Well, this means I get to completely change Samalander species and Theme. I just can't have a Malticorn that looks the way it does. -shrugs- Oh well, whats done is done. What can I do?

Ohmygawd, I love the Malticorn now. o__o My Kurai looks so wicked. ♥ I was actually pretty worried about this revamp, but I'm really, really happy with the outcome. 8D Unless Nightmare blows me away, he'll be staying Graveyard. I'm so glad the double horns were kept, as well as that evil grin. It's nice that the guts aren't hanging out all over, too, I was dreading the possibility of that. x: I LOVE YOU, RAH and so does my Malti. ♥

I'll toss one more comment in here. I think they should revamp the bloodred malticorn and use the pose they had in the old graveyard one. That would be totally awesome.

Imho, the revamp for the GY malticorn looks a lot like Murdoc from Gorillaz. I guess I was hoping the revamp would look ... more horrific and awesome like the GY chai, kora and manchu. I mean, it's horrific, but in a different sort of way. It's.. how do you say.. Like Ballistic compared to Mission Impossible. It's the same kind of movie, but it went so off the mark that it just plunged off into the deep blue yonder.
However, the GY chelon is amazing. It's kind of got that ironic awesome you see with the GY chai, GY mallarchy and the GY aeanoid. The poached chelon gems rock, the bone showing, the worm and the kelp touches are fantastic. Plus, the pop plastic rings and the fishnet? Love it.

Like some people mentioned before, I prefer the old malticorn pose and the hooves don't look cloven to me. I'm also a little confused as to why it sprouted another horn. I mean, it still looks great on its own, but comparatively, I think it can be even better.

The malticorn looks ok but it looks a bit to rough-and-tough-fighter and not so much an i'm-a-zombie-run-in-fear. i would kind of like more rotting on the malticorn so it doesn't look so much like a pet whose got in a few good fights. i mean just comparing the chelon to the malticorn revamp the chelon is more rotted and dead looking and it makes it look really good. i would like to see a bit more rotting and exposed flesh you know the stuff that really screams ZOMBIE!!! as soon as you see it. i do really love that chelon update! nice job artists!

Personally I adore the art (Nix the hooves.. but that's just a preference) however, I can see where both parties are coming from.
For the peeple, it's changed alot. It's no longer the pet they paid for, yes it has likenesses.. but it isn't that pet they paid for.
However, on the same coin different side the other wasn't consistant in the slightest to the GY pets. The color was off, the anatomy was wonk (That back leg that looked broke always confused me) not to mention outside of the greenish color it looked nothing like a GY Pet. But it still isn't the pet the paid for so they're going to be mad all the same.
By and by, I actually.. like it. Too bad the only pet of mine that could be GY is my Kora, which I've yet to GY for this very reason. Not that Rah is going to ruin it (IluBb) it just may not suit my zombie cat when and if it's revamped.

I've never really liked the new Malticorn, and the Graveyard colour still doesn't make me like it. |: The standard of colouring and such is absolutely lovely, but I just dislike Malticorns.
However I really adore that Chelon. It's detailed; I can actually sit and look at it and I feel I'd get to know the personality of it more. c:

The old GY malticorn art was horrible.. It didn't match the rest of the GY pets and it needed to be redone. This version is WONDEFUL <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif" border="0" /> I'd get one if I had the potion. People will get over it :3 After reading through the posts here the majority liked the new one.

Wooow, the Graveyard Malticorn turned out amazing! I've been worried with all these revamps that the Malticorn would end up too different for my liking, since I adored the old one... But this one is lovely! Not too decayed, and still has a bit of a sinister look! I looove how scrawny it is, too! My praise to the artist :] And just so the Chelon doesn't feel left out, I think that one is splendid, as well!

People! Rah obviously worked hard on the Graveyard Malticorn. The colors may have changed a little, but it's still the same old GY Malticorn you've all come to know and love, just with a new twist! As you can see, Rah STILL kept the two horns and the evil smirk just like the old version and the rearing is probably because the Malticorn is half dog and half unicorn. And last I recalled the unicorn was a mystical horse with a single horn growing out of it's head. Therefore the rearing makes sense for the pose.

Wow. The users here are wickedly harsh. The artists spend an amazing amount of time on these revamps and all they seem to get in response is a 5 to 1 ratio of people who have nothing but complaints to give. Quite frankly, on an art-quality level, the new Malticorn is steller as opposed to the old version. Seems the largest complaint is with the pose? Wow. That shocks me, seeing as how this new pose is much less static and more dynamic.
Seems most folks also have that misconception that GY pets are, what, evil? They're just undeads. All the complaining about how the old GY Malticorn looked devious and conieving - undead are generally defined as being mindless and driven by a single, powerful, obsession...why make that kind of a creature look...clever? :

I do appreciate the artist's work on the Malticorn, but of course I must put in my opinion;
I adored the dark, dirty look of the previous Malticorn. It gave a sinister, dark feeling. Sure it could have used a little decay, but the devious, dark intent of it's look gave it an edge of devilish intent.

The graveyard malticorn wasn't just updated like the spectrum keeto because a sickly green color and a bit of dirt don't make a graveyard pet.
As for why we're revamping old pets instead of releasing new colors, this isn't anything new. I do have several new colors to release this month as well. However, when a species in revamped, there is higher priority on getting its old images updated than there is on making new colors available. No matter what we do first, someone will still complain. This is how we do things, though.

Ikagerou, I don't draw the tigrean or the celinox, I'm afraid, so I can't really draw them in new colours! Also, it's the month of October, and we've been told to only draw Graveyard and Nightmare pets <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> So spectrum and angelic are on hold for a while!
And us subeta artists keep revamping pets because they are either very old and they don't match a) the colour palettes or b) the revamp of the common version. The Malticorn just got revamped, so I revamped the very outdated GY version to match it, whilst trying to keep core elements of the pet (double horns, facial expression, lack of guts and huge wounds). But the colours on it weren't palette colours, and they made little sense in their placement. (Dark body with light patches in random places instead of a lighter body with darker hair/spots)
To everyone else that I'm not replying to directly - thank you for your comments n__n I knew I'd probably end up upsetting a few GY malticorn owners, but I do feel that in time you will come to love this one too. Or at least tolerate it! I aim to create the kind of pet that will attract /more/ owners when I draw a pet, and to be honest, the old GY malticorn was in a very dull standing pose that was just too similar to the common malticorn's pose for my liking. I wanted to shake it up a bit! To be completely honest, I find it pretty strange that people are complaining so much about the new malticorn. It's a vast improvement. I was surprised that people actually liked the old version, it wasn't very well done in my opinion.

Wow, you know, each time there's a GY revamp, there's always the same complaints...
It's too skinny? Well, you know, if you were dead for a while and then raised as a zombie I'd be guessing you wouldn't have many insides either. I mean, from all the decomposition you'd have had.
I mean, you all do realize that these are Zombie pets, right? Not Evil pets (those are Nightmare) and not Psychotic pets (those are Bloodred) but died-buried-in-the-ground-raised-by-who-knows-what-kinds-of-crazy-means-as-living-corpses pets.
That being said, these two look absolutely lovely. I like the fact that the GY Malticorn has not so much decomposition, since it never had it before, so it's not a very drastic change.
I absolutely adore all the minute touches to the Chelon! The fishing line and all that jazz... awesome. And am I correct in seeing a bit of Chelon brain peeking through there?

I honestly cannot believe that the old moods are being considered when doing revamps. Every one I've seen has had a changed mood except for BR Velos. I agree with most comments to GY Malti. The sass is gone. I'm still terrified for my Angelic Morti.

I seriously prefered the GY Malticorn the way it was. Some of the changes have seriously taken away the personality and the general vibe that it used to have. It looked so delightfully evil and sassy.

The GY Malti updates only make me fear an update for the RB and Angelic. I am still not completely happy with the Malticorn revamp, but overlooked it because my Malti is the only pet I hope to recolor Angelic. It is a long term investment for me and I would understand if anyone that had an Angelic pet felt cheated if they no longer have what they invested in.
Work on the colors the Malti doesn't have yet and give the owners some options if you remove a pet they invested time and sometimes money on.

I know these pets are supposed to be controversial, but the Chelon is just as bad as the Chai.....so sad. I don't know why anyone who want these and I consider myself pretty morbid, or that is, others do. But not morbid pets I guess.

I was afraid this would happen. I must say I am extremely dissipointed with the new GY Malticorn. It did loose the evil smirk, and it lost the fearsome attitude. I really think the re-drawing is cartooney. I do not like the overly skinny physique, the way it is rearing up...the whole thing. I am sorry to say, this re-vamp just does not do it for me. I'm sad that one of my favorite pets now has to be fed a different species potion to make her awesome again.

The Graveyard Malticorn was another revamp I feared... but I am actually surprised at how it turned out. At least the expression keeps that giddy and evil look, I do miss how the old version was different and added variety to the mix.

and so here's a revamp that has now effected me as I own a graveyard Malticorn. and I don't like the revamp very much. It has lost the sass and the evilness like someone mentioned. I'm alright with the face and sure the quality is better and the color change doesn't bother me, but specifically, I REALLY despise the rearing pose and the hooves. The hooves are arkward and should look cloved, instead they look like holes where chopped or scraped into them. I just loved the pose on the old one and the character it had to it along with the red eyes it had. The new pose is too pony and stiff like. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif" border="0" />

As lovely as the art itself is, the GY Malticrn just isn't right. It's lost it's evil sass, and it's also lost that awesome greenish-grey color :/ As an owner of one I'm definitely not keeping him that way, and I guess I'll be looking for another color.

I'll just be annoying and add another comment here. I had gotten my Angelic Keeto because of how the old one seemed perfect for her. (I actually saved her from the pound as common) When it got revamped I was pretty heartbroken and disappointed, since it didn't seem really the same. But as the days went on I realized how much nicer the new one really looked, and fell in love with her all over again <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif" border="0" />

*Sigh* Guess I'll save up for a nightmare potion and wait for them to release a nightmare malticorn. The new pose is great, and the overall idea is fine, but it has destroyed Masahir's character. He looks like a zombie poodle now. That's just my opinion of course.

Luxe, this pose is nothing like the old GY Malticorn o_o The old one was on all four feet, with the front feet slightly spread, and its head down, looking rather menacing. It definitely wasn't rearing up.

This is so sad.. -.-; I thought the GY Malti was going to at LEAST look like the original. I have to change Narciss now. I absolutely detest this re-do.. That is just so sad.. so so sad. I do believe this is the first pet redesign that I...do not care for. -sigh- My greatest fear of the Malticorn being revamped was that, indeed, the old graveyard would be changed; and my fear appears to be true. I see nothing wrong with this new art, as it is truelly beautiful and deffinatly more advanced then I could do, but I must say I prefered the old Graveyard Malticorn to the new.

whoever drew that Chelon is my hero. I wish there wasnt a worm in its eye but the use of the long line and fishermans net cancels it out. Soo many sea turtles die each year because of Long lines and by-catch.

The plastic rings on the Chelon's tail are a nice touch. Overall I'm fairly happy with the Malticorn, though I don't like the bones showing in the tail. That chunk taken out of the tail just isn't... Attractive or something. Though I adore the face and head on it.

As someone who used to have a GY Malticorn in the past I can say it's a bit irritating to see this new version but I'm sure I'll get used to it and love it in a few days as I loved the old one. And the Chelon is awesome, too a major improvement. *thumbs up for both Pets*

I... personally prefer it when updates are simply that. Updates to lineart, coloring, shading... not major revamps of the design. Don't get me wrong, these are both very well drawn, but I no longer have the pet I once painted in Dewk. I will be looking for a suitable color replacement for her, I suppose.

Huntress, if memory serves, the old GY Malticorn had 2 horns also. The artist didn't want to take that away from the pet as a lot of people would be upset.

Fantastic. Totally amazing versions, that retain every essence of their old version. The Chelon keeps with its original idea, but made a bazillion times better. And the malticorn still has the same facial expression and mood about it. The shading on that malticorn also just looks amazing, namely the texture of it. As always, excellent work guys.

The Chelon is definitely a big improvement. Love the worm in the eye, it's so creepy.
The Malticorn's art is nice, but it looks so different from the old one. I kinda liked the old one better, cause it didn't look too graveyard-ish, it was just cool. This one fits the color better though.
