After you give it to your pet, click your active pet's name up in the top right corner of the page. Scroll down until you see the minion, then click its picture. The event should be on that page.

Give an Ovlibion to your pet and then view the minion (like in the minion name change thing). Buy an Ovlibion fast, they're flying out of shops.
