open to hear it and actually do something about it is a great quality to an artist, and it's a way to learn as well. =3<br />
I would get sad if comments were to be shut off (though I could understand it) because there is SO much critical and non constructive comments being made. So what I'm trying to say is that I just want to make sure that support for all your work is herd as well! x3

I'm going to back Rah up on that one- When you voted for the species revamp, you essentially decided you were okay for the other special pose colours to resemble the commonpose pet. Individual pets have never been polled, at least for as long as I've been here.<br />

cries my keeto ;_; why did you have to change them? Akelus was perfect, he was my first angel pet. and now i don't like him at all... there are other angel pets that need revamps, but the keeto was perfect..... sorry i don't want to be rude i'm just really disappointed now...

I adopted my keeto for example because it had a certain "character" to me and if that gets changed, I just feel it's..a different pet, and not my original anymore, even though the shadings and poses look a lot better. I'm sure many other subetians feel the same way, especially those who use their pets for RPing...

Sigh...I dont like the angelic keeto change. The attitude and the face are so different...I mean, the art is great, but its just not the same anymore. Ill have buy another angelic potion now to switch species. Im sorry, I dont like complaining. The art really is good.

I wish the Keeto would have kept the little sneer and the ICY BLUE eyes; now they're just this falt, plain blue that doesn't stand out. I also prefer the sharpness of the old, the new seems a bit softer as far as the shading/highlighting goes, which seems to be becoming more common as Subeta's art progresses. I like the aura in the new one.<br />

I think they both look amazing. o__o The old Kanis really needed an update (and had the random color palette strip on it! XD).<br />And the Keeto finally has four legs! The poor thing was missing one of its hind legs in the other version. XD It seems to just be a reline of the old one, so I have no complaints. The eyes are really pretty. ^^

T_T <br /> The keeto (while VERY well drawn) has an entirely different personality to me now. It is much less intelligent and mysterious, in my opinion. Um. While there's certainly nothing wrong with the new angelic keeto, the art is nice, I liked Buffy the way she was :/ But that's OK since I use altered images for my pets anyway, I'll just keep the one I have <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" /> This at least gives me a new pose to play with. I don't get how the Keeto is shiny. It's light colored; but it's an Angelic pet. And the Keeto species itself is stumpy/anime-ish... this just seems to be keeping the essence of the species, which is good.<br />
To me, it has changed only a little bit, and for the better. (seriously, it's pretty much a re-shading/fattening. The old one was... scruffy?)

The kanis is pretty, although the flames look sort of odd over its paws. The keeto I don't really like, it's like its head is too small or something, and also the left paw is kind of weird.
The fluff doesn't hide the ear completely though, so there still should be some of the border showing through since the border on that one side is visible all the way to the tip pretty much [on the regular keetos]. And the head is facing more to the right of the picture than the regular ones (just barely, admittedly), so technically we should be able to see more of the border (it would look thicker). Though I'm not concerned with how much of a border is showing; I probably would even be happy without the border if there was shading to make it look concave rather than flat/convex.

The Keeto is okay-ish. Old art did not need revamp, and the raised paw looks unnaturally twisted.. or cut off.. or eaten by leprosy or some sort.
They're....... Shiny? o-o'; I don't really like the Kanis. I'll give it that it needed the revamp, but it all seems...... superimposed, almost as if somone cut the fire and pasted it over the Kanis, sort of like under the chin. It looks quite furless to me, save for the cheeks, and I don't like how the flames go down on it's chest.... it looks more...... anime punk than regal reborn to me.... And shiny. Very, very shiny. <br /> The Keeto is very shiny, too.... and stumpy, as someone else mentioned. I like the improovement on the head fluff, but it's again, anime-ish to me, and I just...... Those wings look like an afterthought. I'm no God at drawing wings myself, but they look like the toy wings you can buy at a costume store, since real wings do not taper like that. And, once again, it is only shiny where it has to be and not where it should be, like along th e rest of the body instead of just specific parts; IE: Tail, Chest, Legs in compaired to the back, the hind legs and the stomach... Also, it looks like it is just in the middle of sitting down or something. I always disliked the posing of the old keeto, and I dislike it on this one. The chest, too, doesn't look properly connected to the stomach.<br />With a bit more work, I'd probably want one. Great attempt at a revamp, it just fell short of expectations.
Well... now that I've been looking at the Keeto... I like the aurora a lot more on the new one? :/

To add to Takkeh's comment - the <i>whole body</i> looks stumpy, actually, but especially the raised paw. That was one thing I loved about the old version - it just flowed beautifully, which suited the Angelic color. This one looks far harsher in comparison. I really like the kanis, but I didn't think the keeto needed a revamp. Of course it's lovely, but I thought the old one looked more serene and angelic in its expression.<br />

The Reborn Kanis is definitely an improvement but I liked the old Angelic Keeto better D; It seams like all the revamped pets are loosing there cutesy style and getting 'thicker' everything which makes them look weird and just overall blah D; I don`t want to insult anyone as an artist myself, but I just had to say it... I`m sure many people will enjoy these revamps though =]

Beautiful... I'm happy that the angelic keeto is so close to the original (though I still would have loved to have saved the image of the angelic one, just because I liked it as well), job well done. x3 I love it. The Kanis is an improvement, too... The fire is so awesome. xD
Not that this revamped version of the Angelic Keeto isn't beautiful, but I personally didn't think the old one needed anything done to it. It was gorgeous before-one of my favorites actually. I personally think there's a lot of other pets that need revamping more then that one. . which is maybe obvious by the fact that this new keeto didn't change that much in appearance.
I really love the kanis but the keeto's smiles kinda funky who drew these they look very nice
I don't know, something just seems a bit harsher on the Keeto to me. And the eye makes me think it's on one hell of a sugar rush. xP
The new Angelic Keeto looks much more masculine than the old one. It's all in the face. The head is smaller, the bridge of the nose is broader, and the way the head is cocked now makes it look more like a cocky male creature than the sweeter feminine look it once had. It's nice, but it seems like it's had a sex change just by fiddling with the facial expression.
They're both lovely, aside from that broken smile on the keeto. I know it's a style, but it's never really worked for me in Subeta art.

I really like the reborn kanis, not too fond of the angelic keeto though <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> good job to the artists of course though.
Nice Kanis! I'm glad to see a revamp. The fire is nice, lineart is perfect, and anatomy looks consistent with other Kanis'. However, the right cheek ( our right ) is shaded in such a way that it looks artificial due to highlights going along the shading. The same thing happened with the back foot on our left. It looks square. I also would have shaded the back thigh differently, but I'll stop now...
Nevermind, actually. I just went and had a look at the old one. This one's a bit of an improvement, but it's way too smooth.
as a Angelic Keeto owner, it will take some getting use to, but i think ill like it <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> looks a little more artsy and real, which is good. also a nice darker tone <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />
I kinda miss the Keeto's face.. This one looks less excited and more laid-back. But otherwise it's a great improvement on both. :'D

Wow, nice job here. o: My only qualm is for the Keeto, since it's head, at least for me, seems to be a bit on the small side. And for the Kanis, I simply LOVE the highlights near the fire-y areas. <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_heart.gif" border="0" /> Great job there.
